Lake Wateree, a 13,250-acre lake with unspoiled natural views, was created by the damming of the Wateree River in 1920. It is located about 30 miles northeast of Columbia,
just east of I-77.
The lake is owned and managed by Duke Power and is surrounded by three counties: Fairfield, Kershaw, and Lancaster.
One of South Carolina's oldest man-made lakes, Lake Wateree is known for crappie, bass, catfish, and bream fishing. The 242 miles of shoreline include a bird refuge, the Lake Wateree State Recreation Area and State Park, and Carolina Adventure World for Recreational ATV and dirt bike riding.
All these amenities are only a few miles from this site.
There are many eclectic little towns to visit and shop when you are not spending time swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, paddle boating, fishing,or just sitting around the fire or hanging out on your own private dock and island.

We also have a backyard swimming pool that campers are welcome to use upon request. We are pet friendly and just kindly ask that you give us a heads up before arrival so we can put our own dog away. The campsite was gorgeous and felt very private. The land is beautiful and my hosts were so helpful and gracious. The only piece of information folks might need is that an off-leash dog roamed from a nearby property and sniffed around the campsite on multiple days. Every time I saw the dog in advance, and there were no incidents with my pets as a. I interacted with the dog who was very sweet but I did not feel comfortable introducing my dogs to these dogs just in case. My hosts communicated with me about the issue and did their best to offer solutions. I don't think this would be a showstopper for people without pets at all, and not necessarily even for those with them as long as you are careful.

Loved our stay over the holiday weekend. Nice and quiet area near the state park. The hosts checked in to welcome us and gave us fresh eggs. Chickens, ducks, quail, peacocks and guinea on the property to enjoy and saw deer three times. Nice cove to kayak and paddleboard around the island. Look forward to coming back soon.

The land was absolutely beautiful. The fishing was fantastic. Ann and Jack had tons of wood for a fire everynight. Ann brought us a dozen of fresh eggs from her chickens. It was so peaceful. I highly recommend staying on their property. You will not regret it.

Beautiful property in a rural area with a Dollar General and a gas station just minutes away. The way the property is situated, you wouldn't know that you weren't in the middle of the woods. Easy access for cars and RVs. Choose full shade, full sun, or a mixture of both.
Janie was very accommodating, very sweet! Definitely recommended.
