A small homestead on the bank of Abbotts Creek near where it feeds into High Rock Lake. Peace and solitude , but close to the amenities of town. Less than a five minute drive to the grocery store, and less than a fifteen minute drive to uptown Lexington. Public access for kayaks is less than half a mile away. And the view is unbelievable!
We have a corn hole board and bags now available for use, as well as a few other yard games. Please let us know if you are interested in using them.

Second site is a tent/rv site that sits on the edge of a 3 acre pasture on the bank of Marshall Creek. Other nearby interests include kayaking, tubing, and fishing the Dan River, Zip-lining, Pilot Mt. State Park, Also the town of Mt. Airy (Mayberry) from the Andy Griffith show. You can also visit the well known Maybry Mill on a nearby section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. And of course you can always have a memorable time simply hanging around camp enjoying a cozy fire or gazing into the brightly lit starry skies that have escaped the city lights.

This land was once owned by Noah Hays himself. He was the main farmer on this land along with other farming land on this road. Hints the name "Noah Hays Road". We stopped farming this land long ago but some of his relatives are still farming on the land he use to farm on. You will see one of his old plots still being farmed across the street from our property. There is still the old cabin he use to live in along with an old curing barn they use to hang the tobacco in after harvest. We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was peaceful, secluded, clean, cozy, and surprisingly roomy. It had everything needed for a couple’s stay, and we comfortably made it work with three kids and our dog by bringing a few extra items. The kids loved exploring the property, and the sunrise behind the cabin (to the right) made for the perfect morning coffee view.
The only thing to note is the driveway, just as the listing mentions. It’s a steep, pebble-covered hill, so a 4WD vehicle is definitely recommended. Our Tahoe in 4WD had no issues at all, while our Prius needed a little momentum to make it up.
If you’re looking to unplug, enjoy nature, and relax around a campfire, this place is a wonderful getaway. We’d definitely stay here again!

This was a great place! It was so peaceful and felt very private. Our dog had a great time running around in the woods (though we did have to pull a few ticks off of her later!) The place was very thoughtfully prepared, with bedside tables, a small table, and plenty of cookware. Outside there were chairs around the campfire pit and a picnic table. Plenty of water for drinking and washing. Would love to stay here again!

This HipCamp property was a beautiful, peaceful and enriching way to unwind and appreciate nature. I enjoyed chasing around several species of rare birds, taking in the abundance of fauna and flora all around me and seeing my 11 year old daughter interact with the farm animals. The hospitality that the hosts showed us was very special and appreciated. I’m thankful for the experience.

2 nights at Marshall Creek Farm
The Marshall Creek Cabin was secluded and peaceful. It was all set up so minimal supplies were needed. Decor was simple and inviting. Darin was very responsive to my questions. There was a nice trail to walk, and a fire pit for the evening to relax by. There were solar lights both outside and inside. The is no AC/Heat and it is clearly advertised . We came prepared with a battery operated fan. Luckily for us we had cool weather nights in mid June so we slept in comfort. We saw the owl house hanging on a tree and actually heard it at night.
There is a shower (no hot water unless you heat it over the fire) and a portable jon both just 20-30 steps from the cabin.
I would highly recommend this site to anyone. I will hopefully return. It was the perfect getaway for my husband and myself.

My stay at this property was truly wonderful. The space is beautiful and thoughtfully crafted, with so many touches that make it feel special. Sitting on the swing overlooking the tall trees, relaxing in the hammock, and taking a cold outdoor shower made the whole experience feel grounding and restorative. It was the perfect reset during my road trip. Natellie is a fantastic host and communicated clearly throughout my stay.

Had such a great getaway at this site. The cabin was amazing, everything you could need. So much care and attention was appreciated. You don't need to bring anything other than some clothes and a few groceries.
The views were beautiful and the weather was great.

This camp spot is so beautiful! The property has lots to explore, the cabin comes with everything you need so you can pack light. You can tell how much care and thoughtfulness has gone into this space. We loved meeting all the animals! The only downside is it’s close to a main road/highway so you easily hear the traffic. However, if you’re looking for somewhere close to restaurants, shopping, etc, this is perfect because you feel secluded enough but are minutes away from all of that. The owners were so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!
