Great private site close to Findley lake and Erie wine country! Definitely will need 4th especially if it’s recently rained to get to the site as you have to drive through a field up a large hill to get there. Picnic table and firepit provided. Very peaceful. We will definitely return!

Amazing view, pictures don’t do it justice! There’s a small town 5 minutes up the road with a nice store full of goodies. Wood on site for $5 a stack. Definitely need 4wd!

We had an amazing stay at Big Oak Hill. The sunset alone was one for the books—absolutely unforgettable and worth the trip by itself. Kevin was a fantastic host, quick to respond and super helpful with any questions we had along the way. Everything about the experience was smooth, relaxing, and exactly what we were hoping for. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway.

I loved Kevin’s campsite and the peace and quiet.
We were pleasantly surprised to find multiple apple trees and apples on the ground of the property. Once we determined the right spot to set up camp we had no issues at all with anything hitting our tent.
The view was beautiful, a very short drive into town, and the available wood to make a fire in the fire pit was perfect.
Having a trash can on site was a big plus not having to take our trash with us when we left! We didn’t see any wildlife, but it could have been the time of year we visited.
I wouldn’t hesitate booking this site again. Kevin was responsive and it’s apparent that he takes care of the site.

Big Oak Hill is as advertised!! The views were incredible during the day and the stars put on a show at night. We had deer, groundhogs, hawks and an eagle around our camp. There is a large fireplace with some wood. It is just a four minute drive to Findley lake for fishing, shopping and dining. The only thing the site could use is a picnic table. Thank you Kevin for allowing us to stay on this beautiful piece of land. The Gipsons

This is exactly the kind of spot I've been looking for. I enjoyed privacy but still felt like I had people nearby for safety if needed. The view was spectacular and being surrounded by nature is exactly what I was looking for. This site was perfect for my car and tent. It was level and I had room for both my car, tent and canopy and still be able to sleep level in my car.
I was blessed with perfect weather and was even able to sleep in my hammock for a night.

Kevin’s place is picturesque farmland and far off woods. I love that we were the only campers there. It is private and the views are wide and beautiful. We were able to catch a couple stunning sunsets. The skies are clear and deep with stars. In the morning the sun lights up the field below. I recorded over 25 species of birds on the Merlin app. An eagle visited twice; I think that it hunts from the big Oak. I spied a coyote in a far off field looking for mice. We also saw turkeys and mama deer with their babies. The place is easy to find but not easy to arrive at after lots of rain. We needed some assistance upon arrival then settled into the level patch at the site. After, we lowered the pressure in our tires and made it with no help. It was so worth the struggle. We have a rear wheel drive Promaster so we expect challenges. Planned to split our days between Presque Isle, Findley Lake and Chautauqua, but in the end, spent all the time at Presque Isle since it is so beautiful. Kevin and Nick could not have been nicer. They are thoughtful and wanted to be sure that we enjoyed our trip; we did! Hopefully we will return again this year. Want to get some star pictures for sure.

It is a beautiful spot on the top of a hill with an excellent sunset view. There were thousands of fireflies in late June.
One thing to consider is there is no road to the campsite. When I went, it had been raining previous days and the ground was soggy; my hybrid minivan (an heavy vehicle) actually couldn’t made the drive. Kevin will drive stuff up to the campsite if needed.

Excellent location for overlanding or car camping, hammock camping and tent camping. The site was secluded, peaceful and quiet. There’s a level spot for tents or cars and plenty of trees around for hammock camping. The fire circle was perfectly sized and well maintained. The site is a semi-circle with trees all around but a clear view to the sky for star gazing. The onsite trash can and optional dry firewood was nice. The trail to the site off the main road was a little overgrown and 4wd is nice but might not be necessary, but don’t expect your Miata to drive up the trail. Overall, fantastic spot and I can’t wait to come back!

What a view! Quiet and private overlooking a valley. Kevin the host was great.He called and helped guide us to the camp spot. Might be somewhat challenging for some with bigger trailers. 4x4 strongly recommended. Worth theclime. Was fun! We will be back.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get to the site because there was nonstop rain the week leading up to my booking and the day of, but Kevin was super helpful and helped me get out of the mud, offered me another site, and refunded me. It would have been a beautiful site with views of the valley and sunset and far enough away from anyone to enjoy total peace and quiet. I hope to try again some day.

Amazing views and super-responsive host. Take Kevin seriously, though, when he tells you that you may need 4-wheel drive if there has been rain. We visited on a dry day and still had a bit of trouble getting our trailer up the hill. We have a 4-wheel drive truck, so were able to make it, but we were nervous for a minute! The sunset made it 100% worth it.
