We have luxury treehouses nestled along a crystal clear creek with 100 acres of hills and woods.  Pecan and Oak trees fill the landscape as you meander through 2 miles of cleared forest pathways. This trailer was produced by Spartan Aircraft Company in Tulsa, OK.  Owned by oil tycoon, J. Paul Getty, the factory switched from making airplanes to making trailers shortly after World War II, using the same aluminum and manufacturing process used for the airplanes -- making these some of the finest trailers ever produced.  On our property we also have a 1957 Spartan Mansion, a 1955 Spartan Mansion, a 1953 Spartanette, a 1960 Airstream, a 1969 Airstream, a 1963 Avion, and a 1965 Streamline -- all unrestored and in various stages of disrepair.   Learn more about this land:The 1959 Imperial Villa is one of the largest and most luxurious trailers produced by Spartan Aircraft Co. This fully-restored vintage park model (10'x45', triple axle) offers all the comforts of home with amazing original mid-century modern furnishings.  Step back in time and experience the beauty and tranquility of simpler days on our 11-acre, mostly-wooded homesite. Constructed of aircraft aluminum, the all-original interior is birch accented by walnut and brass. Almost all the furnishings are period pieces, fascinating to see and experience -- like entering a hands-on museum from the 1950s. Nestled in the trees and surrounded on all sides by curtained windows, the interior living space has an open, yet cozy feeling. There's a full-sized bathtub/shower, a full-sized & fully equipped kitchen (though it is not fully stocked with food), an on-demand hot water heater, and a two-ton heat pump which thermostatically controls the climate.

Fieldsong Farm

In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners!
Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
 We farm organic vegetables,  and have planted some fruit trees.We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state.

Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed!  Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins.  Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony.  When the sun comes up, you'll have many choices to make--cycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, running, strolling, visiting with the goats, cats and chickens, helping with farm chores, or just sitting to enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm.  There are many great shopping and eating choices withing 15 miles.  
Breakfast will be brought to your campsite for an additional fee, booked in advance.  Horse pasture rentals is available, also booked in advance.  (We do not offer horseback riding,)  Eggs, local honey, seasonal veggies, baked goods artisan food products, goat milk products and firewood are available for sale.  
No dirt bikes, ATVs or RTVs; no motorcycles except as transportation.  No discharge of firearms allowed.  No hunting, no bows and arrows, no fireworks.

The Indigo Hills Prairie & Wildflow

The very best native blackland prairie known to exist in the world. The prairie is surrounded by trees with plenty of shade for camping. If you get hot, take a swim in the spring fed pond that has cool water currents in certain spots. Or take the kids fishing off the fishing pier, and if they don't catch one, I'll give your money back. Come see us,  enjoy nature and have fun.

Texas Lazy J Ranch

Our property is in the path of the vast area of the Chisholm Trail and in the Oliver Creek area where many  fossils have been found! We have found some rare fossils in size right here on our property and continue to look for more. Jesse James and his brother have a historical marker not far from our place where they had a campground. The bank where Bonnie and Clyde attempted to rob is located here in Ponder.Learn more about this land:We have a private cabin on the back of a 10 acre ranch with Fainting goats, chickens and horses to enjoy with great views across the prairie. Fossils from the past and antiques decorate our cabin so come and relax under the stars yet 20 minutes away from outlet mall by the Texas Motor Speedway, 20 minutes to historic Denton Square, and multiple eating and shopping options.

Lake Ray Roberts was still filling up.  There were hardly any large horse farms surrounding us when we moved from Dallas to get away from the cement jungle to enjoy our little slice of heaven.  Slowly, unfortunately, ever so surely, the big fancy horse farms and city people with bulldozers became our neighbors.  As all the surrounding properties lost its trees to make room for big houses with big gates out front we hung on tight to our little seven wooded acres which had become refuge for the wildlife being pushed off the property they once called home.  Until Lynn became disabled the red A-frame Cabin was used as her office and we converted the barn into our house which is behind the privacy fence from the Cabin.  Shortly before January 1, 2016 one of our backdoor neighbors who is a professional fisherman said: "I guarantee it, if you will rent that Cabin out to fisherman it will stay booked solid."  So, we set out to become the best kept secret in the fishing world - the best place for fishermen to stay.  Just like those fishing holes that you don't want anyone else to find out about, sure enough word spread and the secret was out.  The fisherman that had stayed while fishing tournaments told their friends and family about the Cabin and before long we had families staying for vacations, bachelorettes having parties, parents throwing birthday parties for their kids, girl's night out, anniversaries, after prom parties, romantic getaways, executive travelers, extended stays, and yes, still those fisherman.  In 2018 we added the Copper Can for couples only and the occasional additional friends wanting to throw up a tent outside or sleep on the daybeds located on the top deck of the Copper Can.  Now, we have guests booking their stay a year in advance just to make sure they get to stay on the date they desire.Considered the poor stepchild of the area, no advertisement out front, no big fancy gate, if you aren't looking for us you'll never find us.  Isn't it time you came home to your little red Cabin and its sidekick the Copper Can where memories are made?  See you soon whatever the case may be.  Let us spoil you.  We'll make it ready just for you and yours.  Learn more about this land:Luxury in the middle of a wooded pasture on seven acres two miles from Isle du Bois State Park at Lake Ray Roberts.  Space to pitch a tent, plenty of parking for a boat, full size deck on top with daybeds, and luxury inside the 53' Copper Can with full-size modern kitchen, rain shower and Japanese soaker tub, washer/dryer combo, 10' sofa in front of ethanol burning fireplace and wall-mounted HDTV, vibrating adjustable queen-size bed, live edge black walnut bench and table for dining, Chandelier that projects shadows throughout as if you're in a mystical forest.  Front porch, Fire pit, charcoal BBQ grill and outdoor furniture for your exceptional experience.
