Hey there! I'm a single dad with 2 teen-kids, medical professional, who enjoys country living and sharing it with others. I've lived in far-Northern CA and Southern Oregon my whole life, except for school/training, so State of Jefferson is my home. We bought this land in 2017, when it was just brush, poison oak, and a rotten bridge. Learn more about this land:Campsite on 72 acres along beautiful Jumpoff Joe Creek. Shaded, adjacent to romantically lighted timber-frame private covered bridge (no traffic). Very secluded, but only 1/2 mile from I-5 (no freeway noise, though). Private "beach" area and kid-friendly water play area with wild creatures (turkey, deer, fish, crayfish, water striders, turtles, frogs, etc.). Picnic table, tent spots, and fresh water spigot. Short hiking trails (watch out for poison oak!). Best for tenting, smaller RV's, tree tents, or rooftop tents. >100 yards from nearest structure. 3 nights max except by private arrangement. NO smoking/vaping/marijuana. NO wood fires, but propane fire-ring is available -- bring your own propane tank or pay $5 extra to use my propane tank if available. Good cell service from Google Fi/USCellular. WiFi available on porch of owner's house by request.

Cow Creek Camp

This is a remote property that has lots of "nature stuff" including the presence of poison oak and ticks. The immediate area of the campsites is treated for poison oak, but there is a lot of it on the property once you are away from the river's edge. Pets are likely to encounter it. The ticks tend to have a couple seasons when they are more plentiful, typically the Spring and early Fall. Although we didn't see any in August and early September, they could be present any time.Currently no access for larger RVs. Truck campers and camper vans can be accommodated. If you have any kind of RV, check with us before booking.Cow Creek is a class 1 stream and a tributary to the South Umpqua River. There is a dam at the headwaters of Cow creek which assures a consistent year-round flow of clean fresh water. Steelhead and wild salmon runs have increased dramatically since the dam was built in about 1992. The swimming is excellent, as the topography and lay of the land create a perfect private swimming hole. The property encompasses both sides of the river for 3/4 of a mile. Some of the land is steep and heavily forested. There are a number of flatter meadows on benches as the property comprises a portion of the northern slope of Iron Mountain.Learn more about this land:Creekside camping beside the looong swimming hole on our 140 acre forest land. Located 11 miles from the Riddle Oregon exit on I-5, the Swimming, fishing, bird watching, hiking and stargazing are all fantastic. There is no electric power at all on the property. No cell service. THE TRAIN: You are almost certain to be woken in the wee hours of the morning during the work week of Monday thru Friday (approx. 5:00 a.m.) by the VERY LOUD and SCREECHING train on the other side of the creek. If you'll be okay with that, riverside paradise awaits! The best thing to do is look over our website. This is more of a homestead than a typical farm. We have 131 acres of mixed pasture and old forest. We have sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and one nasty alpaca. We sell sausage and bigger cuts of meat at the farmers market and supplement our animals with produce from the garden. Tucked away in this quiet little valley, we practice regenerative farming using organic and biodynamic practices. The house is powered with solar and everything except plastic is composted. Nights are quiet aside from wild fox cries and the occasional bleat of the sheep. The stars come out because we don't have light pollution. The creek babbles on.....and so do I. If you are looking to just relax, maybe have a great conversation, or hang with some animals......this might be a perfect match. Right now we have a hundred plus sheep, Icelandic's, roaming around, and thirty or so piglets who are growing fast. We have hiking but prepare for poison oak. The space...
This space has a private, cozy feel to it. The tent consists of a queen-sized bed, memory foam mattress with luxury hotel quality linens, wood burning stove, folding table and chairs, Yeti cooler stocked with ice, and outdoor lounge seating.
The tent also comes equipped with the essentials such as, wool blankets, plush towels, LED lanterns, board games, his and her robes, folding tables and chairs, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and firewood.
The composting restroom has a toilet and motion sensor lighting. On the outside of the restroom is the sink with hot and cold running water. As you continue along the stone path to the outdoor shower, you'll find a rainfall shower head as well as all the products you need, not to mention the most incredible views of the river!!
Our recently added outdoor cookshack comes with a grill, large cooler for refrigerated items, bar sink, trash, and basic cooking and eating utensils. This space also has views of the river and large FarmStyle table and chairs for dining.
The site is equipped with motion sensor outdoor path lighting around the tent and also the along the path leading from the parking area to the tent.
The air is fresh, the space is brand new, and everything is crafted for relaxation and quality time with your friends or loved one. Take a nap in a hammock, play Jenga on the deck, read a book, or take a hike. There is something here for everyone, any time of year.
Guest access
The entire property (10 acers) is for your use. The driveway is gated with use of a keypad for entry.
Other things to note...
Wildlife will often cross the property, mainly deer, turkey, and some elk.
There is over 100 acres of BLM land adjoining our property on two sides with miles of trails to explore. Breathtaking river views abound.
The tent faces west, making for a nightly sunset show from the tent and deck.
The woodstove may look small, but it is not a toy. With a solid fire it will produce 5k btu of heat, more than enough to keep the tent warm on snowy winter days.

Situated next to our home on a 55 acre farm, our yurt provides a peaceful, relaxing space for up to 5 people.
THE SPACE The 20' Pheasant Creek Yurt is completely yours during your stay. Bathroom area in the main house may be shared.
For the yurt, there is a queen futon for sitting or sleeping, a double futon bunk/couch with a twin above, dining table with chairs, sink and counter space with toaster/convection oven, mini-fridge, dishes and cutlery, coffee pot, rocking chair, wood stove, and other amenities.
Your stay will also include space for 2 cars, access to the charcoal grill, deck seating, and access to pasture, creek, and forest to wander.
We are located 15 miles from King Estate and other local wineries, 15 miles from the Covered Bridge Scenic Bikeway, 45 miles from Eugene, and 2 hours from the coast, the mountains, and Portland. While the location is quiet and secluded, we are still an easy 5 minutes to I-5.
Yurt door is usually left unlocked, and we have not had any security issues. Upon request, we can provide guests with a key during their stay.
Unfortunately these accommodations are not ADA-accessible at this time.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE People from all backgrounds are welcome, but hate has no home here. Please respect our neighbors - we tend to wave to each other while in the neighborhood.
Other residents at this property include: 4 dogs (Frannie, Zooey, Leia and Suleyman), a flock of Romney sheep, 9 hens, 1 donkey (Gracie), 2 potbelly pigs (Hamlet and Pig), 3 cats (Jackie, Zelda, and Opal), and multiple geese. Farm access is available upon instruction (proper gate security is a must!)
Unfortunately pets are not allowed at this time because of the animals.
