We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, homesteading eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named for the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located.
I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one.
I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience.

Grant and his wife were wonderful hosts and offer several amenities that my girlfriend and I both said we’ll be back to enjoy someday. The glamp tent setup is truly breathtaking a great in between roughing it and glamorous camping. Grant took the time to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. For people thinking about this trip, I would say be sure to bring some steaks and charcoal to put on the rocket grill! It’s a really cool piece and cooks a steak to perfection. Other than that, flashlights are a plus as it gets dark early in the winter and there isn’t much lighting outside of the tent. Don’t forget to bring something fun to do around the campfire too since there’s a really cool
Rock pit a couple steps outside the tent. S’mores, music, campfire songs, and games. You’ll want to find ways to be outside the tent if you’re like us. Speaking of, there are so many cool things to do outside of the camp! Grant gave us several awesome destinations to visit before we left and we got to each of them! All exceeded our expectations. From food, to sites, to sounds! I’d encourage everyone to explore Tracy city, Monteagle, and even Nashville is only an hour and a half away!

Amazing set-up!! Beautiful location and scenery. I stayed in the glamping tent and it was clean, comfortable, and safe. I went by myself with my dog and she loved having all the space to run around outside the tent. We also hiked down to the waterfall and a little further, and I know there were plenty of other trails nearby too. A perfect getaway! Grant and Becky were super helpful and very sweet! 10/10 recommend booking here.

I loved the stay at the Galmping tent. It was an amazing, large area that was mostly private. Having the provided cooking area was extremely helpful. The views were great I found plenty of trails to wander and follow around. Grant, the host, was very social and thorough in providing information.

A friend and I were looking to take the dogs for a quiet retreat to relax and enjoy nature for a few days. The Glamper was exactly what we were looking for. The falls weren't there when we stayed, but it was still stunningly beautiful and peaceful, overlooking a cliff where the falls normally are. Be sure to check out the fairy village just a short walk away after dark when it lights up. Grant and Becky were amazing hosts and provided us with any assistance we needed.

Weekend Trip to The Falls at Sewanee Creek
My husband and I booked The Glamper for our Honeymoon and it was perfect! We were right next to the waterfall and could see it from the yurt! There is a lot to do in the area. Tons of waterfalls and places to hike! I definitely loved being able to unplug. Take a dip in the waterfalls, go to the nearby bakery and admire The Lords Creation!

We such a wonderful time staying at the Peaceful Hollow Farm glamping tent for a night! The tent was on a level platform and there was even a partitioned area for the potty, covered with a screen. The cookware, double burner, and electricity that were provided were greatly appreciated and the city water was a nice surprise. We made s’mores at the campfire and relaxed on the Adirondack chairs for a while in the evening. The next morning, we did the short hike nearby with our little ones and we had fun searching for, picking, and eating the ripe wild blackberries. We thoroughly enjoyed the farm tour, meeting the cashew goats, llamas, chickens, etc. That was a special treat for the family! Darla and Bon were great and we felt at home. We would definitely come back to do the longer hikes and greet the adorable animals, especially the cashmere goats again 😊

My stay at Darla’s was amazing! The glamping tent was clean and cozy, with everything I needed, and the goats and llamas were adorable. Darla was extremely friendly and helpful in giving me rides up and down the hill, even in the pouring rain! There is a beautiful hiking trail from her property that was the best part of my visit. I would absolutely stay again.

I really enjoyed staying at this campsite. Darla was very attentive, and was available every time I needed a ride down the hill to my car. There’s a great hiking trail that takes you up to the base of a mountain, with a great view. Nighttime vibes were awesome. Definitely recommend.
