A tranquil 60-acre lake and quiet gurgling creek winding its way through the landscape means inner peace here is almost imminent. One of three fairly short trails provide the setting for a chilled-out walk, where ancient woodlands make a home for birds like the great-horned owl and woodpecker. Launch your canoe, kayak, or rowboat on the northeast edge of the lake for a nice float, or take your furry friend for a dip in the specially designated dog swimming area. Two public beaches and volleyball courts mean you'll have to bring your favorite bathing suit. With all the calm vibes emanating from Lake Alma, don't resist the relaxation, just bask in its glory.
