In 1990, Scott and Sue Miller purchased a 16-acre farm in Elizabethtown, Pa with the intentions of starting a select cut Christmas tree farm. 15,000 trees were purchased and planted on the farm. Six years later, the first tree was sold and since then, the farm has expanded its operations to Bernville, Pa. Camp on our 16 acre Christmas tree farm in an Amish neighbors with horses. Within 30 minute drive to Hershey park, Mt Gretna , Lebanon, Lancaster, Harrisburg, York. Enjoy hiking and biking trails nearby and the many attractions. We have excellent cell reception on our farm. Great view for star gazing and sunsets. Firewood available for purchase. We have a stone parking lot for RV campers. Two sites can also accommodate RV’s. We will reserve these sites. Tent campers can set up in the trees and lanes. An outdoor portable toilet is available and water is available at an outside spigot. We are open April through October. We have 6 sites available with fire pits. You are able to drive and park next to the site. Sites are available first come first served. Four persons per site additional $5 per night fee for extra guests. We sell Miller’s Christmas tree farms stickers. Our sites have excellent cell coverage. In the event we are not home when you arrive, there is a site map on the light pole near the porta pot. We will try to notify you in advance if any sites are taken.

Elmlock was named by MJ's Grandfather for the majestic Elm trees that once graced the property and banks of the Tulpehocken Stream passing through the Union Canal lock. These beautiful trees were devastated by the Dutch Elm Disease in the early 20th century. Elmlock and the surrounding area was surveyed by non other than George Washington as plans were formulating to build a canal system to join the Schuylkill and Susquehanna Rivers. The General stayed with his friend Captain Michael Lei on the adjacent farm, once known as the Tulpehocken Manor when visiting the area. The ruins of one of the canal locks remains on the Elmlock property adjacent to the camping area. The 1838 stone farmhouse was built by the Spengler family and acquired by MJ's Grandfather in 1913. MJ's pottery studio is a local "Town Barn" that was relocated piece by piece to Elmlock by MJ"s brother, a Historic Restoration Specialist, in 1974. He also restored the Bake Oven on the property's Summer Kitchen. Our property features an historic canal lock from 1828 Union Canal and a stream that runs through it. There is a RR track that runs just south of our camp about 10acres away For campers who love to watch or hear trains you'll have plenty of opportunity to do so! You can enjoy fishing and playing in the water, which is fresh, clean limestone water from a nearby quarry. We also have two small goats on the property. Farm land surrounds the property, wooded area and cattle nearby. This is a secluded property but less than a mile from Rt 422. You can bike along the many back roads nearby! We also offer pottery classes, drawing classes, painting classes, and also Medicinal wild plants walk etc. for an additional fee. See our extras below if you are interested! 3 nights at FernRock Retreat

Lovely place for a peaceful retreat for a chilly November weekend, even with a 5 year old. Sandy and John were such kind and welcoming hosts. The red cabin is an updated church camp cabin, with electric radiators and a modern wood stove for heat, a pretty cool composting toilet (indoor), sink+shower, simple kitchen with induction stove, and 2 bedrooms with linens and towels. Our 5-year old loved the tree house, fairy house, labyrinth, meditation stations, boat and Pooh's house and library. And we got really good at shuffleboard! Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Weekend Trip to Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Our girls camping trip to Camp Dietrich this weekend was amazing. Scott met us upon arrival and gave us a full rundown of the campground! The checkpoint shed had everything we needed, wood was ready to buy, and the Coleman stove made cooking every meal so easy. The creek beside our campsite was absolutely magical, and yes, I even took a cold plunge. The tent was super spacious, comfy bunk beds, and the heater kept us warm all night. We hiked to the waterfalls on-site, which were unreal. Already counting down to bringing the kids this summer. Highly recommend, 10/10.

My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed for two nights at “a creek runs through it” and had a wonderful time. Scott was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you forgot to pack something, there’s a good chance you can borrow it from the check point shed. The site itself was gorgeous and very private. You really can “be one with nature” here. I look forward to visiting again once it warms up, to fully take advantage of the creek and some swimming. Highly recommend this place. Thank you to the Dietrich’s for a wonderful experience!

This place is awesome. Sites are far enough apart to feel private, but you can walk back to the portapot if needed. Scott was super nice and helpful. Land is beautiful- the views are great, and it’s cool to set up camp among the growing Christmas trees. We’ll definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Conowingo Creek Campsite

We had a lovely fall weekend glamping on Gini’s land. The site is beautiful and well maintained and the tent is very comfortable and filled with everything you could want even for cold weather camping. Gini’s hospitality was also exceptional (going out of their way to provide extra blankets and hot water bottles to one of our party who camped in a tent), and the land is perfect to walk through. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom safely. Will definitely be back!

This was our second time at the Christmas tree farm and we had even more fun than our last stay. Scott is amazing host, very accommodating and gracious. 3 nights at Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Amazing hosts and location. The campsite was clean and ready for us when we arrived, the place is very well maintained. The tent was dry and held heat well- although there's a propane heater, we didn't need it despite the temps being in the 40s at night. It rained a lot the first night but the tent remained dry thanks to the additional covering over the tent area. The foam mattresses were extremely comfortable. I live with chronic back pain and slept very well. The bedding was clean and plenty warm enough (sheets, comforter, extra large fleece blanket). There is a camping lamp provided for the tent, covered area, and bathroom. There are 4 camping chairs beneath each bed in the tent and some extra in the supply shed. I read reviews that said you really only need to bring your clothes and food...that's pretty much right. The supply shed has just about everything else you need. The place was so serene, we didn't see or hear anyone else, only the sound of the moving water. The hosts were amazing and even provided us with additional items we forgot and pumped my flat tire when we were ready to leave. I've already booked it again for next year!
