Camp Grassland: Two of our prepped campsites are on a flattened area of the hillside field with access to a fire pit, log bench, and porta-potty. This location is in direct sun with beautiful views and easy access from the road. Parking at the top of the field is recommended unless you have a 4WD vehicle.  Cabin Breazy: Situated at one of the highest points on the property, Cabin Breazy is our cozy, off-grid, dry A-frame cabin surrounded by mountain views. Farmhouse Holler: 2nd Campsite is located next to our old farmhouse on a lower section of the property. Its near the natural spring and is shaded. There are no convenient bathroom facilities at this location so it is recommended to bring your own. Reaching the porta-potty would require an extensive uphill hike or driving around to the other entrance. To reach this campsite, the driveway could be considered rough terrain so drive slowly. Lowered vehicles or those with little ground clearance are not recommended.  Each campsite has a max occupancy of 2 people. If you need space for more campers, please reach out to us about how many are in your party. We can host groups with advanced notification. Overlanding vehicles are welcome. Attractions: If you are looking for birds-eye view of the area, visit the Mendota Fire Tower only 3.2 mile away. You can see it from the farm and see the farm from it. It's about a 15 minute hike from the road. You can choose the mildly challenging way up or take the old roadway for a smoother walk. Clinch River is only 20 minutes away. Cool off in the river or enjoy kayaking and tubing opportunities from Clinch River Adventures. Closest convenience store is about 15 minutes away. Closest Grocery store is about 20 minutes away. Our scenic campground sits in a wooded area overlooking a meadow that slopes down to a small, year-round creek. Enjoy sunrise and sunset views for much of the year, along with frequent sightings of deer, turkeys, Canadian geese, and mallard ducks—despite being just minutes from the city. The campground borders an active railroad line. While trains pass only 1–2 times a day, they have no reason to sound their horns. Please do not approach the tracks as there are no fences, and trespassing is strictly prohibited. Each site includes a 12' x 12' raised tent deck with 1/4" board gaps for securing stakes. Parking for one vehicle is available at each site, with overflow parking just a few hundred feet away. A large fire ring with stump seating is provided at each site. Amenities include a portable toilet, a central water hydrant, safety lighting, and clearly marked parking and campsite areas to help with nighttime navigation. In May and June, fireflies light up the trees and meadow. On clear nights, the train embankment blocks city lights, revealing a brilliant night sky. A historic cemetery dating to before the American Revolution is also located on the property. We are in Tennessee, and poison ivy is present—please learn to identify and avoid it. Our family is allergic and actively working to remove it from the grounds. Dining and shopping are just a 10-minute walk away, with nearby options including Kickback Jacks, Aubrey’s, Maple Street Biscuit Company, Rendezvous Cafe, Buffalo Wild Wings, Ming’s Asian Cuisine, Wahaca Mexican Kitchen, Sully’s Steamers, and Rio De Brazil. You’ll also find camping gear and sporting goods at Academy Sports + Outdoors. We would love to share everything this peaceful place has with you. Waking up by the river is rejuvenating and is the perfect way to start your day as you reconnect with nature. While you’re perfectly welcome to cook all of your meals over a campfire for the full “roughing it” experience, we understand that there are times when you just want to kick back and relax. With that in mind, we also offer hot, home cooked family meals, delivered directly to your door upon request and at an additional expense. Tours Our farm is small but growing daily. We are striving to create a fully functional and self-reliant regenerative farm in an environment that is focused on soil health and increasing biodiversity, while peacefully existing and raising healthy and happy animals. This secluded spot on a private drive is a perfect little getaway location. You have lake view and lake access by foot. Vehicles can be parked on the 25 ft stretch of grass pad above the campsite, or pulled down the hill … (please note the word HILL) onto site at vehicle owners' discretion. Fire pit is on premise and ready for use with a walking trail to the water. Kayaks are available for rental to navigate Cherokee Lake. Trees surround you full of wild rabbits, birds and squirrels. Down at the water about 50 ft from your site you have the availability to fish, wade in the water, Kayak, or sit and watch the ducks, geese, turtles and more. This is a private drive but has four sites so please respect other tenants who have come to enjoy seclusion and serenity during their stay. We are in a rural area about 22 minutes from main town. However, there are restaurants, a Blue Bell ice cream parlor, a grocery store and post office all within 8 minutes. We are 12 minutes from one of the best Disc Golf courses, 25 minutes from Parks/trails/waterfalls, and only about an hour from major tourist sites in Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg/ Knoxville/Bristol Speedway. You will have solitude during your stay but opportunities for communication and aid from the host is available. The site can be busier during holiday breaks as this is OFF a main road and is on Cherokee lake so noise echos on the water, and there may be other renters checking in other units just a heads up. The Artist Studio was the perfect spot to stay on a solo road trip from Eastern Virginia to Nashville. The property was stunning and the studio was clean & cozy. Outstanding location 10 min from downtown Johnson City. The host, Pat, left delicious baked goods in the fridge of the studio. My highlight of the stay was enjoying a fresh baked good & coffee in the sun room overlooking the pond. Highly recommend!

While creekside is not as close to a creek as intended, and not as secluded as some places, it was a very nice and quiet stay. We had a need for an inexpensive site along our route and creek side fit the bill. The host was absolute incredible, and there is a cabin on site that we were allowed to use. I’m not sure if it’s regularly part of the stay though.

The site is as described. True primitive campsite with the ability to camp wherever your feet or vehicle can make it. I stayed at the furthest point past the pond. Parked right next to a babbling brook and took in the peace. He has scrap wood (dry) for fires, a workshop bathroom w/hot water. David was a fantastic host and appreciate him giving us the opportunity to stay on his land.
