Located just 2 miles off I-10, 8 miles to the West of Sierra Blanca, and 80 miles South/South-East of El Paso. This property is truly a part of the "OLD WEST". Sierra Blanca was named after Sierra Blanca Mountain, just North-West of town. The town came into existence when competing railroads for a second (Southern) transcontinental railroad line came within 10 miles of one another in 1881. Jay Gould, famous railroad magnate and robber baron, drove a silver spike commemorating the event on Dec. 15th 1881. The town sprang up around that spot, although the population didn't reach 350 people until 1914. It is best described as grazing land that is flat to slightly sloping terrain covered with desert sagebrush and grasses. Learn more about this land: Primitive campsites offer nice views, solitude, and a small flat space to set up camp next to your vehicle. No shade, toilets (bring your own), or other amenities are provided at this time but are in the works. Sierra Blanca has mild winters and very hot summers but the desert can get cold at night. The weather is generally sunny but come prepared for changing conditions. This is not a commercial campground. Site is great for large groups. Larger RVs have trouble turning or parking so please no rvs over 26 ft. Bring your own toilet. Wildlife include rabbits and hares, javelina, woodcock, teal, sandhill crane, quail, pronghorn, mule deer, duck, dove, rattlesnake, rails, gallinules, and moorehens, toads and a variety of lizards. Please be aware of the 3 day cancellation policy. A full refund may initiated if you cancel at least 3 days prior to arrival. Thank you.

Nestled only 0.6 of a mile off of Highway 62/180 in Hudspeth County (On North Howling Wind Road), Texas, this Ranch offers four 30'x60' RV sites, and four 20'x30' RV sites. There is ample Hiking nearby (Sierra Tinaja Pinta, Cerro Diablo, and Miller Mountain in The Cornudas Mountains), and the site is only about twenty miles West of the Guadalupe Mountains National Park. When you need to reconnect with city life, El Paso is only about 45 minutes away, and the small town of Dell City is only 20 minutes away the county seat, Sierra Blanca, just 40 minutes away. We welcome Families, Meditators, Yogis, Saints and Sages, Overlanders, Hikers, Mountain Bikers, Motorhome Enthusiasts, Snow Birds, Sun Gazers, Bush Pilots, Equestrians, Paragliders, Baloonists, Kite flyers, and anyone who's out there to enjoy the natural beauty of West Texas and the world in general. We ask that our guests pack in and pack out what they bring. As we are a newcomer to Hipcamp, we do not have any RV hook-ups, or out-houses yet. We also explicitly request that our guests not bring any drugs or alcohol on the site--this is a dry listing--we don't like drugs and alcohol, they bring demons, and we don't like demons. Also, we support the Second Amendment, but ask that our guests not discharge firearms on the site unless it's an emergency. We love dogs, but if your dog is big and aggressive, not very obedient, and potentially dangerous to other people, kids, and small pets, we ask that you keep your buddy on a leash and make sure that he/she doesn't get into trouble. Thanks. P.S. P>T Ranch is a Private Member Association, owned and operated by a private trust, and all it takes to become a member for life is to book a night and complete your reservation.

Beautiful desert land with a view of Hueco Tanks State Park. This land is barely starting up so do not expect any glamping or 5 star facilities. There is electricity for RVs or window units for tents. There is a little trash here and there but I am working on cleaning this place up. Be patient and enjoy it for what it is. All natural! Be safe, this is the desert and home to critters, spiders, horned frogs, lizards, ants, cayotes, and probably snakes although I haven't seen any. There is a little shed where you can cook, get some shade, or just relax. The mesquite trees are being worked on so they are not big enough to provide decent shade. Be safe, be smart and have water with you at all times. There is no water, and no showers. But I am working on it! This spot is perfect for those hip campers visiting Hueco Tanks and need a spot to park or rest. It's for hip campers that are used to primitive camping and also to the people in the city that want to get away for a night or two but not drive too far out. The sunsets and stargazing are amazing. Far from the city but close enough to a 10 min drive to a grocery store.
