We had a great experience at this campsite, and a big part of that was thanks to Tom! It rained the first night we were there, but Tom went above and beyond—he made sure we had dry firewood and even offered us a sheltered spot in case the rain got too intense for our tent. The site itself was well-maintained and peaceful. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming, well-run camping experience!!

The lodge is a beautiful place for the reception to take place outdoors and the Honeymoon Cottage makes for the perfect getaway afterwards. Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn

Learn more about this land: Situated just outside of Columbia, TN (one of the state's most up-and-coming cities) and right on the same road as our 11th President, James K. Polk, once lived - Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn are waiting to welcome you! Pull in, drive down the grass road and over the small creek, put it in park at the barn and go stretch your legs on the 4o+ acres surrounding. During the day, feel welcome to walk the serene meadows or take a cleared trail up the ridge to the treehouse! Don't be surprised to be greeted by all kinds of wildlife including deer, turkey, foxes, or our goofy, fun-loving Golden Doodle named "Shme." If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you prefer more peace and privacy, there are two beautiful meadows to choose from which both reach deeper into the property. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). There is power to the barn - providing light, 30AMP power for RV hookup, as well as an electrical receptacle that you can run your extension chords from. For the extra adventurous - you may want to take a hike up "Thornbush Trail," which follows the ridge right up the middle of the property and has beautiful views of both meadows to either side. Or, for a more direct route, take a walk right up our dirt access road to the upper ridge, where you can peek through the treeline for beautiful elevated views eastward toward Columbia. Our treehouse (in progress) is located right at the top of the access road. Though the treehouse has not yet been completed, feel free to climb the 20' ladder up the inside of the hollowed out trunk and pop your head out the top! It sure makes a great photo! Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion! For recreation (each within 15-20 minutes of the farm): 1. Williamsport Public Fishing Lakes for fishing or kayaking 2. Stillhouse Hollow Falls Trail 3. Maury County Park with paved walking trail Yummy food: 1. Welcome to 4J Farms! Upon driving to the end of B G Fort Road, continue uphill past the white sign. The Red Barn is located in the field around the last house on the road. There's a power hookup in the rear of the barn. The Red Barn has a port-a-potty, corn hole, jenga, playing cards, and a put golf game. It's the perfect spot for a family, a couple, a group of friends, or a solo stay. Ice and potable water is also available. A grill is available for use, and there's a firepit behind the Red Barn at the Hole In The Wall (check it out!). We also have a couple of nature trails available, and a steeper trail to the Holler at The Creek (bring your floats!). Please ask any questions, and let us know if there's anything we can do. View Jim and Mary's Ol' house seat and drink from the artesian spring where they got their water daily. Jim and Mary were quite industrious, along with their seven children. Picture their mule drawn wagon, sawmill, sorghum mill, and grist mill. Once upon a time, their family provided these services and many others to the community. Calico Junction Ranch

Located in the hills and high forests of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Calico Junction Ranch is a large, multi-faceted operation with over forty head of horses, breeding kennels for Long-Coat German Shepherds, and a modest Heritage Breed Hog farming operation. Occupied by Native Americans as early as 10,000 BC, the Chickasaw Indians hunted our hills in the 1500's, and the ranch property is located along the Cherokee "Trail of Tears." The ranch was later home to a miner named "Grizzly Jack"... You can visit his cabin during your stay. More recently, Calico Junction hosted benefits for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and we regularly host dinner trail rides on weekends. Calico Junction New Beginnings Ranch is our non-profit 501(c)3 providing Equine Assisted Therapy and a horse rescue. Because Calico Junction has so much to offer, we have joined Hipcamp in order to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful and relaxing ranch home. Go wading, collect rocks or hunt for arrowheads in Rockhouse Creek--you are almost certain to find them, the best free souvenirs! Take nature walks to see our abundant wildlife: deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits and squirrels, because they play here too! Tour the kennels and walk or brush the dogs upon request. Tell stories or play your guitar as you enjoy a relaxing evening campfire. Then listen to the Whippoorwills as they serenade you to sleep. You must arrive 1 hour prior to sunset.

At Crossing Creeks Farm, we are passionate about producing pasture-raised, organic, soy-free food for our family's table and yours. Come enjoy a unique farm stay in our campsite, complete with outdoor bathhouse & picnic pavilion. This site offers many comforts of home while still enjoying the outdoors unplugged. Upon arrival, park in front of our farm store where we will meet you with our tractor and wagon to load your belongings to be delivered to the campsite. Check-in is 2-6 pm Central time. Our private campsite sits in the bend of one of our farm's creeks with two large old trees in the middle, along with a fire pit, picnic pavilion, 2 Adirondack cabins, and an outdoor bathhouse. Whether you are booking for just yourself or a group up to 8, you have the entire campsite to yourself during your stay. Each Adirondack cabin can sleep up to 4. Each is complete with a queen bed and twin bunk beds. Please bring your own pillows, sheets and blankets. You will need to bring towels and washcloths for the outdoor bathhouse. The bathhouse includes a shower with hot water, toilet/changing stall, and outdoor sink for washing hands and dishes. There is no electricity in the campsite so please bring flashlights/lanterns. The pavilion and bathhouse have beautiful solar powered string lights that automatically come on at dark.
