Opequon Quaker Camp is located on the Rolling Ridge Conservancy. the Conservancy is home to three non-profit, partner organizations and consists of more that 1700 acres of protected forests and fields. the land is all accessible to the public on its extensive trail system, connecting to the Appalachian Trail (near Raven's Rock and Wilson's Gap ) and reaching down to the Shenandoah River. From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers.
Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit.
If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. The Appalachian Trail is just over the top of the mountain and Harpers Ferry National Park is down the road and over the Shenandoah River.
We might be a teeny bit biased, but we think this is area of northwest Loudoun County, VA is one of the loveliest places in the world.

We have a small hobby farm with chickens, peacocks, and livestock guardian dogs (who bark at night). The rest of the property is wooded, with a 1/2 acre clearing great for tents and campers. PLEASE NOTE: at least one camper must be 21+. Until May 1, fires only from to 4pm-midnight due to local restrictions. You may purchase firewood from us or gather your own. :-)

Our group of seven really enjoyed staying at the lodge in the middle of winter when the property was covered with snow. We loved hiking around the Rolling Ridge property and trying to identify all of the animal prints on the snow. Hearing and seeing a variety of woodpeckers was a highlight.
The fireplace gathering area was my favorite part of the lodge. It was a wonderful space to visit, make music, and play games. Wifi was easy to use and reliable.
The road and parking area were plowed well for easy access to the lodge.
We plan to return!

We had a wonderful time group camping at The Lodge At Opequon at Opequon Quaker Camp @ Rolling Ridge. Everyone loved the facility, nice and clean. Plenty of rooms and beds for everyone, and plenty of woods for fire to keep us warm and chilling. Bathrooms and showers were clean, and kitchen was very handy and useful. We enjoyed the outdoor, and there were plenty of other stuff offered by the campsite that we did not have time to use. Overall amazing experience and look forward to visiting again soon :)

1 night at Smith Ridge Harper's Ferry
The cabin was very well heated for hours in 30 degree and below weather. Well stocked with supplies, and Matt was helpful in providing freshly chopped firewood, lighter, and a grill! A big supply of drinking water and coffee. Had a great time having a bonfire the whole night. Porta potty was pretty decent too. Matt seemed like a cool host in general, and gave us great suggestions for hiking! Would recommend to anyone and I would probably hang out with him if he invited us.

This was my group’s second time camping at Smith Ridge, hosted by Matt. This time I had a bigger group (7 people, 5 tents, and room for more). We had a great time again, and the onsite firewood we were able to purchase kept us warm during the 25 degree weather! Another plus was the porta-potty across from where we parked so we didn’t have to dig a hole in the snow. My group will 100% keep returning to camp here!

Would definitely camp here again. It’s great for large groups, and Matt the host was very welcoming. We especially appreciated the onsite firewood. $20 got us a beautiful fire burning from 3pm to midnight. Tables and seating were also on site so we were able to prepare our dinner to roast over the fire without haven’t to balance anything on our laps. To top the experience off, there was a spotless porta-potty at the edge of the camp’s boundary.
Overall, this site was very well maintained and in a beautiful location.

Dee was so kind and her land was the perfect place to spend a fall night. Enjoyed bluegrass at the winery across the street in the evening, and awoke the next morning to a beautiful sunrise and deer grazing right outside the car. You can tell the area is rich with wildlife. Well worth the trip and $. :) Thanks Dee!

Matt’s land is great, there are a few campsites but everyone is far apart so each site has privacy. Matt was extremely helpful upon arrival— offered to help get our stuff up to the camp and provided us with firewood. Porta potty’s were clean and parking was easy. Great time overall, thanks Matt!

I loved tent camping on Dee's land. Dee warmly met me upon arrival. The area was secluded and I felt like I had to whole place to myself. The location was less than 10 minutes from Sweet Run State Park which I had plans to explore. There was also a brewery/winery right up the road that I didn't get the chance to try, but definitely a bonus to this spot!

Weekend Trip to Smith Ridge Harper's Ferry
We loved our stay at Gracie’s Place. It’s a rustic and romantic cabin tucked in the woods, perfect for a quiet weekend escape. The host was incredibly thoughtful—he had everything we needed ready for us, including paper towels, water, firewood, and even a wine bottle opener.
The cabin itself was cozy and charming. The bed was very comfy and the personal balcony gave us a sense of tranquility, surrounded by nature. It felt peaceful and remote while still being close enough to town and stores for quick trips.
The only drawback is there’s a house nearby with a partial view into the curtainless window which took away a bit of our privacy. Still, the atmosphere was romantic and relaxing overall and we’d absolutely recommend this stay.
