Very comfortable stay with heaters to keep it warm even with overnight temperatures being cold. Bus was hooked up to power and water and gas making it a fully equipped place to stay for a quick shower, using the toilet, and cooking. I even got a little hot at one point the first night with the heaters and warm clothing. Easy to find, easy to park, and not too far away from the suburbs and downtown

Super cute camping spot with access to a beautiful pond and lots of free-roaming farm animals. Our host was amazing and very accommodating! Will definitely stay there again.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this private campsite! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the owners truly care about providing an exceptional experience. The site was impeccably maintained, with clean facilities, well-marked trails, and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the beauty of nature. What truly stood out was the tranquility—no noisy crowds, just the peaceful sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves. The privacy made it feel like our own little slice of paradise. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, offering helpful tips about the area while respecting our space. The amenities were thoughtfully designed, from a cozy fire pit with plenty of wood to convenient access to clean water and even some charming touches like solar string lights. Whether you’re an experienced camper or just looking for a serene getaway, this site is perfect. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to return! This was the perfect place to get away from the well mannered frivolity at RenFest but still feel like we were enjoying the great outdoors disconnected from the digital world. The camp was clean and quiet. We never found the showers but only stayed a night. The Zen Den was just what we needed after a fun day of eating, drinking and being a tad too merry!

The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)! Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. The closest city is about a 20 minute drive to Somerville so make sure to have everything you need before camping.
