With one mile of beach-front property, you will enjoy a beach-front camp like you’ve never dreamed of! All campsites are located between the highway and Bear Lake. Each campsite is located near potable water, has a picnic table, and restrooms/showers are only a short walk away.
No alcohol, drugs, pets or fireworks on property per Scouting America policies.
Bear Lake Aquatics Base is conveniently located north of Laketown and nearby many local attractions - Bear Lake State Park, Logan Canyon, Minnetonka Cave and the National Oregon Trail Museum. Explore neighboring Laketown to experience the local flavor, maybe even a raspberry shake.

The walk to the lake is approximately 1,000 feet to the back gate, with an additional walk or ride across public trust land depending on current water levels. This area between our property and the lake is regulated by the Idaho Department of Lands and is considered state-owned public land, meaning we are not permitted to modify or maintain the path beyond our property line. As such, conditions may vary and the path may occasionally be muddy or difficult to navigate. While access may require extra care, we’ve personally made the walk with our children (ages 5 to 15) even in high water years. The lake in this area is very shallow for several hundred feet, making it ideal for wading and kid-friendly fun when the beach is exposed.
There is no on-site boat launch, but public ramps are just a short drive away.
Please note there are a couple of shallow ditches on the property that may occasionally hold standing water. These have never posed an issue, but we recommend keeping an eye on young children just to be safe. Also, FIREWORKS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
With plenty of space to spread out and no crowded campgrounds in sight, this spot is ideal for RVers and campers seeking peace, privacy, and unforgettable views.

The smaller of the two parks in Caribou-Targhee National Forests, Caribou is a welterweight not to be underestimated. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance.
Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

Even though it cold outside perfect beach trip for the doggies. Great Beach acess to go play and go for nice relaxing walks. The views were so pretty and the camping spot was easy to access with rv power hookups great for a easy fast camp trip. Definitely will be back to enjoy a summer camp session.

Everything was just as described and we had such a good time! We were able to walk down to the lake and the beach was beautiful! The water was warm and so blue. Christina was so communicative and helpful throughout. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

There's nothing else quite like waking up to "waterfront" property. Literally, our tent's site had a beach for the front yard.😄 We had our watercraft anchored right there, so we could wake up in the morning, & catch the glassy morning water!💦 A M A Z I N G!!!!💜 The site was well kept, NOT full of trash; and very quiet!😊 The camp hosts are the sweetest most helpful people! We'll be back next year!🏕️

The camping at BLAB is easy. Beach access to the water is close and its very quiet. The lake is gorgeous. The camp host is quick to respond and very helpful. The bathrooms are a rustic but kept very clean.

What an unexpected, glorious surprise! We tend to find camp spots last minute as we road trip and happened to come across this location. We were shocked at how beautiful the view was. We set up our tent and didn’t feel cramped next to other people. The owner of the camp popped by to welcome us by as we were setting up. Then once we were set up we walked down to the lake and swam for awhile. It’s chilly but once you get in it is totally manageable. I highly recommend!

The hosts were nice and the other campers were friendly and kind. The view was amazing over the lake! There was room for our tents. The dirt roads were rough and could use some work. The outhouse was particularly smelly, but they were relatively clean and had toilet paper and water to wash hands with. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful setting! Hard to beat the location. The property is just as described. The pavilion is really nice to have and there was ample space for camping and kids to run around. The hand wash station is a nice touch.
The stars were unreal on our last night when it was clear. Being right next to the lake really helps with the darkness at night. Enjoyed our stay!

Site 17 sits above the sites a nice distance - meaning any loud music on the weekend is less likely to disturb you. It was lovely here at the site, a short walk to the beach (beach is open to all the sites). Very family friendly. Quiet during the week, a bit loud on the weekends with families and stereos.
Camphosts do a walk through at 11 to make sure sound is off on weekends.
Very family friendly. People pitch their shade tents in the beach.
We honestly preferred it here over the west side of bear lake where it’s crowded with traffic, and south and north Eden campgrounds where it’s a long walk out to deeper water.
There is less patrolling for dogs, unlike at bear lake state park where dogs on leashes are mandatory…which meant a nip by one dog and another family that had a campsite on the beach would leave their dogs free as a way to control people coming down the road by their site even though the beach is open access.
