With the original home built in 1785, Milk Thistle farm is on the historic register and is comprised of the main house and 5 acres of land. It is run as a small non-profit animal sanctuary and is home to rescued chickens, goats, and pigs, as well as two humans and their dog and cat companions. The main property is fenced in and is closed off to visitors. We have two sites; the orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping, as well as a small wooded nook. Both are next to the goat pen. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. Please note we have dogs, including a Livestock Guardian Dog that does bark to alert us of new people and warn off would be predators. Check us out on instagram @milk_thistle_farm

Uncle Jerry's farm is a 5+ acre property with the main house and barn located on the front of the property close to the road with a large flat field area with apple trees, horse chestnuts, and huckleberries to harvest in season. At the back edge of the field the property turns mature white pine and deciduous forest that slopes down to the Moscow Brook. We very warmly welcome any suggestions to improve the stay at this beautiful property we are just getting going and many improvements are planned in the very near future as well.

Mushroom hunting among glacier rocks, and monstrous ferns. It's a getaway that's close to everything!

We are a bit of a holdover-and we take our stewardship role of this farming legacy quite seriously. Despite our glorious natural setting, we are actually very close to all the places people want to visit in RI-including Providence (15 minutes), Newport (30 minutes) beaches (15-40 depending on which one you chose) and a bunch of parks and hiking areas (15-45 minutes max). We are also near Ct and Mass-so a good home base for all kinds of exploring! Stays are limited to three nights.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay! The site was very spacious and clean. The host sent a video and directions on how to get to the site, which I really appreciated. Our favorite was definitely the trails. They were all well maintained and I honestly wish we had more time to enjoy everything. Definitely coming back for a longer stay!

Absolutely magical. The Yurt site at Getaway Ranch is one of those rare, special places that can heal your weary soul. The perfect balance of wilderness immersion and convenience. Will you hear some faint sounds of civilization in the distance? Yes. But, that's a fair trade-off for a FWD accessible site where you will fall asleep to the sound of barred owls and coyotes, then wake up to the beauty of the fog rolling off the river. Lot's of cool amenities. We definitely want to try our the Yurt site's cast iron smoker next year! Thank you, Karyssa!

We had a nice stay at the Getaway Ranch. It felt private and secluded but was still fairly close to the beach and other amenities. Shower was clean and hot. They were quick to take care of us if we needed anything. We were serenaded by crickets and barred owls each night.

We had a great camping time with my friends at main campsite. The view is beautiful and private campsite. The host prepared almost everything we needed for camping, such as firewood, trash bags, and tents, even though we brought our own stuffs. The next day when we woke up, it started heavy raining, but we were still very good, and felt comfortable to take a shower after that. Thank you for the great campsite.

I love the spot. Big property with this campsite secluded in the back. Took a wheel barrel of things down to the campsite by the brook. The final stretch of trail is somewhat steep if you’re carrying a full load of things like I was. It was nice swimming in the brook. Peaceful and would recommend.
