It's a lovely property with all sorts of perks and amenities. Definitely take advantage of the sauna! I had campsite 2 and it was perfect for my hammock setup. This was a great choice to help me avoid driving through Cincinnati on my road trip.

Sugar shack was well placed (next to a small creek with a mini waterfall... Wouldn't be surprised if the water flow is 14 gallons per minute for the waterfall)... There are trails to walk on, which is a positive.

Aimee’s land is incredible. From start the finish, we had one of the best camping experiences I’ve had in a long time. Everything is well marked and thought out. Directions are very clear and I felt very comfortable wandering around the property, given the signage and well marked trails. Having a privy was helpful if you need to use it, wished we would have used the sauna but it was a sauna outside! 😂 I ran into Aimee while walking around and she is so genuinely kind and open. She really has thought of everything - when you’re staying there, you feel like you’re part of something really special. Thank you, Aimee, for your hospitality.

Loved everything about Fruitdale Farm! Great meadows for the dogs to have a run around the pond. Shady woodland paths to hike before a sauna and hot shower. Quiet & remote feeling without being too off the beaten path!

This is our third time staying at Jim and Sharon's place, and it won't be our last. There are so many quaint Ohio towns to check out within 15 to 30 minutes of the campsite. But the campsite is so perfect, you may not even want to leave for your entire visit. Stop reading reviews and book it! You won't regret it.

1 night at Little Darby Outdoors

I loved this place. It was rainy, so I just parked on the gravel drive instead of venturing out into the acres of grassy countryside, but I had the whole place to myself and the views were wonderful. Even though you can't hook up the RV, you have access to fresh water, hot showers, clean toilet, microwave, and some basic kitchen supplies, indoor seating/game area, and a cute kitty to cuddle. Jay was friendly and easy to work with and the location is convenient, GPS works fine with Jay's added directions for getting in the right driveway. I will definitely recommend this to by RVing friends.

Jay was an amazing host and greeted as we arrived, even though we arrived after 10PM! The property was extremely clean and well maintained. He also offers and amazing building for guests with a shower, toilet and small kitchen area with a microwave, ice maker, and coffee maker. The building also has a basement with all kinds of games like ski ball, pinball, foosball, and a Pac-Man arcade table. Really an amazing property for the price! We'll definitely be back.

Aimee’s place is spectacular! My campsite (rustic) was perfect for my needs, although there are other sites with more amenities. The privy was very nice, with specific instructions. I especially liked the pond and the ability to take a quick swim (water was cool for late May). Highly recommend and would love to return.

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm

Even with the best of lodging, I feel like there's always that one thing that could've made it better- "it was a wonderful cabin EXCEPT FOR..." But honestly, our time at Fruitdale Farms was perfect across the board. The space is gorgeous with so many lovely little things to see (bee hives, inoculated mushrooms logs, trails, a nice little pond with koi). And the Little Fern Cabin was so very perfect and cute. We both thought the bed was amazingly comfortable and were charmed by all the care put into the decor. The gazebo kitchen was one of the best kitchen spaces we've used - so well-stocked with everything you could possibly need in the way of spices, utensils, cookware, etc - any time we thought of something we'd forgotten to bring, it was already there. We also loved that the kitchen was its own space in a revamped aviary. There was easy access to firewood and some tomato and berry plants for sale. We loved our time at the sauna. The printouts they leave for guests detailing places nearby to visit were so helpful - we wouldn't have known about the floating bridge/beaver dam trail if not for that (since it's not officially open and they're still working on the adjacent trail), and it was phenomenal. We also enjoyed the visits of the charming farm-cat Tangie who spent time with us in the mornings and evenings and was the sweetest little love-bug. Thank you again, Aimee, for all the love and care you put into your place. We very much look forward to coming again.

Weekend Trip to Camp Rocky Run

Wonderful! This was our very first trip in our first ever trailer and I’m so thankful to have found Curtis and Michelle’s spot to figure it all out. Even if you are seasoned campers, you will enjoy the quiet, playing in the creek and electric/ water hookups at every site. We will definitely be back!

We loved our experience at Fruitdale Farm! Great camp site tucked away with privacy and lots of space. The picnic table was great and having trees or shade and hammock hanging was an added bonus! Weekend Trip to Green Plains Ranch

We stayed at the bison ranch three nights and loved it and would be glad to return again. When we arrived, Glen was there to greet us and reviewed the property and amenities with us. The RV site is perfectly placed where you can view the pond and surrounding farmland. The property is well maintained, including the Meadows for the steers and the buildings. Glen was available if needed if we had any questions and very accommodating. My wife and I highly recommend the site!

Come stay at our little sustainable farmstead amid the beautiful rolling hills of southern Ohio! Our peaceful 20 acres has a good mix of woods, wild meadows and maintained cleared areas as well as a small pond, all of which can be explored via our nature trail. Enjoy the sounds of nature and an incredible night sky. Farm fresh eggs and fresh produce are available for purchase during the growing season and firewood is available all year round. There is also a wonderful sauna on the property that can be reserved. Great hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, swimming, and disc-golfing opportunities just a few miles away at Paint Creek State Park and the Highland Nature Sanctuary. Amish country is also just 15 minutes away with a great bakery, markets and greenhouses. This area is home to an impressive network of ancient earthworks including the world famous Serpent Mound. Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1). ***Please take note that this is private property and the host lives on site. If you are looking for a place to be loud and party into the night, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to spend some quality time in nature, welcome. There are rules.

With one canoe livery within two miles of us (Little Miami Canoe), you can drop your canoe or kayak in upstream and make your campsite a pit stop before getting picked up downstream by their shuttles. You can also rent a tube from us and go up and down our property or hang out on your tube anchored by the beach. We can also shuttle you upstream on Saturdays and Sundays. You can hike on our property to get scenic views of the Little Miami River Valley or spend time exploring Halls Creek (just down the street), the Fort Ancient Mounds, and others. We know other special local spots we can let you in on, too. We are just a 1/2 mile from the Little Miami Bike Trail and close to Caesar's Creek, Cowan Lake, YMCA's Camp Kearn, and Camp Joy. Plain Folk Music Cafe, Fresh to Morrow, Valley Vineyards, and Little River Cafe, are also short drives if you want to grab a bite to eat and vibe on some cool, local hangouts. This property was the original location of Todd’s Fork Bluegrass Festivals back in the 70’s and is directly on Todd’s Fork with 1/2 mile of River frontage. We reside within the Village of Morrow, walking distance to restaurants and stores. The little Miami Bike Trail is approximately 1/4 mile from our entrance. This property is tucked away and you wouldn’t even know you’re close to town once you’re on site. Valley Vineyards is right down the road to enjoy a bottle of wine and cook your own steak dinner nights. Take a trip to visit Fort Ancient with a day hike. A Native American earthworks complex, the largest hilltop enclosure in the world and soon to be a World Heritage site! Enjoy some canoeing on the Little Miami River a State and National scenic river which is within walking distance. We have kayaks on location for the kids to play in the creek and creeks to hike with numerous fossils deposits. Southwestern Ohio is famous for its Ordovician fossil deposits. Kings Island is approximately 20 minute drive and the Ohio renaissance Festival is near. Caesars creek state park in Cowan lake state park is within a short drive. Smallmouth Bass fishing is awesome on Todd’s Fork and we have plenty of area to Wade fish.

Sweet Spot by Yellow Springs

The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING. Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 4) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.

If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. Plenty of room for tow vehicle at your camp site. Pet policy: Dogs / pets are certainly welcome subject to the following: No destructive behaviors. (Digging, chewing, etc) No aggressive behaviors. (Toward anyone at any time) Please consider that other guests may be present. As of 5/1/24, a new overflow RV spot has been added with 30A electrical. As of 5/1/24, Premium WiFi is now available for additional $5 / day with fast WiFi speeds for working remotely. A suggested route from traveling North on State Route 127 to Camp Rocky Run is to turn in Camden, OH on State Route 725 and head East to Wayne Trace Road. !! NOTE on RV types !! You must have a self contained RV with on board restroom facilities. We have no restroom facilities available. For this reason, we do not offer tent camping. !! NOTE on camp fire location !! The fire ring provided on the shared creek side patio is the only spot a camp fire, of any kind, can be built. (Sorry, but we have had too many damaged spots in the grass from the use of 'portable' fire ring units.) !! NOTE on Class A RVs with towed vehicle !! If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.
