This property offers a calm and relaxing trip to enjoy a unique experience. At this location, we have bird and squirrel feeders to watch the wildlife. We also have a fire pit to enjoy a nice fire and watch the stars at night. Down the road, you can enjoy the view of the river or visit historical Fort Nonsense park. In addition, Beaverdam park is about 15 minutes from our location and has trails, fishing, kayaking, etc. We are about 45 minutes away from amusement park Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. There are many, many activities to enjoy nearby.

Sharp's Island is so named because the Sharp family of Richmond owned it as far back as the 1850s. The old brick foundation you see in the pictures is all that remains of a house that was built on the island in 1895 and stood for 75 years! We consider ourselves stewards of an amazing historic, ecological, geologic, and recreational asset, and we would love to have you add your story to this island's long history!

The house was so cute a cozy. It is a real house with electricity, internet, TV, dvd player, and Netflix, a full kitchen, and the bathroom is right beside the upstairs bedroom. The view from the bed in the morning was a beautiful huge tree in the field. Down the hill is a very large pond. I can see a float and canoes that would be great in the summer. There is a huge pavilion beside the lake with couches, a long table, chairs, a grill, and a refrigerator. There are two outside RV toilet stalls at the lake too. When I drove in I saw horses in a field and a little donkey running around, playing in a a pen. I stopped and watched. Close to the house they have goats in a pen and they wanted me to pat them. The owner, Maria, told me I could. She also has a pig and chickens. I enjoyed the solitude but this place would be wonderful for a family outing or corporate retreat. I forgot a few things, so Maria directed me to a nearby Walmart in Tappahannock. I highly recommend a stay at Maria's farm.

The rental space and land were both beautiful. We couldn’t see another house from the rental - it looked out onto trees, a field, and well maintained grassy space that we and our dog enjoyed! The house was perfect for our group and the hosts very responsive. We would 100% stay again!

Serenity and a calm, caring host who made sure we were comfortable. 2 real beds (a loft and a twin), a convertible couch, a fully reclining leather EZ chair, and extra bedding made sleeping comfy for 4. Cabin had heat and a/c. Awesome hot shower, outdoor sink, picnic table, tree swing, outdoor chairs, fire pit, fridge, grill, groceries in driving distance. Recommend for a refreshing retreat! ✌️

We had a blast camping out on Sharp's Island! It was a spontaneous adventure and I'm so glad we were able to book. The island is such a cool spot, we had amazing sunset views and ample room to set up. Andy is a great host, and I'd definitely recommend staying here! The canoe ride over isn't very far and is safe, and Andy will tell you (and like other reviews have said) just pay attention to the tides and river water levels! If you can, time your crossings closer to high tide when the current isn't as strong. If the river is high and it's low tide, paddling to the island can be more of a workout!

Enjoyed the stay at Sharps Island. Location was perfect for fishing all three days we were there. Caught plenty of shad and catfish. We will be back.

The space was an awesome and unique spot, with a city view that you really can’t get anywhere else! Will be returning to enjoy the countless amenities such as the grill and the cool cabin design. If you forget pillows the couch cushions make good substitutes.
