There are 3 campsites and one cabin located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.

Great stay! The cabin was exactly as described and offered the perfect escape from the crowds. The interior was cozy with everything you needed for a stay regardless of timeframe; Theresa was incredibly communicative and welcoming. I especially enjoyed the secluded atmosphere of the cabin and variety of unique animals on property. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for serenity and a unique experience. I can't wait to visit again!

The small cabin I stayed at was very nice and simple. I loved bird song in the mornings and transparent side of the roof. The site is secluded and easy to find at the same time. There was a plenty of fire wood outside and blankets inside so nights in thirties were quite manageable and even enjoyable. And don’t miss the opportunity to get breakfast if it gets offered to you, it was outstanding experience for small additional fee.

My husband and I always do rustic tent camping, but I’m 22 weeks pregnant so was looking for something in between. I felt like this place was what we were looking for! PROS: Private site, weather proof cabin, bed, firewood comes with the site, and the $10 breakfast that is available is AMAZING. CONS: Can slightly hear noise from the highway/road (some moments louder than others.) We are use to being deep in the woods when camping, so I think that’s why it was a con for us.

This was a beautiful weekend time away from the day to day. The cabins are set in rolling fields of farmland. Secluded from the normal traffic, this was a great and comfortable place to read my bible, sit by the fire, and cook some new recipes. Planning on going back again sometime soon. Was a seamless and enjoyable weekend I didn't want to end!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Paix Cabinette with Host Karen. I visited with my daughter, and from the start, Karen was incredibly communicative. She responded quickly to all my questions and was very accommodating when I needed to adjust our dates, which I really appreciated. The site itself was peaceful and well laid out. Even in early spring, before everything had fully grown in, we still felt a great sense of privacy. The cabin was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. There was plenty of firewood provided. Also, there was a picnic table and chairs for around the fire. Every night we could hear owls nearby, which was such a cool experience and made the stay feel even more connected to nature. Access to the cabin and the bathroom in the main house was convenient, just a short walk away, and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. It made the experience comfortable while still feeling like a true getaway. My daughter absolutely loved the trip and has already been asking when we can come back, which says everything. The space felt very safe and family-friendly, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling with small children. I also appreciated that the cabin locks. It added a nice sense of security. I had seen some comments about the bed being short, but at 5'6", I had no issues at all. Overall, this was a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend!

Super cozy, relaxing, and beautiful surroundings with a kind & responsive host. The bed and the sofa are extremely comfortable, and the in-cabin stove and solar-powered mini fridge are very convenient. The heater keeps the cabin nice and warm on colder nights, too. My husband and I loved having our "mini moon" here, building a campfire, lounging on the porch, walking the trails, and greeting the animals! Would love to come back in the summer.

Nice little cabin that made camping in January comfortable with heating. Offered basic necessities for cooking. No running water but there was a new edition built on for a bathroom instead of going outside to hike up a hill to a bathroom. There’s rain collection for flushing the toilet and there’s well water to grab drinkable water from anytime. The host was nice enough to fill both water jugs before we arrived. Very friendly people, I can tell they love their animals. The farm includes, but not limited to; 2 emus, 2 dogs, some cows, bunch of pigs, a goat, and a retired mustang horse named Charles. Definitely recommend doing a tour of the farm as you can be as interactive as you want with the animals. Do bring tall boots or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy if it’s rained recently or if you’ve never been on a farm. It is a farm after all, get used to the chance of getting messy if you love animals. We had a great time exploring the trails they had to offer even while it was raining. I will say some of the trails are very steep on a hill so be cautious while exploring. This time of year is maple tapping which I would of loved to do, but circumstances didn’t allow it and that’s okay, maybe next time! Overall, a really enjoyable time here and we are planning on coming back in the spring/summer to possibly kayak and pick wild berries on the trails. Can’t wait to come back, thank you for hosting us.

This is my first cabin camping in a long time and this place is really nice. The cabin is cozy and offers electricity. We are used to bringing our own supplies for camping and we were relieved to see most essentials were supplied. The hot plate and folding table were great for making meals, along with the fire pit. I really enjoyed the privacy and and hospitality of the host, who gave us the most delicious potatoes and onion from their garden. There is a train that comes by, but I'm telling you it is nothing that disturbed our stay. Thank you.

This was a most wonderful experience on a lovely property hosted by such a kind family. We very much enjoyed our two nights there (even in the cold). The cabin is quaint and had all we needed off the grid to really feel disconnected. I rented the tiny cabin for 2 nights, and while it’s a lovely off-grid setup exactly as described, the temperatures dropped extremely low during my stay. Because the cabin has no heat, electricity, or running water, it wasn’t feasible to stay there in that kind of cold. The host was gracious and immediately helped us pivot to a room at her bed-and-breakfast on the same property so we could remain safe and comfortable. Although we didn’t get to stay in the cabin itself, the property is stunning — wide open views, peaceful surroundings, and a true escape from the city. I’m very grateful for the host’s quick help and hospitality. I’d absolutely return in better weather to enjoy the cabin properly.

Everything was awesome. The little cabin stayed so warm and was the perfect size for our family of three plus our doggo! The land was beautiful. Theresa and her husband were both so kind. We loved meeting their farm of animals. And she was easy to get a hold of and easy to chat with. We will definitely be going back. The porta potty is a short walk and they are working on a bunch of upgrades in the cabin too. The emus are wonderful and sweet, we visited them multiple times a day. I could go on and on. 100% recommended for an upgraded camping experience. Look forward to trying them out in warmer weather too!
