The primitive campground is in the corner of a small 40 acre farm owned by Matt Polcyn. He started the campground 8 years ago because of his love for nature and real camping. He enjoys traveling in many places in the States and the Caribbean islands and loves finding places off of the beaten path and not commercialized. Because of his interest and love for primitive camping he decided to open the campground in order to provide the same opportunity as a getaway primitive camping location that he tries to find when he travels. This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The Camp Cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. 10/10. Would give it 6 stars if I could. This place was the perfect escape. First, the location is amazing. Tucked away, quiet, and—the best part—absolutely zero cell service. My phone became a very expensive brick, and it was glorious. Highly recommend. The A-frame itself is pure cozy. It got a little chilly, but we fired up the wood-burning stove and that helped keep the cold away Also, can we talk about the bathroom? Clean. Close by. Not a terrifying spider-shed a half-mile away. We over-packed by a large amount. Don't be like us. Just bring your clothes, some food, and a good attitude. The host has already thought of everything else. We'll definitely be back, just with about 80% less stuff.

We had a wonderful stay here! The facilities were nice and the grounds beautiful - I definitely recommend a walk around the fishing pond. The autumnal foliage was gorgeous mid-October. Staff was responsive and even brought us extra firewood on a chilly evening when the camp store was out.

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin

Absolutely loved staying at the A frame cabin. My partner and I brought our two dogs. Had a great time having bonfires and checking out trails. They also left a pumpkin for us to carve which was so fun and nice of Jim and Tracy to do! Rented the diesel heater and it was well worth it! Jim came and gave us a visit and was very kind. Would definitely recommend checking this place out and hope to come back in the future! :)

A terrific stay. Feel like you are in the country, but close enough to civilization in case anything happens. The cabin is perfect. Host communicates quickly. The barn was a big hit with my two young girls. Cozy and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

1 night at The Turkey Hollow Campground

It is a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. There are a number of sites to choose from; in the woods or out in the open on grass. The only truly level place is on the grass near the road in so it is not an ideal camping spot for larger pull trailers or RVs. My camper is only 13' so it was just small enough. To my surprise there are a few power hookups and a water hydrant. Also, the owner has provided a port-a-potty and an outdoor shower with an on-demand water heater! He also provides firewood for a reasonable price. If you are a star gazer, there are clear views of the sky with no light pollution. If you like primitive camping with some amenities this is your place. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a night while on a road trip, and absolutely loved it!! Jim and Tracy have thought of literally everything one could need - such a comfortable and easy stay, while still getting that camping vibe. Communication was great, land was beautiful, and felt safe as a solo camper. Would recommend.

1 night at A-frame rustic cabin

I rented this site with my partner for my birthday and to see someone else’s take on a smaller of off-grid lifestyle. (Apparently one you can haul up a mountain if inspired.) Fantastic communication with our hosts set us up for success. Jim and Tracy are so considerate! The site is away from the road enough and the view from the A-frame is pointed away from the driveway (see photo). We enjoyed hearing different birds and the quiet. Almost no outside noise, just an occasional distant truck. A beautiful variety of trees surround the A-frame. The deck and fire pit area are wonderful to relax in. One of my favorite parts was enjoying the small wood burner inside at the end of the day. So happy we booked here!

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin

Absolutely loved our stay here! So quiet, secluded, and the stars at night were breathtaking. Jim and Tracy really go above and beyond to make sure their guests have the best experience, providing so many little extras that don’t go unnoticed. We had a pretty chilly night and they stopped by the next morning to make sure we still had enough supplies, and even dropped off some pumpkins for us to carve. Quality campsite and hosts, we can’t wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Valley Overlook

We arrived at the campground a bit later than expected and had some trouble figuring out where to park and it was a bit tricky to maneuver in the dark. Thankfully, the camp host was very responsive. The short hike to the overlook was a good morning stroll. Overall, it’s a great campsite for anyone who enjoys camping but still wants access to bathroom and shower facilities.

1 night at The Turkey Hollow Campground

This is a beautiful spot! I appreciated the diversity of site areas, in the grass under the sun or under trees, and the warm outdoor shower was a great amenity. My only difficulty was getting there by bike. It's a tough climb no matter which way you go. I followed directions on the website to take the paved road on the way there from the OTET trail, which is steep with some blind turns. It felt unsafe given my slow speed and fast drivers, but maybe it was just the time of day. I chose to hike my bike down the gravel road (TWP 102) back to the trail the next morning since I wasn't confident my brakes could handle the descent with a fully loaded bike and didn't want to walk on the busier road. I would probably take the gravel road up if I had to do it again.

Weekend Trip to The Turkey Hollow Campground

This was a great place to stay, especially if you are looking to explore Berlin or Millersburg. The sites were nicely secluded and every site had a fire pit and picnic table. It's helpful to arrive in the daylight for first timers so that you find the right sites. Regular camping is a left right after registration. Cabins and the group sites are farther down the hill. A beautiful place to stay and we'd happily come back.

We loved the little cabin in the woods. Was lovely and peaceful. We loved the goats and the chicken. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking a cabin to stay in the Cleveland/ Akron area.
