The Enchanted Circle Campground sits on the Avalon Ranch. It is 161 owned acres surrounded by a state trust lease. We are very proud to have been voted #1 Campground in NM 3 years in a row. We have 8 RV/tent sites to choose from. Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. Potable water is available as well as a portable toilet. Wi-Fi is available at the office and fishing lake. For cooking, bbq and grill over fire pit. With the grill, you will have tongs, a spatula and a grill brush. A fire extinguisher and a shovel. The property was originally homesteaded in 1893. It was also the first potato farm in NM. It has seven ground-fed springs that run year-round. They converge after filling 4 of our ponds in the marshland where the potatoes were grown. A family of 4 lived in the first dwelling built here, not much larger than a shed. Since that time 2 homes, 1 of which still stands, a barn, a smokehouse, and 4 outbuildings were constructed. There are old wagons and farm equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900's still strewn about the ranch. We are home to Huge herds of Elk, mule deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, eagles, black bears, 8 horses, chickens, pigs, goats, our two dogs and 3 cats, and the occasional Mountain Lion. We live here year-round. We love our land and want to share it with others. I am a Veteran and our intent is to eventually have a Veterans Retreat facility here. Not a retreat itself, but rather a location for all of the retreats, nationwide, to be able to utilize, so they can use the funds they have to do what they do best. You are helping to make that possible. We do pride ourselves on minimally impacting our land. We strive to keep it clean and as close to nature as we can. You can be 5 minutes from the ski slopes or mountain bike trails, and return to a comfortable cabin complete with full-sized, glow-in-the-dark bocci ball court. It lights up at night for extra fun! We also have a relaxing deck where you can eat under the pine trees and enjoy the deer and elk passing through our yard. We have a fireplace for the winter time, and a fully stocked kitchen. The lake is within walking distance where you can fish, kayak, paddle-board, or swim. Head down to the resort and use our guest pass for a dip in the pool, a yoga class, or spend some time at the gym. We are also very near the golf course. The loft is great for kids to sleep in, and we can provide air mattresses if you need extra room. The beds have new, extra-comfy mattresses and we ensure that it is very clean for your arrival. The high-vaulted ceilings create plenty of space, and the entire cabin is 1600 square-feet. We stock it with dish soap, towels, toilet paper, shampoo, and conditioner. A nice Weber gas grill is provided to cook up your catch from the lake. Next to the grill is an outside sink available for cleaning the fish. Angel Fire also has many wonderful restaurants if you are in need of a recommendation. We love to go for walks around our neighborhood and see all the wildlife. We have seen deer, Elk, bobcats, wild turkeys, and magpies all from our front deck. If you have an RV, or friends with an RV, we have a site with hookups as part of our membership. We can provide this for you at an additional fee. The house allows for parking 3 cars, but we can accommodate RV’s there as well if necessary.

Set alongside a private walking path that leads to the top of the Rio Grande National Monument and the rim of the iconic Taos canyon. I am just getting set up with hipcamp and don’t have much to offer beyond a beautiful camping spot on private property, on the very best of the Taos Mesa. I am currently very busy finishing the construction of my home, and work out here almost daily. I sometimes have visitors and work exchange staying on the property, but you will have a private and separate area to park and camp. If you are interested in earthen building construction or off-grid-life, I am happy to talk with you about it if time allows. Abiquiu Tiny House

Situated at 6300 ft. above sea level the Chama River Valley is surrounded by forested mountains. There is white water rafting on the Rio Chama and Rio Grande Rivers nearby during spring and summer. Within an hour there are ski areas at Taos and Santa Fe during the winter. Ojo Caliente Hot Springs is 17 miles away and has a full spa and restaurant. There are beautiful hiking trails throughout the area and Abiquiu Lake is less than 20 minutes away. The location of the Tiny House is in a quiet, private and beautiful setting. Abiquiu Lake is only 15 minutes away for fun swimming, Ghost Ranch is 20 minutes away and has 3 beautiful hikes. Santa Fe and Taos are 60 minutes away. The tiny house is a healthy house built on the golden mean and has no electrical radiation inside except wi-fi. All material used are nontoxic.Notable aspect. There are no pets allowed on the property.

We are CLOSED until further notice- 2024 UPDATE: Spring of 2022 we had devastating Fires and Floods to our property and area. We need to rebuild and clear and reseed the burned areas. Please keep us in mind for your next visit to our area. After passing our gardens and animals, you will be in the woods, surrounded by nature. Complete with 'sounds of the country' with sheep, chickens, turkeys, and our livestock guardian dogs in the distance. Set up your camp in an old growth tree forest. Slowly, you will unwind and relax. A change comes over you, softening and lightening your perceptions of what is important. We cherish our woods and invite you to feel the sway of the trees. We are setting up hikes, walks, and we are rebuilding our Remote Control off road course(Remote Controlled 4x4's ). We are rebuilding the Bathhouse Outdoor Kitchen area, lawn games, and all the RV and camping sites. There is a small fee for the Day- use of the Remote Control course. Message us for specifics. **If you are attending the RC Festivals in August September, please mention it in your message to us. We have a different fee arranged for RC off road 4x4 Festival camping participants. As well as Pancake breakfasts, lunches and grilled dinners in the works. NOTE: The fire 🔥 flashed FAST through our woods. Charring trees and bushes. Which will singed for several years. Because of this, there will be more pastured meadows than before. As well as more flowers and underbrush. Keep an eye out for our sheep grazing these new pastures. With the June and July rains we should have fresh new grass, leaves, plants by the time of your visit.

Peaceful and private 3 acres right by the river at the edge of a little quaint town called La Madera (145 people, no shops)- just 6 miles to the healing mineral Hot Springs of Ojo Caliente, a place of emergence or rebirth as known to the local Natives. Right by the river, held by a ridge (that makes for amazing sunset hikes), I have a 16ft Yurt Canvas set up with furnishings (desk, couch, wash stand) and a wooden Queen Bed with down bedding. This site can only be reached by foot across the river via stumps- a car can be parked near by.. approx. 50ft. I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. Nearby is Taos Ski Valley, Red River, Questa, the Town of Taos, the Rio Grande and a lot of wilderness, national forest, BLM, and national monument land.

The Enchanted Circle Campground sits on the Avalon Ranch. It is 161 owned acres surrounded by a state trust lease. We are very proud to have been voted #1 Campground in NM 3 years in a row. We have 8 RV/tent sites to choose from. Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. Potable water is available as well as a portable toilet. Wi-Fi is available at the office and fishing lake. For cooking, bbq and grill over fire pit. With the grill, you will have tongs, a spatula and a grill brush. A fire extinguisher and a shovel. The property was originally homesteaded in 1893. It was also the first potato farm in NM. It has seven ground-fed springs that run year-round. They converge after filling 4 of our ponds in the marshland where the potatoes were grown. A family of 4 lived in the first dwelling built here, not much larger than a shed. Since that time 2 homes, 1 of which still stands, a barn, a smokehouse, and 4 outbuildings were constructed. There are old wagons and farm equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900's still strewn about the ranch. We are home to Huge herds of Elk, mule deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, eagles, black bears, 8 horses, chickens, pigs, goats, our two dogs and 3 cats, and the occasional Mountain Lion. We live here year-round. We love our land and want to share it with others. I am a Veteran and our intent is to eventually have a Veterans Retreat facility here. Not a retreat itself, but rather a location for all of the retreats, nationwide, to be able to utilize, so they can use the funds they have to do what they do best. You are helping to make that possible. We do pride ourselves on minimally impacting our land. We strive to keep it clean and as close to nature as we can. We encourage you to leave it better than you found it, as it is only making it that much better. We encourage you to get out and explore. Trailblaze. Be a pioneer. Go wherever you feel lead.
