Learn more about this land: Welcome to Capitol Reef Country! Road to the Sun Ranch is located in beautiful Grover, Utah (elev 7,200') along Scenic Highway 12, one of the most scenic drives in the United States. We are a pet friendly RV only campsite. The property is a short 6 mile drive from the quaint town of Torrey, host of the annual Fort Desolation Festival and 15 miles by car from Capitol Reef National Park. Our location provides RV travelers with an ideal base camp for exploring the natural wonders of this region of Southern Utah and the majestic Boulder Mountain. The property consists of mostly pasture land, desert sage, pinyon pine trees and panoramic mountain views. The ranch is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery anywhere and endless outdoor opportunities! We have a single (self check-in) RV/trailer/van parking area complete with water, power, sewer, WiFi and picnic table. All guests MUST have their own bathroom, clean up after pets and pack out any trash. We are unable to accommodate tent or car camping anywhere on the property unless you are with a group that has a trailer or RV equipped with a bathroom available for use during your stay and no open wood burning fires are permitted at this time. Max trailer length is 28'. Max RV length is 35'.  Class A motor homes are not recommended. Livestock enjoy the adjacent pastures during Summer and Fall months typically (June-September). Beautiful and peaceful setting. Very clear directions and instructions. It was wonderful having full hook-up! And an extra nice surprise to receive a gift of coffee! Thank you! It was close to the parks we wanted to visit and our dog enjoyed some off-leash time with us. We very much enjoyed our stay there and most definitely would stay again.

Wonderful peaceful spot. Minor road noise, but not intrusive. Overall it feels isolated with no near neighbors. Great view across the pasture to Boulder Mountain. Hookups worked well. Easy entry. We love staying here for a few days every year to do hikes in Capitol Reef and Boulder Mtn, as well as biking . Always worth the drive to Boulder for a dinner at Hells Backbone Grill.

An Unforgettable Stay in a Hidden Gem! Staying at this cave house in Boulder Utah was like stepping into another world. Nestled into the red rock cliffs, the home blends naturally into its surroundings while offering comfort and character you won't find anywhere else. The interior is cozy and thoughtfully designed, with all the essentials-plus some magical touches that make the space feel like a retreat from reality. The highlight? The private swimming hole just a short walk from the cave. Refreshing water sounded by canyon walls-it was the perfect way to cool off and enjoy the desert landscape. We spent our mornings sipping coffee at the cave's entrance with breathtaking views, and afternoons relaxing by the water or exploring nearby trails. What really made this place special were the animals. Friendly horses roam the property. A sweet dog was our constant companion during morning coffee and a laid-back cat made itself at home on our porch, adding a homey feel. It felt like staying in a little desert sanctuary with its own four-legged welcoming committee. If you are looking for something truly off the beaten path-with beauty, peace, and a touch of wild magic-this is the place. It is totally different-peaceful, off-grid and unforgettable. We didn't want to leave! Perfect for adventurous couples or small families who want to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. We spent our annual girls trip staying here. Highly recommend!

It was so nice to have a private spot to go to. We travel with our dogs and a cat and at regular rv parks or campgrounds the dogs would hear every movement. ROAD TO SUN RANCH WAad private with nice views. They even left us coffee, which was great.

This place was so incredible, unique, amazing, magical. All of the things! The cave is breathtaking, and we all still can't believe he did almost all of it by hand. The beds were comfy, and there were all of the amenities you would need. Grant is such an incredible human, and how he has transformed the land and brought it to life is beyond admirable. Be sure to take the time to chat with him, hear his story, and learn about all of the incredible things he is doing. Loved every minute of our stay, and will definitely be back.

We had a great 6 night stay with our 2 dogs at Road to the Sun Ranch. It was very private, a good respite from our days in Capitol Reef National Park. There are a number of places near the location (and outside the Park) for us to give our dogs exercise before we headed out for our own adventures.
