Sitting in the middle of an 850 acre nature preserve, you will have plenty of privacy to enjoy a getaway in the woods without being disturbed by other campers. This site is relatively flat and easy to access on the edge of a field along the tree line of the forest. You may notice old stone chimneys standing throughout the woods where cabins once stood, back when Lake Frances was a resort area in the 1920s. On this camp site, we have a Micro Cabin that is wired for a generator (not provided) that sleeps 2, or bring your own tent and enjoy the view of the stars. We have several private campsites sprinkled throughout the forest reserve for you to stay at as you enjoy the Illinois River, hike, or bike the trails. The mountain bike trails run very close to this site and the White Water Park is about 2 miles down the gravel road. The trailhead for the paved bike trail is around the corner from this campsite and goes all the way down to WOKA. There is an off road bike trail located right next to the field by this campsite along with several other trails. There are many more miles of additional mountain bike trails in town and on the north side of Siloam.
WOKA has 8 low-hazard whitewater features, seasonal rentals of kayaks, rafts, paddle boards and actual surf boards, and concessions, with shaded viewing. Changing facilities and restrooms are on-site at WOKA.
The Siloam Springs Kayak Park is located up river on Fisher Ford Rd, and has access for swimming and tubing. If you enjoy riding dirt bikes or quads, there is the family friendly Off-road race track, Gas MX, directly across the highway from Woka. We also have dirt track racing at Arrowhead Speedway nearby in West Siloam Springs, West of the Casino.

This land has been handed down for generations and has stayed in the family beginning on my mother’s side of the family, Mary Ann Groundhog, the fourth generation great granddaughter of Sequoyah on the “Dick” side of my family tree. My mother was heavily involved with AIM (American Indian movement).
My dad was the last monolingual Cherokee. His name was Mack Vann, he was a man who loved culture and sharing it with visitors and handed down that passion to me. My hip camper site is named after my daddy, I am still a daddy‘s girl. The land originated before Sequoyah. who created the Cherokee syllabary. Found some trees perfect for a hammock, hiked down the rock trail, made a campfire cake, had camp coffee and enjoyed the scenery. It was my kind of party. Camper was in good shape, smelled and looked clean. Having a flushable toilet, a queen size bed to sleep in, and the option to use the stove were all very convenient (especially with a 4 year old). Great place for the price, I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was peaceful and fun. Host was responsive.

A perfect weekend. Beautiful nature setting every direction you look. Nicely maintained and clean. Quiet and private. Host made sure we got settled in and pointed out a hidden entrance to an amazing nature trail the we hiked, then biked the next day. Clean bathroom. Micro cabin was perfect for friends to join us. We plan to return and make this a regular destination. We are leaving rested, relaxed, and happy!

It’s truly a hideaway! From the moment we checked in with the host on Friday, we didn’t see another soul all weekend — and that’s exactly what made it perfect. The peace and quiet here are unmatched. The forest around camp was alive with sounds of nature, and we even had a family of raccoons wander by one evening (so definitely keep your food locked up!).
The views are absolutely breathtaking — sunrise from this site is something you’ll never forget. I captured a few photos from sunrise and even some night shots, and they turned out incredible. This place would be magical in the fall when the colors start to change.
Just like other reviewers mentioned, having a 4x4 or AWD is smart. Our Crosstrek handled it easily, but if it rains, things could get interesting.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, secluded getaway surrounded by nature, Hickman Hideaway is exactly that. We left feeling recharged and can’t wait to come back! 🌲✨

We loved tent camping at The wild Goose. We were able to find it very easily and having electricity at the site was such a blessing. The view of the river was amazing and my kids spent a lot of time on the rock wall right along the river. It was quiet and we had all the privacy we were looking for. Do yourself a favor and bring a pair of binoculars because the natural wildlife was beautiful to look at and we found out how the site got its name from the geese that wandered across the way from us. We would definitely stay at this property again!

It's a very isolated and comfy camp site. We loved our stay. Only word of warning is make sure you have 4 wheel drive or at least are comfortable with a hike to the site. The owner was fantastic and we are very likely to return.

I had a great time! It's a great spot for car camping. There were lots of trees and birds, and the camper was really convenient. It had a toilet, shower, and sink that were welcome conveniences for the three night stay in my tent.
The views were beautiful. I'm definitely coming back.

I camped for a week at the river site and it was a fantastic time. It is 100% private except for the occasional barge. The site backs up to forest which feels 20 degrees cooler so it'd be great during summer. The shade is plentiful! I will be back for sure. The path down to the site can be a little iffy so I'd recommend 4x4 if there has been recent heavy rainfall.
The hosts are some of the kindest people I have met. They are warm and genuinely care about your experience.

I loved this camping spot. Best spot I've ever camped hands down. The privacy and quiet is unmatched, but if you need anything the host David is a text away. You'll lose signal a few miles from the spot but at the camp sight there is the perfect amount of signal for keeping up with the weather or an emergency. Great fishing, plenty of firewood and tinder to scavenge. Beautiful views, very low light pollution at night. If you don't have a 4x4 you should pack a hand cart to help get your gear to the camp site. Bugs are a problem in any site as primitive as this, but I didn't get a single tick or bug bite. I treated all my gear, clothes, tents, chairs, even my dogs with permethrin (you can find it at Walmart or on Amazon), and I also paired that with picaridian spray on any exposed skin. Thank you David! for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We enjoyed every moment at Hickmans Hideaway.

Had an amazing time!!! Perfect for a weekend away from home. This spot is large enough for the whole family or a romantic getaway. Highly recommended. Also the fire pit is a little bit off into the woods and it made for a beautifully relaxing time and there is a porta potty on sight so no need to go in the woods! If you are needing a camping spot this is it!!!
