Weekend Trip to Off Grid Stargazer

We loved our first stay at Lynda’s. Ruston took care of us mainly from picking the best spot that suit us, we had a great time and this is the place if you want to experience the real “Southern Hospitality”. They have bathrooms, showers, even a kitchen, literally everything. It’s a 200 acres land so you won’t have to worry about bumping up with other campers, you can be as private or involved as you wish. We will be back for sure!! And thank y’all again for making this stay great for us.

We loved camping on Lon’s land! Area was nicely maintained, designated camping areas were clearly identified and easy to get to. Trees were beautiful and offered a nice private shady area to tuck away. We had no problem fitting our full size Tundra and had plenty of room to make home for the weekend. Directions were very easy to follow and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be back for more visits!

2 nights at The Retreat @ Borah Farm

We enjoyed the peaceful and quietness of the pond site. the vast property is a great place to walk and explore. We foraged for wild Blackberry's for a tasty cobbler. The horses on the property are friendly and a very nice addition. Our miniature schnauzer and we enjoyed getting acquainted with the horses and they followed us around while we foraged and explored the property. We will be back!

It’s an ideal woodsy campsite with a picnic bench, clean outhouse as advertised, flat spots for tents and a pond. The frogs were not too loud at night by the pond - just the right amount of nature sounds. We took the row boat out and used the life jackets from the chest by the pond (beware of aggressive wasps in the chest! They keep wasp spray in the porta potty.) It was about a 1/3 mile walk (or bike ride) to the wedding venue to use the nice showers and kitchen. The VERY big and loud but VERY smart and friendly (don’t be scared) family dog guided us along the trail to and from the venue. Highlight for us! Lynda and Ruston were so welcoming and accommodating. We saw that is was supposed to rain by 5am and Ruston offered to move us closer to venue. (But we slept in our van so we could stay at the campsite.) And we got so lucky that we happened to be there for Easter Sunday and we were invited to the family breakfast and egg hunt. Perfect for our 4 year old and so thoughtful. Then we got to meet all the farm animals. Just a magical time!

The property is absolutely stunning—beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, and a perfect escape into nature. Every corner felt like a hidden gem, from the scenic trails to the serene spots ideal for relaxing and taking it all in. What made the experience even better were the hosts. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. You can really tell they care about their land and the people who visit it. I can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Triple C Ranch

The property is stunning and very peaceful - a perfect escape into nature. Every corner felt like a hidden gem, from the scenic trails to the serene spots ideal for relaxing and taking it all in. Hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. You can really tell they care about their land and the people who visit it. We can’t wait to come back!

Great place. The views and people here are amazing. If you’re ever around and need to camp out this is the place you should stay.

1 night at The W of Texas

My second time out to the location. Grass was a little longer this time but it didn't take away from my ability to setup camp, make a good meal, and relax enjoying the outdoors. Though every place in Texas has them, I didn't run into any ant hills where I setup.

We were luckily the only ones camping this weekend so they allowed us to camp wherever.☺️ we ended up by the catfish pond and absolutely enjoyed it! Our dogs were having so much fun swimming & we paddled out on the water. Hiking the property was pretty fun too! Their dogs did show up to say hi & even followed us around some of the property :) luckily our dogs are friendly. We loved it :)

1 night at Diamond JK Boyd Ranch

Kelly’s land was absolutely wonderful for a weekend of tent camping. The Sterling pond campsite was so spacious and serene. The fields of flowers were beautiful to walk around in and the forest hikes were so peaceful. We definitely felt like we were alone in the wilderness and it was so perfect. I would highly recommend!

A beautiful ranch to enjoy tranquility. So green, a beautiful pond. Laundry on site too was a great thing to have access to on a long trip. Would love to come again if we come through that way again.

2 nights at Coppergate Ranch

Host was very kind and helpful! Beautiful spot to camp for the weekend and had great amenities. Would definitely recommend to someone!

This camp ground is beautiful and peaceful. An abundance of dogwoods, pine, and other trees. Catfish pond was the first thing we saw when we got up in the morning. So calming watching the water and listening to the morning birds singing while we sipped our coffee. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful and always available. My family and I will be adding this wonderful site to our favorite campgrounds.

Outstanding place to stay. Perfect for a fishing trip to Lake Fork. It was nice to have a shelter from the weather.

Weekend Trip to Caddo Springs Farm

Beautiful nature and native wildlife. Tom gave us a tour of his animals, explain what they do, and let us hold a baby lamb! Definitely one of favorite camping trips ever and can't wait to come back.

Great little quick getaway of solitude from the large crowds of a state park and having an area all to ourselves. The tree frogs were an added touch to the ambiance.

Weekend Trip to The W of Texas

Great spot, super secluded. Would be humid and full of bugs in the summer but perfect for spring and late fall camping

The land is expansive, perfect for group camping with plenty of flat, open space. It can get windy, and the hum of the interstate is noticeable, but it never distracted from the peaceful outdoor experience or a restful night’s sleep. I look forward to returning, whether with others or for another solo getaway.

It was a great location that was peaceful and Harlan was a great host who was helpful and kind. We enjoyed the farm atmosphere and having the goats wandering by now and then!

I had the most amazing stay at this charming small cottage! The place was cozy, spotless, and surrounded by beautiful scenery that made it feel like a true getaway. These campsites are in a peaceful clearing surrounded by forest with a wide open view of the sky. Expect to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and the sounds of many birds welcoming the day. Most nights we get to enjoy the sounds of several different types of owls. The property has over 1 full mile of nature trails to walk with several seasonal creeks. We also offer farm fresh eggs when available. We are only 10 minutes from Lake Bob Sandlin or 15 minutes from Lake Cypress Springs. The small surrounding towns have several local eateries, fast food, grocery, and fuel options to choose from. Campsites are reachable by capable cars, trucks, SUVs, camper vans, and some vehicles towing small overland style trailers, teardrop, or pop up trailers. NOT accessible by Class B Plus or larger, Travel Trailers, or Fifth Wheels. Small Class B, Sprinter style, and similar should be ok.
