McKee Farm is rich in memories and rich in history. It has been in the family for over 150 years and we were told that it was one of stopping points for the underground railroad. The 240 acre farm boasts a hidden cave, wide open fields, breathtaking forest land, and historic and rustic barns. Nestled at the edge of a wooded creek, Tullihas in the Trees treehouse boasts a beautiful sunset view with rolling hills. Tullihas combines comfort with the thrill of being immersed in nature. Built using recycled electric poles, Tullihas in the Trees has a deck perfect for hammocking, an interior dressed with windows so that guests can feel as if they are living amongst the trees, and two small lofts ideal for a restful night's sleep. Oxley in the Woods is our newest treehouse cabin. Nestled in the woods with a view of the sunset, the lovely A Frame is filled with lovely woodwork, vintage parquet flooring, and private wooded views. The deck is huge! We've had guests set up a tent on the deck beside the treehouse for fun! Swings, and a slide make the Oxley a fun adventure. The double bed in the loft and the two stacked single beds are comfortable and cozy. The McKee Farmhouse was built in the 1800s and is rich in memories. It's a rustic old house, with wood trim, hardwood floors, and plenty of imperfections that make it unique. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee with a view of the barn and pastures, or cozy up in one of the house's four bedrooms and sleep in. The house is fully air conditioned and heated, has all the amenities of home, but takes you back to a simpler time. Our campsites are all set apart from one another in various locations on the 240 acre farm. Secluded and unique, each campsite has its own charm. We provide guests with a fire ring and a shovel, and some sites have a picnic table. Hiking trails are marked throughout the land. Guests can hike with views of horses, cows, wildlife, corn fields, large boulders, and rustic barns. The dirt roads provide great places to drive ATVs and four-wheelers. An Amish farm borders McKee Farm. Guests should know there is minimal cell service, however, this can offer a great opportunity to unplug. We have two finished studio cabins. They are very close (2 miles) to the town of Mount Vernon, OH with hiking trails on the property. Plenty of bike trails around town and only 20 miles to Mohican State Park. Farm fresh eggs from our rescued chickens and local honey are available for purchase. We have lived here since 2004, the blueberries have lived here for over 60 years. This site has more topography than most of the surrounding county. Learn more about this land: Several sites available on an organic blueberry farm near Oberlin College and Lake Erie. Blueberries are ripe in July. Site #2 is down by the Chance Creek, about 1/2 mile from the driveway. Very peaceful down there - a walk-in site.  Site #1  is about 100 yards from the driveway, Site #1 also has access to a small shed.  Both sites are woodsy and away from neighbors, roads and houses, however the interstate is not far. When the wind blows from the north you can barely hear it, but when a south wind blows and/or there is rain on the interstate, it can be pretty loud. We don't have a latrine. We have two "luggable-loo's" if you need them, have liners, too.

Deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, song birds, raptors and waterfowl are common sights on the farm, along with an elusive bobcat and mink. Current campsites are nestled along the tree line of a picturesque field, and will be next to the creek. Each site has its own fire ring and table. A common area overlooking lush wood lined fields features a pine log swing, a large fire pit with stone seats, and a hammock. There are many things to see and do within a 20-30 minute drive from your campsite, including Mohican State Forest, State Park and Adventure park, Malabar Farm, Tree Frog Canopy Tours and Ohio Amish country. Learn more about this land: This is an exclusive camping experience. We currently allow no more than four filled camp sites at a time on the property. This way we can better ensure that your stay will be quiet, relaxing and completely enjoyable. All campers at sites 1-3 must be over the age of 18. Site 4 allows children and pets. This is to ensure a quiet and relaxing experience for all campers.

I absolutely loved the area. Bo was very nice. The scenery and the camp sites were really cool. My only thing (which was kinda on me) was I was unable to get a fire started because I came in the wet season. But spring and summer would be a whole different experience! Would definitely come back!

What a great place. So much to explore. I enjoyed it greatly. The cabin is cozy, and there are acres of privacy; the scenary is beautiful. There is plenty of space inside the cabin for people to walk around, get comfy, and eat a hearty meal. The upstairs has 2 beds that are at queen-sized. There are plenty of books and DVD movies, a wall-mounted TV, 2 big sofas (3 seat and 2 seat), a massive bean bag, and a dining table. The restroom includes a toilet, sink, bathtub shower, and a washer and dryer. The kitchen has a mini fridge with a freezer, dual sink, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, toaster, and plenty of pots, pans, and dishware. There is plenty of heat to keep you warm in the wintertime. The place is very clean - vacuums included. Wi-fi and cell phone signals are not really accessable at the United Cabin but they are at the host's home property, which is a 3 min drive away. Nearby, there is a small pond, a cornfield, plenty of hills, and forests with trails. Thank you Michelle and PJ for sharing your Cabin with us.

We stayed at the A-frame this past weekend and absolutely loved it! The place was super clean and had literally everything we needed (we definitely overpacked 😅). There was plenty of firewood for us, which made hanging out by the fire so nice. PJ was awesome — super friendly, available if you need anything, and honestly willing to go the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect. When we arrived, a few lights weren’t working, and he was super concerned it might ruin our stay. He even offered to come fix them right away, but it really wasn’t an issue for us at all. We also loved that we could bring our dogs! They had the best time running around off leash and exploring. Cell service isn’t great out there, but honestly, that was exactly what we needed — the perfect little disconnect. This was our first time using the Hipcamp app, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. We’d 100% come back again!

I'll tell you, the pictures are great but they don't do justice to the peace and comfort this place brings. When we arrived the camp host told us to ask for anything we needed, and they held true to that. The property has tons of places to hike. Everything around you is gorgeous. The beds are comfy, and the cabin is warm. There's no wifi or cellular signal, which was a benefit in my opinion.

My kids and I had an absolute blast camping at Tullihas in the Trees! It's just as amazing as it looks in the pictures and so much more! The beds were unquestionably comfy, the cabin very well appointed, and despite the freezing night temperatures, the little heater in the corner kept us toasty warm without a struggle. My kidds loved the swings, I enjoyed the hammock quite a bit, and that was easily the nicest latrine I've seen in my 30+ years of camping. A perfectly sized cabin for a family of three!

My 2 littles and I stayed here for our yearly mommy & little escape and had the best time! The cabin was in such a peaceful area, but so much to explore! Everything we needed was available and it was very comfortable. The kids loved the little fishing pond too! PJ greeted us when we got there and gave us the background information on the place; which was very interesting. He made us feel welcome and was available when needed! We will definitely return! Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!
