My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard. We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. Tent sites do not have electricity or water hookups, but water is available at the well. (Due to inflation, 2024 our rates will be $30/night for RV Sites, $25/night for Tent Sites.) We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John and a list of dump stations nearby. Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. Campers are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Please be extremely careful during dry or drought conditions. Conveniently located one mile from Hwy 421 but remote and peaceful with plenty of room to roam on our 22 acres with grapevines, fruit trees, forest, creeks, fields, goats, Beagle and Jackabee (Beagle/Jack Russell) dogs, cows, chickens, ducks and goats. I took my 4 year old granddaughter camping here at Amy’s Pecan Tree Farm, we stayed 2 nights and she didn’t want to leave. We hung a hammock up, we played with magnetic sand, she chased after the wild bunnies. She loved the outside string lights. I felt very safe. It was so peaceful! I will stay here again next time I’m passing through.

Weekend Trip to PRIVATE Retreat near Lake Norman

We had a lovely weekend! My 30 foot travel trailer was perfectly level, easy to hook up. Water and Electric. At the close of the weekend I drove over to Lake Norman State Park to dump my tanks. My friends came and set up their tent nearby. It was a quiet weekend, felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. And yet you’re close enough to Troutman if you want to go in for groceries or dinner. Or the nearby winery is a favorite place to go! Amy stopped by briefly just to welcome us! She was quick to communicate prior to the trip regarding any question I had. The rabbits and the birds kept us entertained all weekend. Recommend this place! We’ll be back!

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was great. This is an AMAZING location - very near Merlefest (Wilkesboro, NC), and I was the only car camping here. This is on a farm, in a field, with a creek and cows. There are port-a-potties that I didn't check out, an ice machine in a shed (free to use) and a really nice tree swing that overlooks the crick and the cows. There are fairy lights along the paths. The owner has been a wonderful communicator, and everything was great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone (especially the Merlefest people out there!!!!!)

Nice people. Convenient location. Very clean. Wasn’t finished when I was there. Looks like it will be even better in a few months. Little loud with an industrial are and highway nearby. Sites aren’t that level.

The site was amazing and the only one allowing for great privacy. The site also has full hook ups, great water pressure and the star gazing was wonderful. Starlink had plenty of open sky to connect us to work with a 99.8% connection. We will absolutely be coming back while visiting family in the area. Thank you Chad and Julie for the amazing stay. We look forward to the next visit! 😊

Beautiful peaceful spot! Fun view of the cows and the creek swimming hole is wonderful! The Cub Creek park is perfect for a morning coffee and running the kids. If we are ever in the area again we will be back!

Oh my gosh! What a perfect, perfect place for us to stay at during Merlefest. Lance was super kind, helpful and informative. The field was spectacularly beautiful and peaceful. Minimal leveling needed for our 26' travel trailer. Easy access to our site. The tripod doggoe even stopped by to welcome us. And somehow, somehow, we managed to even get a doordash delivery in the middle of a field with no house number. Lol. We loved it here. Would def 10/10 recommend staying here for any event Wilkesboro'ish!!!

We had a great stay at Cedar Grove Farm. Set up for couple nights. Nice fire pit area. The 4 cows were nice and quiet. And seemed to enjoy our presence. Sunsets were beautiful. The spot was just a little tricky to get in and out of but only because i didn’t want to get into the grass too much. Julie and Chad checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed
