Camping at Pooh‘s Corner was one of the most amazing experiences I have had car camping. The hosts are absolutely delightful. The area is serene, and the amenities are hotel quality. The “secret” gorge is worth the trip. I cannot wait to return!

We had such a great time, despite the rain, at Pooh’s Hideaway! Super close to the compost toilet and hot water dispenser. Plenty of space for our Wawona 6 tent and then some. We joked that the only thing missing was an ice machine! lol thank you Matt and Sheryl for having us!

We loved camping at Poohs corner! The spot is very pleasant and peaceful while offering a good view of the stars at night. It’s also not too far from town which is plus. To add on to this, it had rained during our stay and I ended up getting my car stuck in the mud, but Matt and Sheryl are problem solvers and went out in the middle of the rain to get us unstuck with their tractor, which I am very thankful for. All around, this is a great spot to camp and get away from city life and is hosted by very wonderful people.

This was a lovely last-minute stay! Matt & Sheryl were so kind and welcoming! The land was beautiful and private, and they had any extras you may need at Pooh’s corner. We will definitely be back again!

it was phenomenal. Matt and Sheryl were so sweet and helped us the whole time! even stayed up late because we ran into a lot of traffic.

an absolutely beautiful site! the hosts are so sweet and the area and amenities are extremely convenient, clean, and cozy. it’s very close to the park (which is why we came, so that was very convenient). the shed has a nice and clean toilet, info about the area, and any other odds and ends you might need camping, which were so helpful. with the rain we experienced, it got hard to drive up to the site with our 2-wheel-drive car, but otherwise, no complaints at all!

Weekend Trip to Sugar Creek Camp @ Vestel Hills

It was beautiful camping right near the creek, listening to the water and watching pileated woodpeckers and chipmunks! Host was consciencious and called me beforehand to tell me where the sites are and that the road may require 4 wheel drive, prompting me to bring a pull wagon. It was wet the weekend I went so I just parked in the driveway and wagoned my stuff down the short walk to the creekside campsite.

This place just has such a great vibe. Each spot puts you in a lil camping spot but you are far enough away that you have privacy. The hosts are super nice and easy to get ahold of. Love that the camp site comes with a tripod for cooking (which we took advantage of). Highly recommend for camping!!

My dog bean and i stayed for about 2 weeks. We had the most perfect time. Matt and Sheryl are absolutely perfect and wonderful hosts. Great honey! Beautifully maintained land! super clean bathroom/solar shed situation with tons of info and recommendations about the surrounding area. Really perfect experience :)

The camp space was delightful. Matt welcomed us and gave us a tour of the amenities such as the compost bathroom and the wash basin. The space was quiet and peaceful. At night the stars seemed so close as the night was clear. The skies full of stars was an added bonus. I purchased honey online when I reserved the spot. Sheryl was ready with my honey when I arrived. Great setup.

WELCOME to Pooh's Corner- We hope you enjoy Pooh's Corner as much as we enjoy having all of you great Hipcampers sharing our beautiful Fingerlakes Region with us. Pooh's Corner lies in a rural area just 1.5 miles from Watkins Glen. (3315 County Road 28, Watkins Glen, NY 14891). We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. We highly recommend "Havana Glen State Park" (same general area) for those types of camping units.

Towner's Country Paradise

Towner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. By the early 1970's our main and largest pond was built and since that time our fully functional cabin, several more fish ponds, roads, trails, running water and generated electricity have been added. Christmas Trees are still grown and harvested by Terry's son Scott Towner. Green rolling hills, deep valleys, a waterfall, ponds stocked with fish, a fully functional cabin, herds of deer, flocks of turkey and Canada Geese, & well-maintained roads and trails here in Addison NY. It's so private that even most of the people who live in our small town don't know we're here! CHECK OUR REVIEWS!OPTION to camp/hike in the woods for a more wild experience. NEARBY: restaurants including Chinese, Subway, pizza/wings, & several excellent diners offering take out or eat-in. ALSO: Dollar General, Wal-Mart (15 min away), Dunkin Donuts (5 min away), & gas stations.Your jaw will *drop* when you see Towner's Country Paradise for the first time!
