We had the best time at McDonald’s Farm! From splashing in the river to hanging out fireside this is the spot! Our kids loved seeing the pigs, chickens, and horse, as well as exploring the property. The hosts were amazing! They had a great spot for making coffee set up for us and always were quick to answer questions and assist our group. Thanks for a great weekend!

Tent camping made easy! Lovely spaces to choose from. Literally a farm! Horse, chickens, pigs!! Outdoor bathroom & shower available. Beautiful areas by the river, just a small hike. Definitely will come back to stay by the river! Extremely informative and friendly host. So worth the drive. Lovely drive to Georgetown if you forget anything. My pups and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay! The experience exceeded my expectations. We loved how much thought and consideration the hosts put into everything. The description was accurate and informative and the host was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the private river access. It was peaceful and rejuvenating; we will definitely stay here again! My dogs didn’t want to leave. We saw a few snakes, carp, raccoon and deer by the river but bugs were not an issue. Cell service (T-Mobile) was a little spotty at the river, not bad though. The outdoor shower was nice to be able to clean up after playing in the river with my dogs. Definitely check out the little farm stand while you’re there! There were fresh eggs and jellies for sale when we were there.

4 nights at McDonald Farm

Had a great weekend! Hot showers, clean porta potty, and plenty of firewood for us to use! Owner was super helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed the fresh eggs they sold that we cooked for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Second time at this site, and it was a great stay again. Hosts are super friendly and the property is nice. Conveniently located just outside Georgetown. Will definitely stay here again!

2 nights at P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

We had fun tent camping at the farm. Got to meet a cute sheep and brush a pony. The space was private and nice so close to the river. The swing was a plus and our kids had so much fun. Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Orrasis Ranch

This is my second time hosting a retreat at the McDonald farm, I’ve never felt more comfortable with a host. Samantha goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is amazing. This weekend it was raining when we arrived and Samantha shuttled some of the guest over to us so their cars wouldn’t get stuck and helped them with their luggage. The other host upon arrival was extremely helpful as well and eased any concern I had with the weather before I even had to ask. I’m so grateful for their kindness and Samantha’s quick and easy communication. The land is so beautiful and literally my favorite spot out of Georgetown and other surrounding areas. I will never not go back to the McDonald farm, I can’t wait til next time !

I LOVED the Bait House! It was just the right size for a getaway with myself and my dog. I think 2 adults max would be comfortable here. It had everything I needed and more. The outdoor shower was a delightful experience. The only downside for me was they have chickens and roosters on the property and I was awoken by the cock-a-doodle-do before dawn every morning. The house was is located near a few parks so we were able to enjoy hiking within 10 minutes from the property. Downtown Marble Falls is also about 10 min away if you want local dining experiences, which I did grab takeout from 2 different restaurants while I was there. Overall it was a nice little getaway and great location!

Beautiful weekend in nature with hiking, happy farm animals, camping shenanigans. There’s an outdoor sink, potable water, and a regular toilet. There’s a very nice communal area with picnic seating/kitchen that’s lit by night with cute string lighting. My favorite part was the walk in the woods down to the river where we met the 600-800 year old pecan Mother Tree. Then at the river we waded, the doggies swam and everyone took a nap in the sun. We all love animals dearly, and i surprised the group with the mini-horse grooming. Snickerdoodle was looking so cute after we brushed out her hair!

tent camping at p2 farm was great! we had to move to the pasture due to some rain at the river site creating lots of mud but we still enjoyed the river all day. would come back.

The property was so beautiful! After raining all week, we showed up to a perfect river site. Our dogs loved the water and sleeping next to the horses and sheep. We camped with a large group of (14 people total) and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable.

Had a great time! Under the mother tree site is beautifully tucked away in the forest with the river nearby. We loved watching the horses and trail riders pass through. Plenty of room for two tents. 10/10 would camp here again!

I had such a wonderful time out on this ranch! Mikayla and her partner were so cool, personable, and welcoming. I did the farm tour, horseback riding, and camped under the Mother tree. I had my small dog with me and she did so well in the presene of the farm animals. :)

Weekend Trip to Hamilton Pool Vineyards & Farms

We loved McDonald's Farm! Beautiful space with infinite firewood and it was so fun visiting the different animals. The roosters can be a bit loud at any time of night but not a deal breaker depending on which site you're at. There is a two lane road nearby that you can hear but you get used to it! The host met us when we got there and gave us a thorough run down of the place and was readily available via text if we had questions

Super shady with trees and easy access to the Vineyard. Was a very clean area.

We are now offering daytime river access to the San Gabriel River! This is a secluded, hike to spot for fishing, swimming, grilling, picnicing, and hanging out during the day. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee, or we offer day passes for non-campers! There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities.
