1 night at Liberty Hill Hideaway Lake Retreat

Truly the most special of any campsite I had the pleasure of visiting this summer. Imagine the coolest home you could think of, with so much character and a clubhouse… and the host built it all himself! Barry is so kind and cool and considerate, I only wish I had planned to stay longer than overnight.

Weekend Trip to Bee Mountain River Resort

The host were very accommodating and friendly. The tent site that was reserved for us was the best Tent site had really good tree shade, space, privacy, and views! As mentioned in the description, cell service was little (T-Mobile) or next to nothing (Visible), which was perfectly fine for us and expected. Restroom near the site was great and convenient. Minimal road noise, we noticed the train sounds more. Overall great site and will be back again!

This was my first Hipcamp stay and Sam and Sarah came to meet us shortly after we arrived and had everything ready as we pulled in. Hook up was great. They have great amenities. Sam spoke to us about his slice of heaven and walked with me to meet his chickens. Thank you so much. We will be back

Weekend Trip to Quiet Horse farm with Baby Horses

A superb weekend destination. If you are interested in spending more time with horses this place is the best! At the night, two times I saw horses racing within their pasture under dark sky filled with stars. I didn't know that, such an amazing view to see! Very clean, very kind, peaceful, near zero bugs, and stable 50 amp for EV camping. One of best stargazing night around Dallas we had.

Camping experience was great! The river level was high making it difficult to access the water, so the kids couldn’t splash around without an adult helping them get in and out, but other than that everything was fantastic!

2 nights at Country Woods Inn

The Santa Fe car is at the edge of a meadow and some woods, with a cluster of other accommodations ranging from campsites, airstreams and a cabin where a hostess cat lives who greets all the guests. She came knocking on our door and stayed with us, to our delight, throughout our stay. And there is no extra charge for vacation kitty! The train car is cleverly outfitted with all the comforts and everything you need for them: cooking pots and utensils, dinnerware, wine glasses and corkscrew. The hot water is steaming. The small refrigerator was plenty big enough for us and has a freezer shelf with two mini cube ice trays, but for larger groups consider bringing in some ice with you. The bunk beds are as steady as trees and so roomy under the canopy that only the very tall might have to bend to clear it. For us, it was like a small room. The mattresses are both soft and supportive. A town vendor said the car had been outfitted and adorned for the owner’s grandchildren, and we certainly benefitted from the thoughtfulness, playfulness and considerations that have been lovingly put into it. A small jar is offered for collecting fireflies darting outside. We gladly unplugged with no WiFi or tv signal there, when there were so many books, games and dvds for entertainment. Instead though we opted for star watching, deer spotting, and loving on the petting animals at the main hub. We plan to return often for the rest and rejuvenation we found easily in the woods by the river

West features Czech Bakeries, & old town square shopping. Don’t forget mosquito spray, bedding, and drinking water. There is plenty of dead wood for fire, but you may want something to cut it into smaller pieces. Please don’t go too big or crazy with fire. Conditions can be very dry. Keep the wood burning fireplace in the tent to small fires please. It has various trees on property with cedar, live oak, post oak, etc. Campsites are in front of a wide waterfall which is about 5 feet in height. You can fall asleep with the sound of the waterfalls! We have three ground tent sites and two 14 by 14 deck sites if you want to be up off the ground. Each site has a fire ring and electricity. There are well-marked trails across the creek which go to a meadow and a big treehouse I built several years ago. Glen Rose has several restaurants known for barbecue and Mexican food. Granbury is 25 minutes away with lots of shopping and restaurants around their historic town square. Glen Rose also has a town square.
