Camp is on 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek on the western border and back up through a hemlock forest along south border. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. All camp sites are on the eastern border and close to the main road to access property. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest, watch nature's critters, read or just relax in a hammock. No hunting on property but fishing permitted along "river" aka Red Bank Creek. Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low. We loved our stay at this farm . Kevin was an amazing host and you can see that as soon as you pull up on thr cabin as it was supper clean and he had everything you could need . I definitely recommend the honey bee experience what an amazing experience we will never forget ! Kevin was so informative, and now we have a new, profound respect and knowledge for bees 🐝 we will definitely book in the future.

We loved staying at the Star Lee Farm. The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and I. There was enough firewood for us to have a fire all day the one day and a few shorter ones as we needed other days. The walk to the outhouse was short and the views for that area to the surrounding mountains and trees was beautiful. The cabin was remote, we could see the other one through the trees if we tried but no one was staying there. They checked in via message a few times to make sure we didn’t need anything and restocked the bathhouse halfway through our stay. We were just a short drive from hiking at a state park which was great.

Richard is the best, most accommodating, communicative host. He went out of his way to get me what I needed. The site is as advertised, bring a good sleeping pad. I would go back in a heartbeat. He also has an RV if you need a mattress and on demand hot water. Definitely give Richard's site a stay!

Weekend Trip to Neal Homestead Camp Sites

This was the perfect little space to get away from life in the winter. The little propane heater was enough to warm up the space in the middle of the night and early morning. I didn't have the right gear to hike in the snow but I will be back to try out the trails in the spring! There was plenty of fire wood and a solo stove which we didn't really use but I appreciate that it was available. Also the hosts were very friendly and offered extra lights and things to make my stay more cozy. I will most definitely be back with better gear ❤️ Thank you again for making this quiet space available for people to get away from the busy world!

Kevin was super accommodating and the cabin was very clean and cozy with lots of little extras. The outside of the cabin had a picnic table and fire pit and was private. Cell service was good enough to stream a movie on netflix on our laptop too. We will definitely stay here on the property again.

Star Lee is a wonderful setting for a bucolic visit to Central PA. Close to Raystown Lake and other state lands it offers a nice stay for anyone to hike, bike, hunt, or fish in the area. Stargazing and daydreaming also included. As a working bee and hay farm, Star Lee offers the opportunity to settle in, relax and enjoy. It is clean, comfortable, and obviously well cared for. I highly recommend Star Lee and am still enjoying their honey. We’ll be back.

Weekend Trip to Star Lee Farm

We have stayed in a lot of hip camps, but this by far is one of the very best that we’ve stayed in. Some of the highlights: cozy cabin nicely decorated. No heat or electricity, but he had lanterns for us, but we brought our own. Nice outdoor area with a picnic table and a fire pit that was perfect. Also a gas grill for us to cook on. He is two other cabin places, but they are so far apart that you can’t really hear or see anyone else. The property is huge and it is a working bee farm and it was very cool. These are located nowhere near the cabin, so you never have to worry about the bees being near your cabin. Highly suggest you learn about raising bees from our host! He has delicious honey for sale and an awesome piece of property with lots of different birds and deer. we walked around his property the first day and went 1.7 miles so it is very large. Also, very nice that it is a close walk to the flushable toilets and hot water showers. This was also a huge plus for us in October. Kevin is very responsive. He is also retired military and very compassionate and energetic about his farm. We came up for the end of the road half marathon/4miler, but in addition to that there is much more in this area if you like the outdoors. We did not go to Raytown Lake / Alpaca farm which we will visit next time. We love to hike and within 15 minutes is beautiful hikes with awesome views in including the thousand steps and the standing stone trail. We highly recommend!!!

We loved our stay at Star Lee. The cabins are perfect getaway from the daily grind. Clean and comfortable. If you’re looking for wide open sky and some peace and quiet, look no further and head to Star Lee. Kevin is a gracious and accommodating host! He even checked in to ensure we returned home safe and sound. Simply can’t be beat and we’re very fortunate to have our first Hipcamp stay at Star Lee and looking forward to return. Who ever Mimi is, she’s got a nice shed! It is exactly what you would expect a shed in the woods to be. It is unfinished in the inside but comes with basic camping goods like stoves, some pans, fire pit, and some water. We luckily did bring our own lantern since the indoor lighting is not super bright. Nothing fancy, but a step up from a tent for sure! We arrived late at night which made finding the shed a little more difficult. I think a few little outdoor lights could help quite a bit! By the way, if you hear screaming through the woods close by, it’s just the goats.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Kevin's Honey Bee Cabin! The cabin was super cozy and clean. He even had us all set up with little extra stuff like a box of fire starters, a roll of paper towels, bottled water, and a free sample of honey from his farm! The firepit and picnic table were well taken care of and the grill looked brand new. The shower house was a short walk from the cabin was also clean and had hot water. He was very good at checking in with us over message and occasionally in person to see if we needed anything. We went for our 8 year anniversary and to see the lunar eclipse. It was convenient since there was a nice open field for stargazing so we had a perfect view of the eclipse! Overall a great stay, thanks Kevin for a great weekend!
