On property you can find, corn crib swings, a winding enchanted path to a gazebo perfect for sunsets, a gravity wagon basketball game, a romantic lit pavillion, a balcony overlooking both Iowa and Nebraska, and fields of corn and beans!
Bathrooms can be found centrally on the property, we have 2 womens, 2 mens and one family/ handicap accessible. Now with Shower AND WIFI!

I camped for my Outdoors Unsupervised YouTube channel in a tent with a hotstove in the snow. I enjoyed the serenity of this location. It did have electric to run a light and charge up cameras gear. They do also have more sought after lodgin' but I'd rather camp outside. The bonus was it had a shower house with heated bathroom. Def cheapest and best camp I ever used on HipCamp so far. They also provided a small fridge and a coffee maker with coffee in the shower/bathroom housin' area. Had an amazin' time. I did leave a day early cause 35mph winds was expected at 7AM and in a tent that is def not desirable. Cooked some amazin' meals while there. All videos post on YT Start Feb 9th

The location was right off the highway but once you get to your spot the road noise was very minimal. Host was very accommodating for a very last minute booking (less than 2 hours warning with a 9pm arrival). Host was out of town but very responsive to messages and helped how she could, we are pretty low maintenance though. It was very windy in this area but I think if you only had a tent you could find some way to break the wind easily. There were other guests on the property but no problems arose and everyone kept to themselves. Bathroom/shower access was a huge plus. Also super friendly kitty cats on property. The parking was ample, the fire pit was awesome and this met all of our needs for backpacker car camping 👍🏽

If you’re looking for a nice spot to get some sleep in South East South Dakota, this is it. I was parked behind the barn. Lots of privacy. Also a fair amount of bugs but it was summer and next to a corn field so no surprise. Bring earplugs because the cows on the other side of the field could get noisy. And the occasional train might make its presence known. Again, earplugs took care of everything and I got a great night’s sleep. I’d stay here again. Thanks Kelley!

What a gem! Noreen was incredibly welcoming and upon arrival showed us around the gorgeous property. There was everything from a shower to a pergola to relaxing swings and plenty of peaceful areas with the backdrop of a cornfield privacy ‘hedge’. She offers various accommodations but we never even saw the other guests despite being on the same piece of property. The ranch can also be used as a wedding venue and that must be spectacular as well!

Weekend Trip to The Specialty Crop
The cabin at Specialty Crop is excellent. Clean, air-conditioned, quiet and stocked with water, towels and a coffee maker. Spacious enough for us 3 adults. Thank you Katie and Chris for a comfortable stay, the enjoyable outdoor shower, and good hospitality.

We spent two nights on Katie and Chris’s land and we couldn’t have had a nicer time. Both Katie and Chris welcomed us with firewood and stories about their well loved land. The space was peaceful and the free range chickens entertained us. The facilities were great and the outdoor shower was perfect. Highly recommend a stop at this adorable Hipcamp.

Group trip
This was our second stay at Specialty Crop but this time we carved out two nights to enjoy. The four of us arrived super late our first night and immediately fell into our comfy beds waiting for us. Our 17 and 20 year old girls LOVE sharing the bed in the tiny loft 😉.
Sunday morning we were greeted by the adorable roosters, chickens and kitty cats while we sipped coffee on the front porch. It was a busy day moving our Augie girl into her dorm. We were blessed to have such a comfy place to return to. We enjoyed a lovely campfire and more snuggles from kitty cat, Chai and dog Runa before retiring a bit earlier for another glorious night of sleep.
If I had to tell you what my FAVORITE part about this place was, it would most definately be the outdoor shower. It really is amazing!! Chris, Katie and their children are such amazing hosts and we love staying with them in their little cabin.

Katie and Chris's farm is so beautiful! We loved our stay here. They've really provided a perfect spot, complete with friendly chats, visits from their pets, and a very nice shower. It's so peaceful to sit under the stars next to a campfire. We would definitely come back!

Easily one of our best camping experiences! The little log cabin at Katie & Chris’s place was the perfect home base for our recent family trip to the Sioux River Folk Festival. We were welcomed with warmth and next-level hospitality, even while they were in the midst of tree cleanup after a major storm. The cabin was charming and well-appointed, and the queen bed was super comfortable! Our kids loved having their own space up in the loft and we all decided that we want to build our own outdoor bathhouse at home because the shower was so great! Chris and Katie have poured their hearts into their property and into providing an outstanding experience for guests. There are so many incredible reasons, both big & small, why we loved our stay at the Specialty Crop and we can’t wait to return! Thank you for making us feel like family!
