2 nights at Heritage Lake Farm

This was my first time using the Hipcamp app. We enjoyed two quiet and peaceful nights! Serene and beautiful. All of the directions were spot on! I really appreciated it as it was only my second time camping with the Class C RV. We will definitely go back!

Weekend Trip to Bass and Buck Tent Adventures

Beautiful area and so many neat features and things to do! Our site ( cozy creek) definitely felt secluded and private but easily accessible from the parking area. Our host was very welcoming and helpful and I wish we would have been able to stay longer and explore.

4 nights at Towpath Trail Peace Park

I appreciated Joe’s friendliness! It was nice to have a porter potty to use the restroom and a solar powered place to charge cellphones. I like the accessibility to the trail and Joe’s knowledge of the native Americans.

Weekend Trip to Bass and Buck Tent Adventures

This was the 4th trip that my family has taken to Bass and Buck, but the first time at this site. I came with 2 young kids and lots of gear, and it was very convenient having the site so close to parking/ the bathroom. We still felt tucked away and like we had our own private space, so it was a great mix of convenience and adventure. The kids loved hiking in the creek! Another great trip 😊

Very easy and convenient. The sites are very easy to find and access. Directions were clear and the hosts were great at communication. Would definitely stay again if in the area!

3 nights at Earth Song Farm

Our family had a fantastic experience! Steve was a super helpful and kind host. The kid's loved the chickens everywhere and the kid train! We were the only family staying there, so the kids pretty much just ran wild for 3 days and loved every minute of it. Steve is passionate about communal living and child learning through free play! If you are a family wanting to enjoy time together with freedom to play, get messy, and explore, this is the place! We hope to be back soon!

1 night at Sweet Hill

Jason’s land was the perfect place for an overnight pit stop on our roadtrip. It’s a great location and the pond is beautiful. We appreciated the flexible check-in for a late arrival. Highly recommend!

4 nights at Hidden Lakes Family Campground

We loved this campground and it was perfect for us! Hidden gem!! This is campground is not for the faint at heart! A true nature/wildlife and fisherman’s delight for camping to get away from the noise, hustle,bustle technology. Strict rules protects this well maintained and quiet area (read the rules) The small red firelights at night makes it for a true camping experience to appreciate the noises that nature holds. Bring a flashlight there are no bright electrical bright lights anywhere expect the front entrance. The dark sky star gazing tops off this experience by allowing to get up and close with nature. We were able to relax and decompress. Spacious spaces gives privacy from the neighbors. There is tent and group camping so those spaces are closer together. Few sites have sewer. Rest have Water and electricity. (did not take photos of the group sites, just where I was at.) there are options for pull through and it is spacious enough for big rigs and mega rigs. Friendly service from the hosts/owners. It was one of my favorite places to have been. They did have activity planned for the kids. Comfy from being away from Home with amenities to make it a great stay. They have three ponds for fishing and swimming. Close to attractions and 5 lighthouses within an hr and major shopping areas. We loved this country campground and would camp there again !

We enjoyed camping here. It is a beautiful property and the hosts were very friendly and super responsive. It was just as described. It is right next to the street, so there is some traffic noise but it didn’t bother us. We will come back if we’re in the area again.

Weekend Trip to Sawdust FarmCamp

Another great getaway at Adrienne and Morgan's tent. We brought our Mr. Heater in for the cold nights ...it was nice to sleep again on such a comfy foam mattress, with enough blankets to keep us both warm after shutting off the heater for the rest of the night. Just like last time, we found the area incredibly peaceful, aside from the occasional plane overhead and what sounds like farming equipment in the distance. We could hear the creek/small stream in the ravine more this month than we did in early April last year; it's very soothing. You don't hear or see any person while at the tent, even when people are staying at the cabin. The site feels secluded. The hosts were very responsive and made sure our stay was a comfortable one and that we had everything we needed. The composting toilet is super convenient; note that there is no outdoor shower yet. Be sure to message the hosts for updates on that. The one load of firewood included was enough for our two night stay as there's plenty of sticks and twigs around to use along with it. More than enough drinking water is provided. Cell service is really good, so no worries getting connected when you need to. This trip was during Memorial weekend and temperatures were fairly comfortable during the day with very few bugs. Pretty much all we saw and heard were birds. Enjoy the barred owls going back and forth at night and early in the morning. It's about a 15-minute trip if you need to leave the site to grab food, ice, etc.

2 nights at Heritage Lake Farm

Phenomenal!! This was our first trip with our new class B camper van and 3 dogs - host was very responsive and the property is amazing. Would not just recommend but plan on staying again as this is only 45 minutes from home. Thanks Michael!!

Weekend Trip to Hidden Lakes Family Campground

We went for my son’s birthday weekend. The campground was clean, bathrooms were very clean. Friendly staff on site. Our wood got wet due to rain & they allowed us to exchange it for dry wood which was very accommodating.

Nice level gravel parking lot next to a pond for catch and release fishing and close enough to the gas station for a quick trip for those forgotten items but far enough away to be secluded.

This was a great place to spend a couple of nights! It’s close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and close to a ton of places to eat! It also has a small fishing pond, but in keeping with my horrible track record as a fisherman, I did not catch anything! I would definitely recommend this little RV spot to anyone!

1 night at Towpath Trail Peace Park

Joe is very friendly host. Great local historian. The property sits close to a road and a railroad but neither bothered me. I see why he offers free ear plugs for light sleepers. His location in relation to the trail can’t be beat.

Jason’s spot was a wonderful stay! We stayed one night passing through and it was easy to find. It was a quiet, peaceful spot, but still close to town for things we needed to grab the next morning!

Awesome spot right off the tow path. Wish I could have stayed to enjoy it but after several delays I ended up getting there after dark and had to leave asap the next morning. Being 105 miles by bike from my start was a big plus for me. Next time I pass through I'll hang around haha.

Nice property, right off of the towpath. I did an overnighter on my bike, this place was perfect for that. It's a short ride into town for restaurants. Also Joe was super nice, very knowledgeable about history of the local area and his property specifically.

Excellent location and beautiful property for boondocking. Close to Cuyahogo National Park, Canton, Akron and all the quaint townships you go through while going to your adventures. The hosts responded to my messages and were helpful and very nice.

With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, plenty of wildlife, and FREE firewood. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting. Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. Primitive tent camping on the Greenville Peace Treaty Line, Buckeye Trail, Ohio-Erie Canal Towpath Trail, Scenic Byway, Tuscarawas River Water Trail, and the Great American Rail Trail! Located on the historic Ohio-Erie Canal between the village of Bolivar Ballparks and the McDonnell trailheads on the towpath trail ten miles south of Canton, Ohio, and 1.5 miles west of I-77 exit 93 on Scenic Byway Rt 212 in beautiful Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The Peace Park is designed for bikers, hikers, dog walkers, and anyone traveling through to book a campsite even if anyone isn't available to meet and greet. Campers, once booked may go to an available campsite and set up camp. Dog-friendly, handicapped-accessible Porta-Jon with hand sanitizer, shared electricity for charging phones, pristine aquifer water, picnic tables, fire pits, fire-side benches, birds, butterflies, lightning bugs, wild turkeys, deer, and other wildlife are often seen. Please note: We're located on a section of the Ohio-Erie Canal Scenic Byway, the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad, and a 90-degree corner with a slight slope that causes trucks to downshift brakes. If you're a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs! We now offer disposable individual packaged earplugs in our Porta-Jon.

Welcome to Sawdust FarmCamp! Located in Geneva, Ohio. We have four different sites to choose from: one tent site, two glamping tent sites, and one cabin. NEW 2025! The Nature Mindfulness Hike, where we find a deeper connection to nature, is now included with your stay. It is held every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Need some additional relaxation? Book a Reiki Healing at the Jug House next to the pond for an extra fee. Reiki is a Japanese stress reduction and relaxation technique that promotes healing. Contact your host for availability before booking. We also have the option to book all our sites for a 15-person retreat, with special extras only available for that booking, including a pavilion teepee tent. Portable toilets are available, pets are welcome, and campfires are permitted. Potable water and hot water showers are only available at our cabin, and our glamping sites only have solar camp showers (not the tent site New hot showers are being planned for the 2024 season. Naturalist Isabelle H. Klein wrote a collection of letters from her home of Sawdust (named form the sawdust left by the loggers of the early 60’s) for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Explorer Magazine from the winter of 1969 to the summer of 1976. They then were published as the book “Letters From Sawdust” by the Press of Case Western Reserve University for the Museum. It is a lyrical voyage through the seasons at the Sawdust Tract in Northeast Ohio. She details encounters with the wildlife of the area as well as the changing seasons and plant life. Reminiscent of Thoreau's writings about Walden. In 1978 an additional house was moved onto the property from Sidley's gravel pit and joined with the existing Klein farmhouse. We decided to preserve almost 400 acres of the property with the help of the Western Reserve Land Conservatory for the Cleveland Museum Of Natural History, Natural Areas. Forest is home to the red-sided dace, and 10 rare species of birds, including cerulean warblers. The original small family farm and surrounding woods we have retained are being restored and updated. We are proud to call Sawdust home and would love to share it with you.
