My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat, wooded, and grassy yard for exploring plus a fire pit and plenty of seating. We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!
The space
Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four, and bar for two. In the living area, there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies, or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi. Our property is treated but since it's in the woods there is a chance you could see a bug or two!
Guest access
Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the wintertime, there should be no problems accessing the property.
You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a log cabin that’s located 35 yards to the right of the cabin. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know.
Other things to note
Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. We are located along 1600 ft of the North Toe River. Buck Hill Campground is the perfect place for families to relax and play! We have a large covered picnic table, gas grill, charcoal grill, swing, and chairs, all available for guests to use at no extra charge. On many nights, we start a fire in our propane firepit and invite everyone to join us. It usually starts at dusk and ends around 10:30pm. There’s a comfortable cushioned swing and chairs. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy an evening fire in the mountains.
Inside the guest lounge, there’s a television with wifi reception, games, books, and a telescope. There’s also a Crane Combo vending machine with many snack options including an assortment of cold drinks. You will also find your coffee fix in the mornings with the airpot coffee dispenser free of charge.

My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat, wooded, and grassy yard for exploring plus a fire pit and plenty of seating. We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!
The space
Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four, and bar for two. In the living area, there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies, or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi. Our property is treated but since it's in the woods there is a chance you could see a bug or two!
Guest access
Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the wintertime, there should be no problems accessing the property.
You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a log cabin that’s located 35 yards to the right of the cabin. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know.
Other things to note
Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. Buck Hill Campground has been a family favorite campground for 50+ years. However, in 2024 Hurricane Helene came through and destroyed it. We have a large covered picnic table, gas grill, charcoal grill, swing, and chairs, all available for guests to use at no extra charge. On many nights, we start a fire in our propane firepit and invite everyone to join us. It usually starts at dusk and ends around 10:30pm. There’s a comfortable cushioned swing and chairs. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy an evening fire in the mountains.
Inside the guest lounge, there’s a television with wifi reception, games, books, and a telescope. There’s also a Crane Combo vending machine with many snack options including an assortment of cold drinks. Quiet and secluded. Nothing around but morning birds and the consistent sound of the rippling water minus the jets descending off the mountain. If you desire PEACE and want to unplug from life but have a roof over your head with electric and running water look no more because this is it!!! Not much to do but sit and soak on one of 3 decks.

Adins cabin is a MUST for out of towners, especially leaving from the city. Highly recommended, just bring blankets sheets and pillows/cases! Everything was pretty straight forward and maybe a hybrid or van type vehicle is recommended as well.

It is about a 50 minute drive to Asheville from it.

If you're looking for fancy, bells and whistles this isn't for you. If you're looking for privacy, peace and serenity in a rustic cabin then you found it. The cabin is small but cozy. The cabin does have hot water, but only for a couple minutes. It has a decent size sink in the kitchen. The bathroom is tiny and not for the costraphibic, but it's nice having something indoors. There also an outhouse. Adin offers heat for an extra fee if you ask. We didn't use it, it was chilly at night, but still warmer than tent camping. The rd to the cabin in narrow and a little steep, but we made it in and out with two wheel drive. The property terrain itself is pretty rugged and steep(sometimes slippery) with cliffs. I would say younger children need good supervision venturing if you bring them and it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. If you have children I would bring a baby gate for the upstairs loft, as it's an open entrance and exit at the ladder stairs, which are steep. Room for extra tents in site. There's tons of deck space here with three decks and amazing views from the top. The sounds of the rapids and the frogs are so serene. The river is beautiful and clear with plenty of room. There's also some trails on the property. Sadly you can see some of the damage caused by flooding from the hurricane. Our little family enjoyed our stay here. Adin and his wife were kind and helpful. What a blessing to own a beautiful piece of paradise. Thank you for sharing it.

My family & I loved Adin’s cabin. It was perfect for us to escape the fast city life for the weekend. We walked the creek bank, searched for worms, tried fishing.. but had no luck. Mr. Adin said Helene had taken most of the fish. The water was crystal clear, & the sound of the water moving had me mesmerized.
