Learn more about this land:Relax and be inspired during your stay in the renovated Winnebago at, The Western Star. This is a quaint, cozy space designed and decorated with a mix of natural materials, old desert wood and old metal found on the property or nearby. There are 2 beds (full and a twin), 10 ft sloped ceiling, sink with cold running water- no hot water, flushing toilet, mini-refrigerator, electric 2 burner stove, toaster oven, heater, plates, forks, cups, cookware and electricity. There are curtains and sun blockers for privacy. When you wake up in the morning you will watch the sun rise over Turtleback Mountain. 1 block away is the Rio Grande and Rotary Park. It's 4 blocks to the main. Located in the downtown area and hot springs district, the property has a well that draws out the hot springs at about 98 degrees and pours it in to an outdoor tub- perfect for a warm winter day or summer evenings. It can be reserved for an additional fee upon arrival. 4 blocks from the downtown area you can easily access other spas, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, thrift shops, and the grocery store. Wake up in the morning, walk down to the river and you'll see heron, coots, osprey, sandhill crane, red wing black birds, and so many more wildlife. The coyotes regularly sing throughout the night.  I tend the property and you may see me around if I need to do light repair work. There is a care taker for the property who lives there and may be another guest as well. The property is 1/2 a city block. Your living quarters are private but the land is shared space. I'm available to engage if desired and I respect your privacy. The property is 6 city lots large and you will have access to 4 of them. Dogs are allowed for an additional fee. You must be responsible to clean up after them and they must be friendly with strangers.

The Historic L.C. Ranch can accommodate up to 5 RVs with full hookups & WiFi, including 3 sites with 50 amp electrical service, We are not accepting tent or car campers at this time of year. The L.C. Ranch was the second largest Cattle Ranch in American history. In its heyday around 1900 it was over one million acres. Today the cows are gone, along with the vast tracts of land and the cowboys that managed the herds. The Lyons and Campbell Ranch Headquarters remains as a time capsule of an era past. The extensive adobe compound includes the 27 room adobe mansion of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons and his wife Ida Campbell, along with the fabulous Old West Saloon, Jail, post office, bunkhouses, Theater and Chapel. In the summer months enjoy the great swimming pool, and in the spring and fall enjoy the Mimbres design hot tub. Our RV sites are closed in the winter, but our Airbnb apartments are closed in January only. The Theater has just added a video cinema system to its live performance capabilities. Think "movie night". There is a lot of history here, and for just $10/person you can take the 2 hour tour of the historic grounds. The L.C. Ranch is located in the tiny village of Gila, just 30 minutes from Silver City, right off U.S. 180 on NM Hwy 211. Ranch" in Gila, NM, available for short term rental on a!rbnb.      5 RV spots with full hookups, AND Wi-Fi.  20 or 30 amp, are $40 per night for up to 2 people. 50 amp for $50 per night. Additional guests are $10 per night, and up to 6 people per site. Hook ups include sewer, electric, WiFi and water connections, and access to the swimming pool, Hot tub, Old west Saloon and Gallery.  Two night minimum.  Swimming pool is open May thru September, Hot tub is currently off-line due to rennovations.    NO FIREWORKS! Please!  We are relaxing our fire ban to allow charcoal or gas BBQs, and fully screened portable fire pits, if it is NOT windy.  We do not supply these. There is plenty of firewood here, but you will have to cut/break it to usable size. Please be careful.   The authentic old west Saloon, Historic Main House, Theater, Gallery, Jail are all available to tour, and for workshops, retreats, Weddings, groups etc. The two hour guided tour of the museum in the main house, the "adobe mansion" of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons, is $10 per person for RV guests.   The swimming pool and Lanai are located near the Sunset Site, RV Site #3.  It will handle any size rig, 65'+, 20/30/50 amp. Big fifth wheels, Class A or C Motorhomes, no problem. It is our only pull through site. The Lanai by the pool has BBQ, pizza oven, sink, refrigerator, music, games, croquet, darts... Site for Sore Eyes, #4, is a smaller site with 20/30 amp electrical service. It is a "back in" site suitable for Class C, CamperVans, and smaller travel trailers.   The other two RV spots are a short walk away, about 150 feet.  Site #2, Gemini Site is good for up to 65', pull in, perfect for any size Motorhome or big rig, 20/30/30/20 amp with a unique double rig pedestal that allows a second 30 amp rig to hook up at your descretion. It also has its own shaded picnic area and picnic table. 4" sewer connection.  Site #1 has a full tree canopy over head, perfect for Class C or Travel trailers. "Back in" site, 20/30/50 amp, water, 4" sewer and wi-fi.     The Mimbres design hot tub is located in the bath house between the two RV locations.  It is wood-fired and available on request. (currently off-line due to rennovations)  It takes all day to heat it up and it is NOT recommended on windy or freezing nights as it is quite exposed.   There is also a bathroom with flush toilet at the pool, along with fridge, BBQ, Wood fired pizza oven, misters and bar in the Lanai, and a guest laundry with an indoor shower nearby in the Spanish courtyard. There are additional bathrooms in the Saloon and the Theater.     Karaoke at night in the old west Saloon used to be a regular occurrence on weekends before covid, let's see if we can get that going again this summer. The Saloon is equipped for live music as well, with guitar and bass amps, P.A. and electronic drum kit. The Saloon as well as the entire property is BYOB. The Saloon is not open to the public and has no liquor license. We like it this way.      Wi-fi is available at all our RV sites, and is best in the Saloon and Gallery.  We have just installed new Wi-Fi extenders.  Cell phone service is sketchy, some people with Verizon or T-Mobile get service. We also have a small gift shop filled with locally made southwest pottery, western art, fresh eggs and homemade baked goods. We'd be happy to give you a tour of our gardens and greenhouse where you can also purchase fresh vegetables for your next meal. Our overhead gate has a clearance of 13' 7". We allow all types of RV trailers and vehicles, living quarters horse trailers, vans, tents, tipis, etc. No age limit on vehicles or trailers. Our parking area is huge, and right next to our pond. A little slice of quiet rustic heaven in a very noisy world. Jennifer & Tommy were great hosts, very helpful & hospitable. The location was perfect for exploring The Gila Natl Forrest with my pup. We visited the Gila Cliff Dwellings Visitor Center & received his Bark Ranger badge, hiked on numerous dog friendly trails & soaked in the hot springs. The Casita had everything we needed to stay comfortably & even though our trip was in mid December, we stayed toasty warm & cozy. I felt safe & very at peace here. The casita was very clean, as is the property & very dog friendly. We both slept better than we have in a while, coming from the city. Lake Roberts is beautiful, with the casita so close. I look forward to another trip so I can bring my kayak & enjoy the mountain lake.

The location was convenient. It was quiet and felt safe. The yard was not visually appealing, but there was a nice view of the mountains. I could hear a rooster, but it was far enough away as to not be bothersome.

Lawrence & Dina’s Campsite was great. Open space and the amenities were just what we expected. We got there late and left really early but it was wonderful experience. I and my sons watched the stars and I saw two shooting stars. Would definitely recommend camping there. Bathroom was clean and readily accessible from all site. Thanks again Lawrence & Dina.

We had a wonderful time in TorC and loved our stay in the Winnebago. It was so cute and well decorated and had everything we needed and the host was wonderful, met us at the gate when we arrived, showed us around, and gave us some good recommendations for the area. Lawrence & Dina couldn't be better hosts and have a perfect place to stay. Our site had a picnic table under a tree which was perfect for our morning coffee. We got in too late to see the sunset but loved the sunrise. Beware of choosing the "open directions in app" option. Twice it took us the wrong way. Third time was a charm (and verified using the address). If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stay there again. Also, if you are heading east in the morning and you like old school yet quirky diners, you have to try The Pit on 292 Cafe just outside Los Cruces for breakfast. Great food and character. A fun way to start your journey.

Had an amazing night at this hip camp. Bryon and Marilyn met us there they were so sweet and helpful. We really felt taken care of. It was super peaceful and private, beautiful star gazing spot! We also went into the nearby town of Silver City and had a great time the next day, I would definitely recommend doing that! Great food/art scene!

Great location. Flat, accessible sites. Was a perfect stay for us in our sprinter and my sister in her Class C. Loved the saloon and original historical house though we ran out of time to do the tour. Next time. Alex our host was fantastic, friendly and a fount of local knowledge. Highly recommend and will hope to stay again.

Alex, the owner, was great. Our site was under huge elm trees and therefore we had lots of shade. Alex’s 3 big dogs were very laidback and sweet. We took the 2 hour tour and were amazed at his knowledge of the Lyons, Campbell’s and the history of the ranch. The family has collected furniture, art and artifacts from all over the world which were amazing. The ranch is nice and quiet. The weather was rainy and therefore wasn’t conducive to a swim but the pool looked inviting. The wood fired hot tub and showers weren’t available when we were there but are a work in progress. The restrooms were a little primitive inside the saloon but were clean. Our grandson enjoyed playing pool inside the saloon. Understand that the ranch and buildings are very old and you shouldn’t expect it to be pristine. Consider it an experience not to be missed. I’d go there again and the tour is a must!

Weekend Trip to ESCAPE to the L.C. Ranch , Gila NM

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the L.C. Ranch over the 4th of July weekend. We had full, drive-thru RV hookups. We had access to the pool, toilets, a shower, and a washer and dryer, along with other amenities, if need be. The westward views from our spot were breathtaking. We enjoyed our pop-in visits every now and then from Alex's three dogs. Alex took us on a fascinating two-hour, historical tour of the ranch. We liked being close to Bill Evans Lake and the Catwalk. If you're looking for a place to visit a little off-the-beaten-path, this would be it. We definitely recommend a visit! Thanks, again, Alex!

Had a wonderful stay. all the necessary hookups were provided. Host was very friendly as were his dogs. We had one that came to greet us every morning and say good night every night. This place was amazing. It was truly the oasis we needed. Byron and Marilyn met us on site and gave us a tour. They are both so kind and down to earth. It was a pleasure every time we had a conversation with them. The property itself is meticulously cared for. There is shade, a fountain, a beautiful pond, and even swings over the pond. The view is breathtaking and there is so much privacy! We were lucky enough to be there on the night there was a lightning storm. It was an incredible sight! We will definitely stay here again because it truly felt like a home.

The best place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the peaceful views. The site is pristine and welcoming. The owners have made this a haven away from all the stresses. They are accommodating and kind. We enjoyed row boating in the pond and did a little fish watching. Don't pass this peaceful spot up when looking for your next camping adventure.
