Little Bone Cave campground is in the mountains of Tennessee with hiking trails and a beautiful view located on 16 acres. This campground adjoins Bone Cave State Natural Area located in Van Buren County. Big Bone Cave is a 400 acre natural area with trails and a cave that contained bones of a giant ground sloth discovered in 1811 and is maintained by Rock Island State Park. The cave is not currently open to the public. Rock Island State Park (swimming, fishing and hiking) is only 6 miles from the campground and Fall Creek Falls State Park (swimming, fishing, hiking and home of the Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival) is a beautiful 25 mile drive through the winding roads and mountains of Van Buren county. A public boat ramp maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is two miles away to access the Caney Fork River. Come enjoy with friends and family. We've stayed here several times, and love it - is a sprawling, ramshackle farm that is a great place to spend the night camping with our trailer with our dogs. There's one or two campsites with electric and water hookups (that you may or may not be able to find) The land is somewhat unimproved with lots of mud and ruts and junk and holes (be careful). There are cars and campers strewn about. The pigs are very friendly 😁 We saw a family of bobcats crossing Eatons Creek road out front. It's SO close to downtown and the development is encroaching closer and closer - we hope it will stay wild and undeveloped forever.

What an amazing campground this is! I chose a primitive tent site A1 and was so glad I did. The tent pad was perfect; mostly level. I was glad for the tiny slope, as it allowed all the rain to flow down from under my ground tarp and 3 season tent. I stayed 100% dry. The outhouses were very clean. And the update B bathhouse was heated and immaculate! I didn’t think I would use it/need it, but a warm shower after the cold rain was a treat. Staff was friendly, responsive, and helpful and informed about nearby trails. This is a place I look forward to returning to!!

Nice campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. Plenty of trees for your hammock. Full hookups were nice. Pretty in the fall. Only drawback was the sites were a little tight and it took a few tries to get in. If you have a long trailer, it might be difficult.

BB is a well ran and organized KOA campground. Very quiet - yet enough amenities for the kids to play without "disturbing" other campers. The grounds keepers are Johnny on the spot with ice, firewood, trash pick up, and any requests. We will be returning next year. Do yourself a favor - bring your own toilet paper, fishing bait / small hooks. Best showers I have used in TN at a campground.

We had a great night in our yurt. It was cold and we forgot our pillows, but we still had fun. All the neighbors were considerate and no wild parties happened that night. We also got dinner at the snack shack and it was delicious. Will definitely again if we go back to the area.

This is one of those places that has that rare combination of easy access, privacy, a stunning view and hookups so you don’t have to boondock. Not only that, you can set up your rig just about anywhere on the site depending on your needs or preferences and the lengths of your hoses and power cable. There are two metal fire rings, with one well suited for cooking if that’s what you’re in to. Around the other fire ring are six, comfortable Adirondack style chairs. Two hammocks were set up nearby. There is an outhouse on the western edge of the site. We didn’t need to use it, but I checked it out and it is clean and well kept. Don’t be afraid to use it if you need to. There’s also a spiral bound notebook and pen so you can enter comments and read what others have said if you want. You can gather firewood on site, but I’d really recommend you bring your own, either locally sourced or kiln dried so invasive pests aren’t inadvertently brought to the site. The water pressure on the site was a bit low, (~ 20psi) so we chose to fill our fresh water tank and use our rig’s pump for better pressure. Melissa is a great host and obviously takes pride in maintaining her site. I’d 100% recommend this little slice of paradise for anyone wanting to escape the crowds, find solitude, enjoy dark skies and the sounds of crickets at night, and all without having to navigate bumpy dirt roads. Oh… one other thing. Bigfoot saw me but nobody believed him.

We recently stayed 4 days at this campsite. The location was peaceful with stunning views of the mountains. The site was very clean and well kept. It also made a great base camp for exploring nearby attractions. It’s just a short drive to Twin Falls and not far from Fall Creek Falls, which were both absolutely amazing and worth the trip. And just a short walk to Bone Cave Trail. The only downside was the overwhelming number of stink bugs around the campsite and even inside, which made relaxing a bit difficult. Overall, the area is beautiful, but be prepared for the bugs. This is probably a seasonal issue and definitely nothing to do with the property at all. But not to worry a ton of them traveled all the way back to Alabama with us just in case we hadn’t had enough there. I would definitely recommend this site for anyone wanting to get away and enjoy nature!

We loved our stay at the primitive camp sites! We had site #4, and it was nicely tucked away while still being very accessible to the porta potties / water. The only bummer we faced was that it said electricity was in easy walking distance and our map showed that it should’ve been near the porta potties, and we were unable to find an outlet (it could’ve been an us problem). We wanted to blowup our air mattress really quickly. We went back to the camp store to ask about it, and they had just told us to use an empty site quickly and head back to our site. This worked out just fine— just a minor inconvenience. Other than that, things were great! The falls were very close and everything went smoothly.
