Outdoor stays for every style

Find your new favorite spot.

Winding through the forests southeast of Eugene, Fall Creek is a beloved Oregon gem. Here, trout swim through the shallows, and anglers cast in the morning mist. From the peaceful picnic areas at Elijah Bristow State Park to the buzzing Fall Creek Lake, this region has adventures to spare. Fall Creek State Recreation Area makes an ideal home base. Here, a large reservoir offers fishing, boating, and swimming from April through September. Explore the shore from five day-use areas around the lake. If you’re bringing a boat, head to the boat ramp at the North Shore Park. Inside the park, Cascara Campground offers 39 primitive sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. They’re all first-come, first-served, so plan to arrive early on summer weekends. Hoping for a quiet getaway? Visit during the week to enjoy the water without the crowds. Away from the reservoir, you’ll find plenty of camping options. Jump in a rock-ringed swimming hole at Broken Bowl Campground. At Bedrock Campground, you’ll find picnic areas and views of the creek. To get off grid year-round, hop on the Fall Creek National Recreation Trail. Planning to visit in the cooler months? Stay warm at a local RV park. You can also rent rustic cabins or yurts. Bring warm, waterproof layers, and you can hike and fish in comfort.
