Site 2 - The Forge at Fiddler's Ridge
The giant fenced site can't be beat for those bringing a dog! We appreciated the shade trees, the freshly cut grass we could run around on barefoot, the complete privacy from other people, outhouse on site, firewood on site, a place to refill water, creek access right alongside site, walking trails right next to site, and more. The host was very responsive and easy to work with!

Site 2 - The Forge at Fiddler's Ridge
I stayed at campsite #2 after seeing there was a barn covering incase of rain... which we got! The covering worked out well and John sells fire wood at a very generous rate and we could buy as much as we wanted. The outhouses were very clean and a short walk from the campsite. We will be back!

John is always so welcoming. We have stayed here 3/4x now and every time we leave super content/happy! It’s a very nice place for family and even with your partner. Feels safe.

So so beautiful at night. There was a barn which was great so I could avoid the wind. John was an incredible host and I felt very safe.

I’ve now visited twice, once at each site! I will continue to come here too.
The bathroom is an outhouse and it’s nice for an outhouse! Much better than a porter potty, uses natural cedar instead of chemicals and controls any smells. Stocked with hand sanitizer, paper towels, and TP.
There’s wood for sale and it’s very reasonable. Sorry y’all, I did tell the host he’s giving us too much of a deal on wood and should charge more haha
Site one is great if you have a smaller party and the view on the hill is so dang peaceful.
Site two is huge and in a field that’s fully fenced in which is great for letting the dogs run loose.
Great fire pits and picnic tables.

Another great stay here! The night sky is incredible and we love being able to allow our dogs to enjoy the space off leash. Hope to be back again.

Great spot! Gorgeous. We stayed in site 1 which has incredible stars views. The outhouse was super clean, one of the cleanest I have ever experienced. The spot still has cell service. We had a blast and Jon was friendly and helpful. :) Aside from some distant doggies, crazy quiet at night.

Our group had and amazing time on the property here. John is really friendly and a wonderful host. Land is beautiful and secluded with a great firepit area and plenty of room. Highly recommend this site and host!

We stayed here for a couple days and had a great time. Very relaxing. We stayed at the site up the hill perfect for one tent and couple people. The hill is steeper than it looks in the pictures and a great workout going up and down to the bathrooms. You can’t see the other site from yours due to trees which makes it more secluded! You will see your neighbors walking down to the bathroom which we just have a good wave when we saw them. Loved walking to see the horses and this site up the hill has some walk way/sorta trail to go on. The firewood was $10 for a bucket but we just took the bucket and foraged for sticks and stuff on the trails to save some money. We chose not to use the wood provided so can’t comment n the quality of that. The stars are wonderful at night and we were blessed to have clear skies! Heard some coyotes at night, saw a deer. You also will hear gun shots way off in the distance during hunting season. The. Bathrooms were nice and clean, not smelly at all. We used the shower on our last day before heading out. Felt good to get the grime off from campfires and walking. Would def recommend camping here! John was very helpful and showed us around to our campsite.

Great site for tent camping. Water and outhouse within a 30 second walk. Scenic views and pristine landscape. John was a very kind and courteous host. We will for sure come back.

This was our group’s 2nd time camping at John’s place. It’s absolutely beautiful, spacious and off the beaten path. This is the prototype of a Hipcamp site. Thanks again John for another beautiful campout!

Beautiful property for tent camping! Stayed two nights at site 2 with family of 8 including kids and dogs. We all had a great time exploring the stream and we really appreciated access to a shower and very clean pit toilets.

Fiddler’s ridge is the exact type of property you think of for HipCamp. It was private, quiet, and beautifully natural. My daughter, our dog, and I enjoyed the openness of the meadow. The stargazing was top notch. John’s attention to detail with the outhouse and signage on the property created a well cared for, yet remote environment. We will definitely be visiting this site again in the future!

Site 2 was perfect! Felt completely secluded and had all we needed. John even helped us close gaps in the fence so we could let our dog off leash. Would definitely return here again!

We really enjoyed staying on John's property! The campsite was nice, secluded, and relaxing. John was very friendly and accommodating and the barn offered a great place to hide during a big storm. We can't wait to go back!

John has a lovely property and he was a great host. We stayed in a mostly enclosed pasture by the creek so my kids could easily explore and our 2-year old pup could roam. John also pointed out a persimmon tree and a paw paw tree that were both ripe - a fun treat! We also appreciated the access to firewood and the outhouse :) We had a great time!

The meadow is beautiful quiet site. I would recommend highly especially if you have a dog. The horses were beautiful. The host John is friendly and shows you to the site. I felt safe camping there as a lone female traveler.

John was super friendly and has an amazing camp set up. Site 1 has the most amazing view especially at sunrise and sunset. The toilet and shower were very clean and welcoming as well.

We will definitely be back when the weather cools down. Site 2 is humongous and no pictures really do it justice. Fenced in, great for dogs. Little creek off the back maybe a 2-min walk. Livestock waterer too so you’re not hauling water for the doggos.

My family and I stayed here for Father’s Day and were so impressed! There is 10 of us including the pups and there was more than enough room for everyone to play, explore and spread out. The fire pit was awesome and huge, the outhouse was the best/cleanest one I’ve ever been too (it was HOT and it didn’t stink at ALL!!!). Our kids loved saying hi to the horses on the property. The owner was so kind and checked on us to make sure we were all okay & didn’t need anything! The creek was small, but perfect for cooling off! And having the ability to gate off the area so the kids and pups were safe was a huge plus for us. Toddlers love to wander, ya know? Lol. I would totally recommend this campsite to everyone!

Site 2 - The Forge at Fiddler's Ridge
This was a Father’s Day camping trip surprise and I couldn’t recommend it enough! The host, Johnny gave my family a personal tour of his blacksmithing area, his hotshot barn, and walked us around his beautiful veggie garden. He even hand picked some peppers and berries we ate fresh off the vine! He gave all the kids (and me) a horse shoe off the wall for a keep sake. The camping area was quiet and private and fenced in. Our dogs and kids ran around and had the time of their lives. The creek is only a few feet away and allowed the kids to cool down when it got hot. We explored the area and found a nice and easy trail to walk. The outhouse was a luxury amenity anyone would desire. We are already planning on returning again! Highly recommend! Thanks again Johnny for the priceless memories you helped create!

As always staying on John's land is an absolute privilege. It's quiet, serene, and perfect escape from the busiest of everyday life. The site has everything you need from a campsite. Access to firewood/firepit, water, and a lovely toilet situation. The fenced in field is what we love the most since we can let our dogs run to their hearts content.

We loved tent camping on John's land. We were in site 2 and it is a large open flat area with a firepit and picnic table. Plenty of space for kids or animals to roam and to set up tents. The outhouse is a little ways from camp but not an issue. just annoying if you needed to get up in the night to go. We drove our car to the outhouse sometimes and walked other times. John is a very generous host and has a beautiful garden.
