Nestled on a sprawling 40 acre farm just 15 miles from downtown Nashville, this cozy cabin is a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature's beauty.
At the front of the property you will find horses in the paddocks as well as chickens, mini donkeys, a sheep, a pig, mini Highland cows, and dwarf Nigerian goats, all within the barnyard. A spring fed creek runs along the front of the property by the road and there is a stocked one acre pond near the main home. We loved it! The cabin is cozy and cute! Plenty of hiking onsite and friendly dogs/cats to keep you company! Helga was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave great local recommendations and even had fire wood ready for us on arrival! This was great because it had rained the day prior and we had dry wood! The hiking on her property is beautiful. Plenty of rock formations and views. Thank you for a great stay!

We had the best time at Sacred Dog Ranch this past weekend and feel like we made lifelong friends with Lisa and Gary. Our dog, Sage, played with his fellow Dal new friends, my daughter rode Fancy the gorgeous horse and we felt like instant family. It’s right outside Nashville and remote enough we didn’t feel like we were in a cookie cutter suburb. Lisa was so welcoming and generous with her authentic self. My kids and I loved our visit and will be back.

Sacred Dog Ranch is unreal! The hosts are the kindest people ever. We got to ride horses, hang out with the sweetest dogs, and even feed a fox (!!). The whole place feels open and peaceful—outdoor shower, hot tub, fresh tomatoes from the garden—it’s just the perfect spot to reset and recharge. Already dreaming about going back.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Haven Cabin
What a cool and artsy place to spend the night! I was just looking for a place to break up a long drive, but I’d love to go back and settle into the property and the area for longer. Helga really makes the most of the space, is a great steward of the land, and is even an advocate for local artists. I was surprised the WiFi was as good as it was, and the available tea and popcorn were so thoughtful. Directions are easy, drive there is beautiful. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the beautiful cabin for 1 night. We arrived late at night but they still welcomed us, showed us how to get to the cabin and how everything works there (outside shower, lights, power etc.). The cabin was very hidden from everything, very quiet, it felt like a real nature retreat. The whole property itself was also absolutely stunning, they have the sweetest animals, honestly they were so andorable and friendly, and you guys were so nice! Thank you again for everything! Btw, the dog and that one lighter brown horse are so cuddly and happy for visitors 😍 we would’ve loved to stay longer but we were on a tight time schedule.

Beautiful property and friendly hosts. My kids got to name kittens and enjoyed seeing all the livestock. We spent hours roaming around the gardens or in the woods, down to the creek. The cabin is very cool. My wife and I particularly enjoyed sitting on the porch for an afternoon rain storm. Quick drive to Lenny’s Country Kitchen for great food.

This was such a great experience and I will definitely be back next time I am in the area! Lisa was so welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. I made friends with all the dogs and even got a little cat drool in my lap. The cabin itself was a work of art, literally, and I was spoiled for a place to sleep. If youre into art, this place is a haven. My only regret is that I had to wake up and leave early to beat the rain.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Dog Ranch
Lisa is super friendly and willing to go out of her way to accommodate you if possible. The cabin my friend and I stayed in was one room with a screened in front porch, it had a bunk bed with full or queen bed on the bottom. There was a mini fridge. No running water but she brought us a gallon of water and a couple cups. There is an outhouse nearby that seemed pretty clean, no smell! She’s working on improving the WiFi signal there. I used my own data. Was able to park right in front of the cabin. Lots of friendly dogs here. Recommend!

The place was great it was just me and my dog. Helga was great. About an hour to Nashville good state parks within 20 mins. It was great home base for checking out the Nashville area and enjoying the great outdoors.
