My Family of three stayed in a small cabin right by Elk Creek. We had breakfast on a little balcony overlooking the creek. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Got there during the dark, so not having to setup a tent was certainly a benefit. Dianne is a great host and so very friendly and helpful!

Garry and Dianne were so kind to share their lovely log cabin with our family. Dianne was especially kind and sweet, and we truly appreciated their hospitality. The cabin was beautifully prepared for us, and there was plenty of space to pitch a tent right outside. Our kids especially loved fishing by the stream and roasting s’mores by the campfire. It was such a fun and relaxing getaway for all of us. We’ll definitely try to come back in the future!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mother Earth and our dog did too. Beautiful views , peaceful very secluded with all the comfort of home. We love the way they set up the yurt really cool how they decorated and designed it inside and out, romantic and fun, nice fire pit with wood provided, wrap around deck with hot tub and seating picnic table & rockers, spacious bathroom, very clean, we would definitely go back and highly recommend.

I booked mother Earth to celebrate a birthday and anniversary celebration. We could not have been any happier with the yurt. It had about anything that you could need. It was decorated in such a thoughtful and beautiful way. You could tell that a lot of thought and Care was put into the decorations. Everything was really clean when we got there. We were also pleasantly surprised that jodee put up a happy birthday banner for my boyfriend and also wrote a little sign for us. Wishing us a happy birthday/ anniversary. We would 100% book this again.

Both domes can be booked individually or together (please see my other listings in my profile for availability). My goal is always to maximize privacy and I’ve worked hard to create guest seclusion and minimize visibility from the other dome. With that, the domes are separated by 150 feet but are connected via a staircase that has been built into the mountain. If another couple is staying in the other dome during your stay, it is likely that you may hear them during your stay. Finally, our ideal location and close proximity to Blowing Rock is a direct result of our proximity to NC 321. Guests should be aware that they may hear road noise. STEEP MOUNTAIN DRIVEWAY: Please note that the driveway to the TreePod is a mountain road that is ONLY accessible by AWD or 4x4. If you are not comfortable driving on gravel mountain roads, or do not have a 4x4 or AWD, you’re welcome to park at a dedicated space at the top of the driveway and take a 450’ hike to the dome. WINTER WEATHER: In the event of a winter weather during your stay you will be required to park at the top of the driveway regardless of what type of vehicle you arrive in. This does involve a short 350’ walk from that location to the GeoDome door. In general snow fall is light and usually melts the next day. HEATING/COOLING: The Treepod includes both heating and cooling as well as several space heaters and electric blankets. While we make every attempt to create a comfortable environment the domes are not insulated in the same way your home may be and does not heat and cool like a conventional home or apartment. We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat, wooded, and grassy yard for exploring plus a fire pit and plenty of seating. We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish! The space Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four, and bar for two. In the living area, there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies, or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi. Our property is treated but since it's in the woods there is a chance you could see a bug or two! Guest access Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the wintertime, there should be no problems accessing the property. You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a log cabin that’s located 35 yards to the right of the cabin. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know. Other things to note Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away.
