Bryce Canyon National park is only a 1 hour’s drive away. Zion’s national park is only a 1 1/2 hour’s drive away. Cedar canyon is only a 20 min drive away and boasts beautiful canyons with evergreen trees, aspens, ponds, trails, and waterfalls. Cedar Breaks National Park is only a 20-30 min drive away with spectacular rock cliffs and overlooks. Brianhead ski and mountain bike resort is also only a 30 min drive away. This is a central location with endless possibilities to go exploring the amazing outdoors. This is a private residential property in a neighborhood with lot sizes ranging from 1 to 10 acres. There is only one RV site so it’s much quieter than a public campground. The driveway area circles around the private home so it is easy to pull your RV through to the RV pad/spot. Please realize your respect to this property and neighborhood is of utmost importance. There are neighbors with cows, geese, chickens, goats, dogs and pigs so realize it’s not as quiet as some places but still more private than many public venues. We also respect you, so please look at pictures and read descriptions. I am happy to answer any questions before you book. There is only one RV site here. You could put a tent up in the dirt but I don’t recommend it as I can’t imagine it would be very comfortable. There are horses in corrals, my people and dog friendly dog is off-leash, and there are 5 barn cats who roam free on the property (2 of which are as friendly as dogs). All persons staying on the property will need to sign a liability waiver since it is a horse property and horses are present. My horses aren’t offered for riding but ask about other ways you can interact with them if you desire. At no additional cost you can help care for them, brush them, and learn a few fun facts about them. For a fee you can get guided experiences with them on the ground (not in the saddle), do breath work sessions with them, and learn basic horsemanship skills.

While here, we enjoyed mountain bike riding at Iron Hills and Three Peaks (only 5 miles away...). We also explored Cedar City a bit. We'll be back in the future, and would absolutely stay here again. I really loved my time at the Gypsy King cottage! What a beautiful and well thought out space to stay in. Russell was a very good host and communicated promptly when I reached out to him. The cabin and the property is so peaceful absolutely gorgeous! I hope to come back and stay for longer next time. I didn’t have the time to try the sauna. My dog loved the fenced in yard and made good friends with the neighbors adorable blue and red heelers! Thanks again Russell😊🙏✨

I loved the scenery at the campsite, the restrooms were very clean. Having WiFi was very helpful but did not reach most of the tent camping spots. Besides that I enjoyed it and so did my dog, he had a lot of space to run around.

A camp I’ll be returning to! A fully equipped outdoor kitchen (the hot water kettle was a great surprise for a cold morning). The bathroom and shower was clean and an easy walk from any site. I appreciated the wooden platform as it was a rainy night and it kept me dry and off the ground. A great experience overall for sure!

7 nights at Zion Family Ranch Campground and RV

I think we got the best of seven sites…#5 sits right on the edge of the pond under a tree with a bench facing the water’s edge. The pavilion and bathrooms are both within a short walk and the fire ring was perfect for early October mornings and evenings. Highway 89 is somewhat close so you can still be reminded that civilization is close by but not enough to matter for us. We chose to leave our site early because Mother Nature decided to throw rain, wind, thunder and lightning nearly every night of our stay. Sometimes the lightning and thunder was simultaneous meaning it was about a mile away. We will return because the facility is great and situated between Blyth and Zion, our two favorite National Parks. Thank you Beth & Jeremy for creating such a beautiful camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Gypsy’s Cottage

Russell’s cottage matches the photos, clean while also cozy. The cob structure is really beautiful, and fire wood provided was so nice. A wood fired sauna is a treat and an outdoor bath, looking towards the Big Dipper was very special! This is a precious place to stay, and there’s lots of incredible hiking, climbing, and mountain biking with an hour drive. Also the neighbor dogs came to visit which we loved. Thank you Russell and hope to visit again sometime.
