When arriving at Steelhead Run you are greeted by the sounds of Lake Erie. It is a short walk to beautiful Lake Erie and Chautauqua Creek. There are two camp sites adjacent from one another. One is labeled the east side and the other is labeled the west side. They are about 100 feet apart from one another. It is ideal for friends and/or family who would like camp as a group. The sites cannot accommodate boat trailers. Our location offers an array of experiences from walks along the beach, wildlife viewing, relaxing to the view of incredible sunsets and so much more. Cocktails, food, and public boat launching can be found in town just half a mile up the road. A quick drive inland, the historic town of Westfield provides weekend farmers markets in the summer months, wineries, eateries, and antique shopping.

You'll notice a handful of weekends that the campground is closed or would appear fully booked; those may be times that we have ticketed music festivals happening, in which case you can find that information on our main website.
Our many camping and lodging options allow families to relax, enjoy nature, and create memories. We have around 100 sites throughout our 300 acres, some woodsy, some with views of the rolling hills and some with electric service.
The Heron grounds boast a swimming and fishing pond, and over 4 miles of on-site hiking trails. Located on over 400 acres in beautiful Chautauqua County, NY, we are a working organic farm with a shiitake mushroom yard and on-site farm store.
We host weddings, educational workshops, retreats, private events, captivating music festivals, and much more!
We offer many different options for camping, from tent sites nestled in the woods to RV sites with electric hook-ups (electric site reservations are to be made on that specific listing and are limited).
We allow pets, all dogs must on a leash 6ft or shorter in length and held by an adult, there is a $20/stay pet fee for pets that can be paid prior to arrival.
Beach/Swimming Rules: Two adults 18 or over are required to supervise when there are children swimming. (Even if only one child is present.)
No swimming outside of the designated/roped swim area.
No watercraft allowed anywhere in the pond.
Do not use soap in the water, we have showers!
No alcohol, no glass or open containers.
On-site Phone is for Emergencies only (located in the beach hut to the left of the beach area). Creating a reservation is your agreement with this rule.

This is a campsite that has picturesque view of surrounding farmland and of Peek-n-Peak. Located conveniently off of Rt426 with a slight drive along a field to reach the destination. Private and out of the way. Plenty of wildlife (family of fox and usually mamma deer and her babies, can normally be seen doing what animals do. Close to Peek-n-Peak and Findley Lake and its many amenities. Has fantastic cell reception so remote working is an absolute possibility if longer stays are wanted.
This is a little campsite on top of a hillside besides, you guessed it, a big oak. This is on a working hay farm, so depending on when you arrive you might be able to see hay being harvested. Again, this a newer campsite so improvements will be made based on demand.
To enter the property, you will use a field entrance right off Harrington Hill Road (coming from the west it will be on your left-hand side). We have the way marked for you with posts/markers so hopefully it will take you right there. Please be aware this is located on top of a hill (with a big oak, hence its name :)) and you will be going through an active hay field to reach it.

How’s that for a pedigree? The swimming might not be great but there's plenty to do at the shallowest of the Great Lakes. It’s a great place to picnic, watch the migratory birds, fish, and lounge on the beach. Take a canoe or a kayak out on the lake. Take advantage of the winter snow to go cross-country skiing. There’s even a disc golf course called Shipwreck Bluff Disc Golf Course. Forgot your putter at home? You can pick up a spare from the visitor center. Clean air and a clean campground❣️Definitely had a hippy vibe to it, and was not far from the highway. The staff was in contact with me right after my same day reservation, and the owner I met was welcoming. There are port a potties and showers available, but they are in the process of building an actual bathhouse. There is also a pet fee to be aware of. I would describe this as rustic camping, so do not expect something like a formal campground with paved parking spots, fire rings, and picnic tables at the sites. Think open farm field, walk in woods camping. I would stay again❣️

I enjoyed this camping spot a lot and I think Jay was a great host. I'd definitely stay here again anytime I'm on a road trip through the area.
I arrived a little later than I anticipated and Jay was very understanding. He showed me a nice secluded spot in a clearing that came equipped with a fire ring and a small rustic table attached to one of the trees. It was more than enough for my purposes, which was to spend the night in my Jeep.
Firewood was provided, along with some smaller twigs and branches to aid in getting the fire started (although I also came equipped with my own tinder, lighter, etc). There was plenty mroe twigs/branches around the area I was camped as well, but I only really used what was already provided as it was enough for me.
I enjoyed the fire for awhile before finally retiring for the night. The provided table was very helpful for making my morning coffee and oatmeal, after which I walked around a little bit in the woods and on the nearby trail.
When ready to leave, it was easy for me to simply drive my Jeep back onto the road near their house and be on my way.

Perfectly clean and well-appointed improved camp site in a beautiful location. The photos make it appear more private/remote than it is. Think of it as more of a residential spot. There is a trail along tha creak behind the site and people are often walking by. Houses are also close and just across from the sites.. But the creek and lake access are so close, it’s worth having less privacy and a little more noise. (You can hear the freeway in the distance and cars on the nearby road.) We were lucky that there was no one in the spot next to us during our visit so that was nice.

We loved our quick stop at Grape City! The property was easy to find and parking was even easier. We caught the last rays of a beautiful sunset over Lake Erie in the distance and had a quiet evening to recharge before getting back on the road.

Steelhead Run is an amazing campsite! My husband and our friends had a wonderful weekend camping. The directions were perfect, very easy to follow. The paths to Lake Erie are either across the street or right off the site. We enjoyed walking the beach, watching the sunsets and collecting rocks and driftwood. We absolutely loved staying here and would love to come back. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place!!

I loved Kevin’s campsite and the peace and quiet.
We were pleasantly surprised to find multiple apple trees and apples on the ground of the property. Once we determined the right spot to set up camp we had no issues at all with anything hitting our tent.
The view was beautiful, a very short drive into town, and the available wood to make a fire in the fire pit was perfect.
Having a trash can on site was a big plus not having to take our trash with us when we left! We didn’t see any wildlife, but it could have been the time of year we visited.
I wouldn’t hesitate booking this site again. Kevin was responsive and it’s apparent that he takes care of the site.
