You'll notice a handful of weekends that the campground is closed or would appear fully booked; those may be times that we have ticketed music festivals happening, in which case you can find that information on our main website.
Our many camping and lodging options allow families to relax, enjoy nature, and create memories. We have around 100 sites throughout our 300 acres, some woodsy, some with views of the rolling hills and some with electric service.
The Heron grounds boast a swimming and fishing pond, and over 4 miles of on-site hiking trails. Located on over 400 acres in beautiful Chautauqua County, NY, we are a working organic farm with a shiitake mushroom yard and on-site farm store.
We host weddings, educational workshops, retreats, private events, captivating music festivals, and much more!
We offer many different options for camping, from tent sites nestled in the woods to RV sites with electric hook-ups (electric site reservations are to be made on that specific listing and are limited).
We allow pets, all dogs must on a leash 6ft or shorter in length and held by an adult, there is a $20/stay pet fee for pets that can be paid prior to arrival.
Beach/Swimming Rules: Two adults 18 or over are required to supervise when there are children swimming. (Even if only one child is present.)
No swimming outside of the designated/roped swim area.
No watercraft allowed anywhere in the pond.
Do not use soap in the water, we have showers!
No alcohol, no glass or open containers.
On-site Phone is for Emergencies only (located in the beach hut to the left of the beach area). Creating a reservation is your agreement with this rule.

When arriving at Steelhead Run you are greeted by the sounds of Lake Erie. It is a short walk to beautiful Lake Erie and Chautauqua Creek. There are two camp sites adjacent from one another. One is labeled the east side and the other is labeled the west side. They are about 100 feet apart from one another. It is ideal for friends and/or family who would like camp as a group. The sites cannot accommodate boat trailers. Our location offers an array of experiences from walks along the beach, wildlife viewing, relaxing to the view of incredible sunsets and so much more. Cocktails, food, and public boat launching can be found in town just half a mile up the road. A quick drive inland, the historic town of Westfield provides weekend farmers markets in the summer months, wineries, eateries, and antique shopping.

How’s that for a pedigree? The swimming might not be great but there's plenty to do at the shallowest of the Great Lakes. It’s a great place to picnic, watch the migratory birds, fish, and lounge on the beach. Take a canoe or a kayak out on the lake. Take advantage of the winter snow to go cross-country skiing. There’s even a disc golf course called Shipwreck Bluff Disc Golf Course. Forgot your putter at home? You can pick up a spare from the visitor center. In addition to the 97 campsites (tent & RV), there are 10 cabins in this 355-acre campground, with plenty of views of bluffs and protected water to go around. People rave about the sunsets here. Since the sites are lakeside, you can watch from the comfort of your camp chair. Once you’ve had your fill of lake life, head over to Niagara Falls. It’s just a short drive down the road.

This is a campsite that has picturesque view of surrounding farmland and of Peek-n-Peak. Located conveniently off of Rt426 with a slight drive along a field to reach the destination. Private and out of the way. Plenty of wildlife (family of fox and usually mamma deer and her babies, can normally be seen doing what animals do. Close to Peek-n-Peak and Findley Lake and its many amenities. Has fantastic cell reception so remote working is an absolute possibility if longer stays are wanted.
This is a little campsite on top of a hillside besides, you guessed it, a big oak. This is on a working hay farm, so depending on when you arrive you might be able to see hay being harvested. Again, this a newer campsite so improvements will be made based on demand.
New and hopefully "easier to get to campsite" entrance: To enter the property, you will use a field entrance right off Harrington Hill Road (coming from the west it will be on your left-hand side). Entrance is directly across from the wooded area where the campsite is at and you will be going through an active hay field to reach it, but the path should be defined enough in the field that you can follow the tracks from previous cars.

There is a house on the property and may not be right for the traveler who is looking for a remote experience. No water or toliet. The site is perfect for weary travelers who need an overnight break from the road. And is very close to Interstate 90. The site is nestled in wine country. With an amazing view of Lake Erie. The 30 amp service is in front of a large hedge between the house next to the Amish shed. The 30 amp Service is on a developed driveway. The site is on private land on a rural road with a Breathtaking views of lake Erie sunsets and Canadian windmills. A gentle breeze and stargazing welcomes you. Nearby activities include horseback, riding, wine tasting, breweries, Chautauqua Institution, Amish markets, rural bike riding, hiking along the Chautauqua gorge. Limited man-made light perfect for stargazing. Serenade by farm animals nearby with plenty of deer, crickets and silence except for the Fourth of July. Bear, Deer, coyote, song birds, bunnies abundant. NO AGGRESSIVE DOG BREADS that will chase or hunt the wildlife. NO FIREWORKS. Firewood can be picked up in town or forged on the property. No cutting down or damaging trees. This is a quiet area not for any loud noises or partying. One night fee charge if garbage is left behind (that includes cigarette butts). Sorry about all the rules but, you never know. Back acres provide plenty of hiking and a secret beaver dam. May need levelers because there is a mild incline on the driveway. Please camp on the driveway. Grass tends to stay wet and could be a problem getting stuck. LEAVE NO TRACE. GARBAGE IN/GARBAGE OUT. Send me a picture of your set up!!! Enjoy

Compass Rose Campground is 49 acres of camping fun. You can choose to go deep into the woods for a maximum camping experience or stay closer to the modern amenities. A full kitchen is available as well as bathrooms with showers. No potable water is available. The pond was created and stocked in 2022. Bring your fishing poles and rafts!! Kayaks are available for campers also. There are many, many trails available for hiking including an enchanted fairy trail. Located on the Walsh Family Farm property, this camping area is set up for tent or RV camping. The location is a secluded, sectioned area of a field, with woods on two sides, close to the Chautauqua Rails for Trails entrance. There is fire wood for sale, a communal picnic table and fire pit on site. Located within walking, biking, or a short driving distance are the Chautauqua Rails for Trails, the Chautauqua Gorge, and the Westside Overland Trail. Additional courtesy camping items available at little cost upon request. Farm fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables, and farm raised meat available at farm stand.
The entrance to the property is on Summerdale Road. From Lyons Road, turn right on to Summerdale Road. Drive past the first house on the right hand side. Just a little further down the road you will see a Harvest Host sign and a blue double field gate. Please park in the location indicated via text messaging confirmation.
Please be aware that the farm is a working farm with very cute Dexter cows pastured on the other side of the fence. The back side of the fenced area is electrified so remember not to touch the wire.
Also please be aware that there are many black bear sightings in the area. Always place food and snacks in bear containment canisters and lock vehicle doors.
Recommended Best Practices:
-pack all food, wrappers, trash, toothpaste, lip balms, sunscreen, soaps, and scented toiletries inside the bear canisters. Non-clear canisters are recommended as bears have learned to access clear container models.
-keep bear containment canister on level ground at least 100 feet from your sleeping and cooking area.
-do not hang or attach ropes to the container- bears have learned to use the rope to take the canister with them, and do not leave scented items in tents or vehicle trunks. Remember to lock your vehicle.

The campsite is tucked away into the natural beauty of the Western New York landscape. Enter the private drive and navigate down into the little piece of tranquility. The property has many different areas to set-up a tent or park a camper and has a private gazebo to enjoy. The property has easy access to I-86, Findley Lake, and Chautauqua Lake. If you are looking for a great place to stay close to Peek’n Peak Resort, lake activities, camping, etc., this is the place for you! There is also a Cabin on the property that does get rented out on AirBnb. I live in Ohio full-time and only visit every other weekend so I may not be there during your camping trip but other guests maybe staying in the Cabin.

There is a tiny home on the property that is off limits. The plan is to add well water and electricity in 2027 (check back for updates). The owner lives nearby in Fredonia but sometimes camps on the land with her dog.
Enjoy exploring nature onsite or at one of many nearby parks. Casinos are also close-ish for a fun night out. Have a nice fire at night to cook on or just relax and take in the serene surroundings. In addition to a beautiful view of Lake Erie, this camp site is nestled in a 5 acre Concord grape vineyard. Peace, quiet and privacy. Help yourself to as many grapes as you want! (Growing season is in the fall and you might find some wild strawberries in the spring!). Current owners have had since 2020 and have kept the vineyard organic ever since. Amazing fireflies and stargazing location - we often see shooting stars!

No facilities. Carry in, carry out. Single lane drive. We usually park 2 vehicles single file and carry camping gear to fire pit. Beyond grape-rows can be a muddy area. Grass can be high besides the campsite and access road. Picnic tables are a bit worse for wear but the beautiful view more than makes up for them!

This place was so beautiful! View of the lake and wine country was fantastic! Sunsets and star visibility was really great! Local beaches like Ripley beach was a fun experience too. I would definitely stay here again!
Some things to be mindful of when booking:
The lot is not level so bring extra blocks for your jack and stabilizers. I had to readjust a few times to find the best spot.
If you have pets that are afraid of loud noises like fireworks, there is a gunshot like noise that goes off through out the hour, pretty much all day. Im not sure what it is, but I think it's related to the train that passes through, because I noticed it would go off and shortly after there would be a train. Personally my dog was not a fan of this, so pack a thunder vest if you need one for your pets.

Easy access off of Rt 90 with prompt access to a lovely town, Westfield - with a top notch coffee/breakfast place: Full Strength Coffee. The land was quiet and we had electrical hook-up. As noted by Diane, there is no water for filling but we had plenty when we arrived, so no problem. There appeared to be a camera that monitored the property - cool, and maybe listed on the property description, but is something to note. Overall, a great stay and much appreciated on our cross country trip.

My husband, myself, and our two dogs enjoyed a nice little getaway at the West campsite. Lucky for us the East site was not occupied. We had a delightfully peaceful two nights to ourselves. We loved walking the paths, enjoying the fire pit, and listening to the eagles chatter. The Westfield farmer's market was fun as we're a few local wineries.
