Roderick was super kind. He let me move to the spot with the best morning sunrise view, made sure I knew where the fire pit was and left the light on in the outside portal potty. We loved it here what an amazing experience watching the boats come in after a day of crabing. The sun rise and sunsets are spectacular and the host are wonderful people . Totally enjoyed the spot and can't wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Anvil Campground. The place was very well planned out, neat and tidy. The host was a great source of very helpful information about how to navigate between the local attractions. The bus stop at the campground provides great service to Williamsburg.

Simple family friendly and family run campground with all the needed resources. We don’t use any of the resources of the full fledged resort campgrounds. But Busch Gardens is just a few miles away if that is what you want. We stayed two extra days to better explore Colonial Williamsburg and the other historical sites - our main goals for this stay.

What an incredible stay! The location is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, scenic, and right by the water. Rod and his wife were amazing hosts—so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The site was quiet and beautiful. We really enjoyed walking the farm and seeing the animals. I caught my first Bluegill in the lovely fishing pond. I would definitely recommend Peace Hill Farm if you’re looking for peace and quiet in a rustic rural setting.

Such a well-maintained campground! The staff were super friendly and I just kept being so impressed by how clean everything was. Every single time I went into the bathroom, day or night, it looked as if it had just been wiped down. The pool was nicely warm and relaxing, and even though I didn't travel with kids, I think it's great that they had a playground and all kinds of different activities for them. I don't usually look for electric hook up when I travel, but this was a nice luxury this time. Would definitely stay here again!

Just needed to park my car and sleep in it and this was easy to come and go. Several amenities but I didn’t use the firepit or even walk the property. Spacious and was mostly unbothered my whole stay. Thanks for being accommodating.

The thing to take away from this is, we have started making this a regular destination. That really should be very telling. Everything about Oyster House is fantastic. Rod is an amazing host and genuinely cares. I love being able to step outside the camper and be able to wet a line, drop a crab trap, watch wildlife, enjoy amazing sunsets and unreal night skies, take a stroll, float a kayak, or a million other things. We are in love with everything about this destination.

Weekend Trip to Anvil Campground

Anvil is a smaller but very friendly campground that had everything we needed. The site was level and the hookups were easy to manage. Though we didn’t get a chance to use the bathrooms they looked really nice. It’s also close to all the attractions in Williamsburg and really enjoyed taking our dogs to walk the colonial area. We’d stay here again for sure! (Yes, there’s a train that’s really close but it didn’t put a damper on our fun)
