The SBRC crew were very generous to upgrade our stay to the RV so that we could sit right by the river, since the water conditions were too risky for tubing. They were there to greet us and get us situated and settled in when we arrived and went above and beyond accommodating my late booking. Cell reception is weak (its in the country) so messages sometimes take a few minutes to go thru. Everything was very well kept with all amenities provided for, and SBRC even went out of their way to set us up with a fishing pole and some firewood. The small local grocery up the road had everything that we needed saving us the trip into town. Sitting by the river enjoying the sunshine was paradise for us, and I really look forward to going back again soon.

I had such a wonderful time visiting this campsite! Barry the host was just wonderful, extremely accommodating and great company. I would recommend a stay here to anyone! My boyfriend and I did a little fishing, some swimming, enjoyed music by campfire but still got to catch the clippers game ;) perfect glamping/getaway destination!

I loved coming here, Barry made it a whole vibe and so much better! Great company. The people property is beautiful and peaceful. It’s quirky and fun! I really enjoyed my time and the place was comfortable.

I had a wonderful time at Gypsy Moon. Amy was very accommodating and the people there were all very friendly. I had an ideal campsite that was right on the river. Beautiful views and lots of nice public spaces. I hope to return soon with my family for kayaking. . I think the grandkids will love it!

I cannot put into words how magical this place is! Barry was really nice, greeted us upon arrival and then gave us space to venture out and explore the land. He even came out with his guitar and joined us around the campfire with some good tunes (I told him I wanted to hear him play!). Just all around good vibes and will definitely be going back! Thank you Barry for sharing this gem of a place with us.

We had a great time at Amy’s place. We stayed at the primitive camp site, but everything was very close by and convenient. They had everything you needed on the property. The animals that lived there were awesome, especially Dirk the goat! I could have just watched the baby goats playing for hours! There were so many songbirds, and the stargazing was great. There were kayaks for rent, that could use a little updating, but while they wouldn’t be for a serious kayaker, (who would have their own gear), they were probably good enough for a novice to play around with. New paddles and seats would be nice. All in all it was a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our getaway. Barry came out and greeted us, very nice guy and not pushy. There is a common area for anyone/everyone to hang out in. He has a crows nest on the top of his house, which he allows people to go up, beautiful view. Definitely go up there. Lots of cardinals. There might have been other birds also but those are the only ones I saw. Lots of bluebonnets a few other wild flowers. His landscape looks nice. It rained part of the time and the few parts that were dirt did Not get muddy. The lake was very close and was nice to look out at. We were very happy about that because it meant we could still go wonder around. I brought my dog, she enjoyed smelling everything. There were 2 other dogs that were possibly free roam from a neighbor, they were very nice. The male dog loved pets and tried to politely try and get treats. The RV is tiny. Lots of extra comforters and towels. It did fit us just fine, I did need a min to get used to it. 😆 Everything was in working order. Barry was very accommodating and brought us over some firewood.

Located at the end of the road. There is over 20 acres. Some cleared and some still in original woods. Trees, grass and deer everywhere. There is over a quarter mile of Brazos riverfront property although you cannot get to the river on all of it due to it being in its natural state. There is a beach at the main camp that provides easy in and out of the water. the water depth varies with the rainfall but is usually between 2-4 feet deep.

This campsite is the first in our campground, so guests will have private access to the entire ridgeline & hiking trails cut through the 7.3 acers into the creek bed below. SAFTEY NOTES: The terrain is rocky and can be quite steep in places with some drop offs. Not recommended for small children or pets that are not well trained. We also share the land with lots of wildlife! Please be aware at all times and keep an eye out for snakes & spiders! You may also hear wild boars in the creek bed at night. SITE AMENITES `This site includes a 10x14, Kodiak' canvas tent that will be completely set up with the essentials including Water & Electric, bed & linens & outdoor chairs. We like to keep it super cozy but simple inside to make sure there is plenty of space for guest's personal things. Stargazing, birdwatching, & hiking the trails are a few things many of our guests enjoy the most. We also have access to a public boat ramp in the neighborhood. Guests will also have access to over 9000 aces of public hunting lands managed by the Army Corp. of Engineers. Meridian State Park & Lake Whitney State Park are each about a 30min drive.
