Propane heater(Mr Heater 18,000btu) to stay warm on chilly winter days/nights. Linens are provided. Solar generator provided. Compost toilet(bucket/sawdust) in cabin. Fire pit, wood fired hot tub(open year round), outdoor shower(spring-fall). Weekend Trip to Rooted Acres Farm

We had such a lovely stay here! The host was incredibly responsive to all our questions, and the cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It came with a portable heater inside that kept us warm at night (just remember to turn on the gas outside first!). Without proper winter clothing, it might be a bit chilly to stay here during the colder months, but we went toward the end of October and it was still perfect! And the hot tub!! Such a clever and wonderful addition! Just a heads up: you’ll need to build a strong fire to get it hot within about 3 hours, and you’ll likely want to make two fires - one for the tub and another to sit back and enjoy. Be sure to bring lanterns, as it gets dark pretty quickly once the sun sets. Even though we had cloudy skies, we could tell that on a clear night the stargazing would be incredible. The cabin is well-equipped with dishes and running water for light cooking, brushing teeth, etc. There’s also a small convenience store about 8 minutes away on the main road. Overall, we would highly recommend this place. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning!

We stayed in the yurt for a weekend and loved it! Bed was comfy and thought the woodstove wasn't working, the space heater kept us cozy. Morgan and Rush were excellent hosts, answered all our questions graciously and made us very welcome. The woodfired hot tub was glorious. Hope we can visit again someday!

This yurt stay was peaceful, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed from top to bottom. Everything inside had a clear purpose and was arranged to make settling in feel natural. It’s clear a lot of care went into creating a space that supports rest without distraction. The scenery surrounding the site was a real highlight—wide, uninterrupted views that made even quiet moments feel expansive. It’s also very secluded, with a strong sense of privacy. Communication with the host was smooth and prompt, which added to the low-stress feel of the whole trip. One delightful highlight: they make their own maple syrup on the property, and it’s excellent—rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with skill. If you’re looking for a place to unplug without giving up basic comfort, this is a solid option. Balanced, quiet, and beautifully situated.

Absolutely sweeping views! The yurt has power. Hot water shower outside with a sink behind it. We went in the rain and staying dry was absolutely no problem at all. I cannot get over how beautiful the land is. When I say sweeping views, I mean you can see many, many mountains through the door of the yurt. Morgan was fantastic, friendly, and hospitipal. Highly recommend!

The hosts have done such an amazing job creating a little slice of heaven at a reasonable price! My 7 year old daughter and I loved this place so much! And the hosts are incredible people with such a great energy and way of life! Everything needed was available on site. The shower was amazing! The wood fired tub is impressive! I very much enjoyed my camping experience at Rooted Acres Farm. Jerry was a wonderful host. He has created an amazing space there. Everything is as depicted. Some real engineering has gone into the off-grid cabin design. Things have been quite thoughtfully laid out. The cowboy hot tub is a real treat. It takes some time to get it up to a good temp but once it's there it stays hot for hours. You just have to be careful not to let it get too hot for your personal comfort.

A friend and I took our newly 18 year old daughters to Jerry's land over the weekend it was just what we all needed the hot tub was amazing we played lots of fun games and ate delicious food. With both our girls graduating high school this year it was nice to have a trip that we will have great memories of when we send them off at the end of the year. Highly recommend.

2 nights at Rooted Acres Farm

My wife and I had another wonderful stay at Jerry's cabin. We first stayed there December of 2022 and it was good to see and enjoy the subtle improvements over that time, demonstrating the host's thoughtfulness towards his guests. We stayed mid February with 30"+ of snow and cold nights dipping to around 0 f with a stiff windchill. The new propane heater kept the nip out of the air and the indoor cooking setup was well stocked with a counter top burner. Dimmable LED city lights and battery powered refrigerator were both nice touches. The improved wood-fired hot tub was a perfect way to relax after days of Nordic skiing at Craftsbury.

We had a fantastic winter weekend at this lovely cabin! It was super cozy and had all the amenities we needed. There was plenty of water, the lighting setup with the electric battery was easy to use and kept the whole space lit at night, and the propane heater kept us warm all weekend. The space is super well designed and thoughtful from the decor, to the bathroom and little indoor kitchen setup. You can tell this space was created with intention and love! We had a lot of fun building a fire and using the cowboy hottub, and the property is magical. Would love to visit again soon!
