Had a wonderful stay on Linda's land. As everyone has mentioned, she's a caring, welcome and fascination host. We just needed a quiet place to camp while attending an event at Tico so this was perfect.

5 nights at Ribbit Retreat

Great site close enough to activities of Durango but far enough that you get the mellowness of being in nature. We had deer visit and saw a coyote in the distance which was super cool. Our dogs loved being able to be off leash but make sure you have them under good voice control because there is wildlife. The host was super responsive and communicated well. We didn't need any of the hook ups so stayed in a nice treed area to keep cool when it got warm. Would definitely stay again.

6 nights at Ribbit Retreat

A very peaceful property within 12 minutes of Walmart and 15 minutes of historic downtown Durango. We enjoyed watching the deer and elk wander by in the evenings. We stayed in site 2 in a 35' fifth-wheel with slides on both sides. Of the 2 sites, site 1 is the longer of the 2 sites and 24' feet wide. It looked pretty level side to side with a little bit of a downhill grade (front to back). There is about 6' between the power pole and the fence, so plenty of room to walk around the backside of your rig. Site 2 is also 20'+ wide, but shorter due to a steep drop at the front of the site and required a little bit of levelling side-to-side (1 block under the tires).

Linda is an absolutely amazing host and has a beautiful property. We were given so many recommendations and had a very comfortable stay! Definitely recommend and will be returning!!

8 nights at Riverside Meadows Camping

This is a beautiful property and the hosts are very kind. We had great views of the river and mountains. There are 2 dogs and a cat that live on the property, they mostly keep to themselves and are all very friendly and add to the natural ambiance of the property. There is an amazing walking path along the river. The hosts were in the process of setting up some very nice glamping tents on wood platforms. Keep an eye out for those when they become available because those would make for a wonderful peaceful stay.

You will not find a kinder, more helpful host than Linda. She was a wealth of information on the area and provided multiple resources for us to check out the area on our own. The property is peaceful and lovely. No frills, but all the open skies and quiet time you could ask for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would reccomend her camp to anyone searching in the area.

Megan's meadow was lovely and the firepit, stone seats and well stocked firewood was such a blessing! We had a fantastic couple of nights.

If I could give Linda 10 stars, I would! She was extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful. The description is accurate, it was a nice, quiet site with some friendly donkeys and wildlife sightings! I would love to stay again and would definitely recommend.

A quiet space to relax. We had the chance try two spots while staying with Linda and both were wonderful. We loved watching the horses and donkeys in the evenings enjoying the pasture and water. A small deer herd passed by one morning. Linda and her husband are such great hosts. We felt at ease immediately. Highly recommend staying here on your travels or for a break from city as we did. Can't wait to visit again in another season and check out some of what the area has to offer.

My time on linda’s ranch was a great time. I really enjoyed being able to relax and have a beautiful area to stay at Linda is such a welcoming and kind host. I was blown away by how accommodating and fun she was. I sincerely recommend her as a camp host and her campsite, it may not have all the bells and whistles of some of these fancy campgrounds, but it has all of the charm and love of someone who cares about their property and their campers. I stayed for 2 weeks with Linda.

This was such a beautiful & peaceful place. They have a beautiful property! Linda was very accommodating, greeted us when we arrived & such a nice lady! You get to camp amongst the animals also, which was a plus for me. The donkeys & horses were so friendly! Can't wait to come back & visit!

Absolutely loved camping here! My husband and I just needed a get away for his birthday and picked this wonderful ranch! Linda was the sweetest and most kind person and even gave us some ideas for our trip! Loved all the animals and definitely will be back! I couldn’t recommend this place more!

This was my first (and favorite) place I stayed during my trip out West this year. Linda is an exceptionally wonderful host, and she graciously waited for me to arrive that evening when I arrived a little bit later than I had planned. She messaged me to check on how I was doing while making the drive, and was even thoughtful enough to make sure I had everything I needed before arriving so I wasn't missing anything. The land is gorgeous & the friendly donkeys and horses were also gracious hosts (who even surrounded my car to "check" on me at night 🥰) I loved staying here & would definitely recommend it to anyone (especially solo female travelers like myself) who need a safe & quiet space to stay.

Most magical place with an exceptional host! Leaving this review literally years later and we still think fondly of our stay here, Linda hopped on the the step of our van and guided us to our camping spot, as we took the wrong road and arrived super late. She is a true gem. We saw wild turkeys in the morning and the view was stunning! If we make it out towards Durango Again we would absolutely stay here once more! ❤️

Santa Rita Ranch is located in a rural, agricultural valley south of Durango, Colorado. Originally a dairy and hay farm, the Mannix's raised all organic beef in the past. Currently it operates as a hay farm and Linda has three horses and three donkeys. Very quiet rural area with plenty of open space. Elevation 6,000 ft. Learn more about this land: The 40 acre Santa Rita Ranch has hayfields, irrigation and plenty of room to camp. Located 20 minutes south of Durango Colorado it is quiet and peaceful. Good internet access! Porta potty available. Only 20 minutes to two wineries: Foxfire Farms in Ignacio, CO and Wines of the San Juans near Aztec, NM. Paddleboarding and windsurfing on Lake Nighthorse. Lots of mountain bike trails near Durango and good road biking on our CR 213. Flying into Durango? We have a tent and camp chairs for you! Horses and donkeys available to pet. Horse boarding available for those traveling with their equine friends.

We are in the rural area between Hesperus, Durango, and Mancos - An easy drive to Durango and its thrift shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes, Animas River and River Trail, and hiking and biking trails. Mancos is filled with art galleries, a wonderful bakery and cafe, beauty, and endless trails. Also within driving distance are Phil's World, Cortez, Sand Canyon, the beautiful La Plata Canyon, Mesa Verde National Park, Lake NIghthorse, and more! There are endless hiking and biking trails within driving distance of the property. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing abound and alpine skiing at Purgatory Ski Resort are popular winter activities. The views of the La Platas and Sleeping Ute are ever changing, awe inspiring, and constant from the deck of The Art Shack. On the property are cats, two dogs, two equines (you will hear our burro braying). Our neighbors have yaks, cattle, goats, sheep, dogs, horses, poultry, and other farm animals. You will also see the wild critters that inhabit our corner of La Plata County. You are welcome to wander our property beyond the Big Stick Ditch but do not go into the pasture with our burro or enter any of the out buildings. Park within steps of the Art Shack, cross the foot bridge over the bubbling irrigation ditch, and you have arrived! Please remove your shoes before entering! There is electricity, a queen bed, rustic chairs inside, an outdoor table and chairs, a composting toilet, a coffee machine, and purified drinking water for your use. An electric heater is supplied during winter months. There is no air conditioning. We are available if needed (unless we are out of town adventuring) but will not expect to interact with you as you relax. No dogs are allowed - 2 people max - No smoking of lit substances inside The Art Shack. Please remove your shoes before entering The Art Shack!
