My husband Shaun and I fell into rescuing horses quite by accident. We started a non-profit to promote the Rescue, Rehab, Retrain and Rehome method to get horses out of bad situations and into good homes. We are a small rescue and hope to be much bigger one day! Please come visit, enjoy our beautiful property and support an amazing non-profit cause while you are at it! Learn more about this land:We are a non-profit horse rescue situated on one acre. The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep". This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays. The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other. You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house. If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses.PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Bathroom hours are 8am-9pm. Parking is located a few hundred feet from the campsite, just off of the road. You must walk a few hundred feet to get to the campsite and you cannot pull your vehicle right up to it. While we do welcome car campers and pop-up trailers, just know you won't be parked at the campsite if you choose to sleep this way. We look forward to having you camp with us!

There’s two massive fire pits, flat spots for tents, outdoor couch seating, it’s a great place to host a family gathering, big event, wedding, anything you can imagine. Shoot guns, play games, escape the city and to your spot in around 30 minutes from the mouth of Weber Canyon.

Great spot to stay on a cross country drive- very close to I-84. The tentsite was closer to where we parked than I anticipated which made unloading and setting up very easy - especially since we arrived after dark, which Jessie was very accommodating about. There is some road noise/light but if you’re a solid sleeper (or tired after a long drive) it won’t bother you at all. Fun to see the horses playing in the morning!

We loved our stay at Steep Mountain Farm. We were welcomed and given a nice play to set up our tent, followed by a lovely tour of the farm to see the chickens, turkeys, and goats. Thank you for being lovely hosts.

Jessie and Sean are great hosts. Highly recommend the site. I know a lot of people seem to complain about the noise but it’s really not that bad once it gets later in the evening / during the night while sleeping. And if you’re keen on riding I’d definitely do it. Sean took me out and he’s a really sweet man. Nice to have a chat while I was on my solo road trip across the states

Jessie was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions I had. It was a convenient and tidy campsite for what I required and it was a very unique setting. I know some people speak about the road noise but I didn't find it too bad during the sleeping hours. I would recommend, especially during the spring run off when the creek is flowing I bet its super tranquil!

We got there late and last minute Jessie was kind enough to accept our request! When we got there we were detected to the camp site and the next day we did the petting zoo my niece loved it! Jessie has a son around the same age who was very sweet! My niece loved every second!

We loved camping at Nate & Tara’s farm. Easy to find and relatively private. Tara met us when we drove in, gave us a few options to where to set up our tent, and encouraged us to walk around and meet the animals. (We had no idea that turkeys slept in trees and were fascinated watching them all get up there). We really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again if we are ever in the area.

Jessie was really nice, super sweet of her to open their home to use their restroom as needed. It was a nice spot to stay for the price. I loved being right by the little river. I was in my van, I didn’t have an issue with the road noise, but I came prepared unlike those who didn’t properly read the description! It’s great for when you need a quick spot overnight! They’ll provide you firewood if you ask.

Second Chance Ranch was the perfect place to stay for a quick night! Was so great to go to sleep to the sound of the creek and wake up to the horses. Their description of their place is perfect. Not a space for a family or an extended stay. But 1 or 2 people for 1 or 2 nights, don’t think twice. Beautiful, simple space with incredibly kind hosts!
