The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. Nearby attractions include: BLACK HILLS REGIONAL PARK (15 minutes) for boating, hiking or biking Vineyard 61 (5 minutes) Stone Silo Brewery (5 Minutes) Leechwood Haunted Forest (5 Minutes) October weekends only There are also chickens and peacocks that are very anxious to receive your love and affection with any type of treat such as raisins. Kids can even go in the chicken coop and pick out their very own egg they can cook for their breakfast. 116 acres of forrest, hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. Camptown is our largest site. It features a large fire pit and a circular field that can accomodate 10 to 15 or more tents. You can also park smaller camper vans, teardrops, etc. in this large area. Good for parties, family reunions. The "# person" per site listing considers adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! By the way, that labryinth entrance is behind the kiosk. It's the largest of it's kind in North America. It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet we have beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running around the labryinth whooping it up. (sites 4 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 10)

There is a fire ring at each site and we provide a free bundle of wood to each guest with more bundles available for $4 each. A porta potty is also located on the property for our guest. Please read the rules and recomendations posted at the site when you arrive. There is no lifeguard on duty, so you swim at your own risk. Although the creek is pretty shallow most of the time, we ask that if you have children, they are supervised at all times, especially around the water. You can tell Donald is passionate about his land. We had an amazing time tent camping at Site 10. The site was extremely neat and tidy. Site 10 is perfect if you want an isolated camping experience. We will return! 4x4 vehicles recommended.

We really enjoyed our one night stay. Firewood and water provided was really nice. Fun to watch people sky diving from the small nearby airstrip. I’d recommend this campground.

Weekend Trip to HUNTER'S PARK BY WASHINGTON, DC
Hunters Park at Mezza Luna Farm was awesome. We stayed in the T1 site. Plenty of room for multiple tents and cars. There's firewood for sale right by the site, which was very convenient. There was an outdoor sink at the site, which was nice (though in colder months the water is shut off). There's a porta potty that was very clean - maybe the cleanest portapotty I've ever seen. The farm is beautiful with lots of horses to see. You're allowed to go visit them in the stables. There's plenty of paths to walk around the property if you want to go on a hike. Keith came by to visit - very friendly and welcoming. One family in our group had a couple small children. They did fine and loved seeing the horses. Damascus is very close by - easy access to groceries if you need anything. We'll be back again!

My husband and I had a wonderful time with our 3 dogs camping on Lynda's property for a weekend trip to Shenandoah! The dogs loved being able to run around and play off leash. We set up camp next to the creek where the fire pit was, and it was so quiet and peaceful. We did not use the electric but used the water spigot, which was just a short walk from where we set up camp. We definitely did not explore the property as much as we could have since we spent most of our time there relaxing by the fire after hiking in the national park, but it is absolutely beautiful and there is tons to explore! We hauled a pop up camper with a Ford Excursion, which worked great for us and we are used to doing this kind of thing, but I will say when Lynda says you need 4WD to get down the hill to the creek camping area she is not lying. Use your judgement. If you are not comfortable hauling something up and down a very steep hill and driving on a narrow dirt road, don't chance it. You can definitely get stuck. There is another area where you can set up camp and can still explore the property all the same! Shenandoah is just a short drive away, which makes this the perfect location. There is a road next to the property but it is a quiet back road - only a couple cars when by during our time there. We definitely recommend Lynda's property!!!

Beaver cove was wonderful for my girlfriend and I. Lynda went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The lake, paddle boats, river and site just amazed us. We loved it here. Almost didn’t write a review because I don’t want everyone staying here! But cheers to Lynda, great work! The fishing was amazing btw

This was my second time coming to Donald's campsite and exploring the trails on the property, so needless to say I love it here. The bamboo cave is so cozy and special, and I so appreciate the firewood and jug of water that Donald provides. Plus, Donald is super communicative, so if you have any issues you'll be taken care of. Also: -There's a trail map at each campsite, so you can explore the property while visiting. -Convenient drive to all kinds of weekend exploring, from Shenandoah, to Lake Anna, to Prince William National Forest and plenty of breweries in between. I will definitely be back!

What an incredible site! You have endless space to yourself, a creek to explore, a lake with boats, flat land for your tent, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Just set up your own portable potty and you’re good to go. We didn’t find the water pump but filtered the creek water which was very convenient. Lynda was communicative and helpful. Our free-ranging dog and young son had a blast. Can’t wait to return in warmer weather for a longer stay.

Everything was really great! The beautiful location was so amazing for a relaxing weekend. We appreciated how well-supplied the site was. Anything we forgot was readily available. It does say to bring linens. That was not needed for us but having an extra blanket is great for those colder nights. We highly recommend waking up early to see the sunrise over the mountains. The mist on the water was so magical and we even saw a mink walking right up to us!

Our group of nearly 30 people (including 20 kids!) had the most incredible time at this horse farm campsite. It was truly out-of-this-world perfect! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and full of fun things to do, but what really made the experience special was Keith, the owner. He is so kind, welcoming, and helpful—he went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right for us. The kids loved every minute, from exploring the farm to visiting the horses, and the adults couldn’t have asked for a better setting to relax and enjoy time together. It’s rare to find a place that works so well for such a big group, but this farm was absolutely perfect. We’ve already decided this will be an annual event and can’t wait to be back next fall. Highly, highly recommend!

Area down by the river very spacious and well-maintained. Beautiful property. Multiple spots to chose from. Walking paths mowed into the grass along the river. Road width, height clearance, and bends down to river site limit trailer length. I had a truck towing a 15ft teardrop and was fine. There is a public road along the property so there is some road noise but it dies down in the evening. Hiking paths on other parts of property.

There were a lot of thoughtful touches, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the backyard was really nice. The hot tub was clean enough and worked well and the fire pit was lovely. The place felt a lot bigger than the pictures implied! The hosts communicated well enough, except missing the text that one of the two toilets was broken. Other notes: It is really three, full- or queen-sized beds + one very small mattress above the bed in the basement. It could technically fit 7 people if everyone shared beds except one small person, who slept on the small mattress above. The basement bathroom was iffy, with only a small spray of water in the shower, a toilet that didn't work while we were there, and a door that doesn't fully close.

The place was perfect for our 4 families to spend a weekend. Very kid friendly, tons of space to run around, and gave us tours around all the animals. Keith and his crew were very welcoming and helpful. The place was picturesque. We will definitely be going back.
