CD&J Mini Ranch

4 sites · RVs, Tents35 acres · TX
CD&J Mini Ranch is a 35-acre farm and ranch in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. We became Certified Naturally Grown and started thinking about and implementing ways to treat our land better. We raise and sell beef, pork, chickens, eggs, holiday turkey and seasonal vegetables. We are on a lake that normally has a lot of fish, but due to the extreme drought we have experienced, the lake is dry, but we still have excellent bird watching. It is the first time that our lake has dried up and it is definitely due to our extra hot and dry year. We have a quiet place for you to rest with enjoy the sounds of our animals. We have picnic tables under shade trees and an available flushing outhouse for those in smaller camping set ups.We really love what we do here at our mini ranch and hope you will too.

Goats Gone Wild!

We started our farm in 2010 with the desire to teach our kids about hard work and where food really comes from. We purchased goat milk after our daughter had trouble digesting cow milk as a child. Then we bought a goat, and a few more, and the rest is history! We now sell cheese and milk all over the Rio Grande Valley and throughout Texas via HEB!Learn more about this land:Set up camp here at Thompson Dairy Farms, a small goat dairy located about 15 minutes off the coast of the southern tip of Texas. A fully functioning farm complete with about 70 dairy goats, cows, chickens, ducks, pigs, guinea fowl, and a donkey! Bathroom and showers available, as well as breakfast!

Mis Raices

7 sites · RVs, Tents2 acres · Delmita, TX
Being a part of the Spanish & Mexican Land Grant granted to Francisco Farias by Spain in 1808.....but there is no copy in the Texas General Land Office of this title....the land was confirmed by the Legislature, Act of February 10, 1852, and said tract was also called "Santa Cruz" (Confirmation No. 6 for the County of Starr) My heritage is very important to me. I have followed my roots back to early 1700s. You will have a glimpse of my story. The water container on the property is almost 100 years old. The stones were harvested from nearby.Learn more about this land:We are a small hole in south Texas. My paternal grandfather migrated to the Rio Grande Valley and bought his piece of Mis Raices. (My roots)You will witness the most amazing view of the stars @ night. You will hear and hopefully see the wild. Birds, deer, rabbits, fresh air.

In the afternoon, you can enjoy a barbecue in the outdoor dining table at the main cabin or picnic table in your campsite and at night, light the fire pit and enjoy a S'more while looking up the stars. You can also bring your ATVs, bicycles or horses and use the ranch trails, not through the pasture, with and under your responsibility (bring your own feed for your horses and pets, we do not have stables, therefore your horses must rest tied in a designated place or in your trailer, likewise your dogs must be on a leash, only trained dogs, hunt or prey breeds are not allowed).
