Escape the hustle and bustle of city life as you unwind in my charming 120-square-foot (10 x 12 ft) tiny house, thoughtfully designed for comfort and functionality. We are located about 30 minutes north of Placerville in the Swansboro/Mosquito area. The cozy living accommodations has a key-less entry and features two sleeping areas: a tiny loft with a twin-sized bed and on the main floor, a small sofa that converts into a small bed that is 39 inches wide and 66 inches long. Sheets, comforters, and pillows are provided for the beds. There is a ceiling fan, small electric heater, and an air conditioner as well. The small kitchen provides all the essentials to whip up delicious meals including a two burner hot plate, pots and pans, toaster, french press, plates, bowls, and eating utensils, spices and condiments, as well as complimentary tea and coffee. The tiny bathroom includes a metal tub with a copper shower and a compostable toilet. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. There are two chairs on the screened-in porch to enjoy the sunset in the evenings or your coffee/tea in the mornings. Situated a mere 10 minutes drive away is the pristine Finnon Lake, inviting you to indulge in a refreshing swim or a tranquil paddle amidst breathtaking scenery. The beautiful Rock Creek is just a 15-minute drive, promising invigorating water holes to swim or wade in. Wonderful forest hiking trails are also nearby in the El Dorado National Forest. The tiny house is a mere 25 feet from my own home but there is a bamboo privacy fence between us that will give you plenty of privacy. In addition, I have several small beautiful dogs on the property that may bark during the initial visit of guests. Cute little cabin nestled in Tahoe National forest . This little gem is on an acre of land surrounded by national forest land. Close enough to Lake Tahoe to get to but also away from the Tahoe chaos. Host lives on property , but will most likely be out and about most of the day. There are two neighbors but both own 20 acres so you can not see them, feels very private. The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. you can’t hear highway noise while in the cabin and towards the back of the land. However it is nice to be so close to highway 20 because it leads to several different destinations. ( west : Nevada city. east: towards Tahoe, and both directions there are soo many lakes/ rivers ) Tiny house: •Full sized futon downstairs and king sized mattress in loft. Electric fireplace, all the game boards , cards, chess, fire pit, projector for movies if requested!!! •Additional guests are welcome to pitch a tent on the land if needed. •Hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, kitchen appliances, coffee (French press, drip, mocha pot). This is an incredible property with an incredible host! I camped at Willow springs, and really enjoyed the lushness of the willows, the privacy, and watching the Beavers, Owls and Hawks. I also stayed a week in Tiny Blue which was a little slice of heaven!! I loved all the books, the view and it was super comfy! The tiny kitchen and bathroom nearby were absolutely perfect and I didn't need to leave the property for anything for many days. Wendy is so enthusiastic and hands on, you can really tell she loves what she does and has built a beautiful sanctuary for artists, writers, creative types and those that are in need of some sanctuary. I Especially encourage women who are Solo camping to spend some time at this beautiful location! I can't wait to come back next year!🌀

Weekend Trip to Pequena Huts

We had such a fun and peaceful time at Ari’s little piece of heaven. It’s a very cute getaway surrounded by tall trees, so it’s in the shade most of the day. It never felt hot in the tiny house, even though the temps where in the high 80’s. It is obvious that a lot of love and thoughtfulness is being put into the property to make sure the guests have a lovely stay. We loved everything about it. Taking a shower outdoors under the blue skies and trees was very nice. Enjoyed the outdoor meals and sink. She had just finished the bathroom and it was a very nice and appreciated addition. The lake is a 15 min nice hike away. Ari greeted us upon arrival and showed us how to get to the trail. We went to the water first thing and had a good time before a beautiful sunset dinner. Ari lives in the main house 20 feet away from the tiny house, but went away for the weekend so it felt very private. Me made great memories there and the kids can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

Arianne's place was awesome. The hut itself was nice and cozy for my girlfriend and I, and our dog. The blackstone out near the fire pit was my personal favorite! Spaulding lake was a short drive away and made for a nice swim on the hot day we stayed. Overall, would def stay here if you're looking for a comfy place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pequena Hut with our two large dogs! The hut is cozy, clean, and stocked with everything you need for basic cooking. We used the Blackstone grill for all our meals and loved eating by the fire each evening. The location is incredible — we visited Emerald Pools, but the real highlight was Blue Lake. It’s a bit off the beaten path, and we had it almost entirely to ourselves. The swimming was perfect and peaceful. We also checked out the trail to Lake Spaulding, which is doable for humans but a bit too rough for one of our pups. Each evening, we walked up to the rocks above the hut to watch the sunset — definitely a favorite moment. Pro tip: during hot days, aim the fan outward upstairs and keep the windows and door open to create a cooling draft. At night, turn the fan inward and you’ll get a nice breeze through the loft for comfortable sleep. We’d love to come back!

My family and I enjoyed tent camping at tailwinds ranch. We loved the privacy and relaxation that the site provided. For those in our group that preferred cabin camping, the tiny home was super convenient. It was very clean and fully stocked with the basics as well as water and electricity. The owner is super responsive and helpful. This campsite is perfect for a larger group or multiple families. The place felt cozy and peaceful. 10/10 recommend!

Wonderful, private and peaceful site! The bunkhouse is surround by trees and other greenery. Different birds flying by and chirping in the distance. My dogs also had a lot of fun in the sun. The bunkhouse was clean and comfortable and the site was prepared for our arrival. There were lights outside and even inside the outhouse. The outhouse was clean as well. It was amazing to have running water and a sink to wash with. There were kitchen supplies, books, games, small fan and heater, and fire starters. Great amenities for a comfortable stay. For the summer season, there is also a magnetic screen door for both the bunkhouse and outhouse door. Noticed bug repellents around the site and some bug zappers provided in the bunkhouse. Maybe it was early in the season but I think the bugs were really minimal. Had no issues considering mosquitos usually devour me. I would definitely recommend checking this site out.

Cozy camping hut with a loft sleeping area that was very comfortable, outdoor shower attached and a composting toilet in a separate outhouse just a couple steps away. There are both a large and a small gas grill available but we loved the fire pit with the optional cooking grate. Lake Spaulding is very near and Emerald Pools are just a few minutes' drive away. Plus there is nice dark-sky star viewing at night. We had a great time!

Where to go

Lake Tahoe

Stateline sits at the southeast corner of Lake Tahoe, a massive alpine lake with 72 miles of shoreline. Head north along the Nevada side of the lake for RV and tent camping at Nevada Beach Campground and Zephyr Cove, or head across the border for Campground by the Lake in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. Find scenic campgrounds at Emerald Bay State Park and D.L. Bliss State Park and further along the west shore of the lake on Highway 89 near Tahoe City. Look for backcountry options along the Tahoe Rim Trail.

Kirkwood and Carson Pass Area

South of Stateline, Kirkwood is a popular destination for outdoor recreation, especially over the winter at the ski resort. Several camping options can be found just outside of town, including developed forest service and PG&E campgrounds around several small lakes, while additional campgrounds can also be found along the west fork of the Carson River. For hot springs and camping, head to Grover Hot Springs State Park near Markleeville.

High Desert and Valley

For high desert camping, head east over the mountains down to the valley, with RV resorts near Minden, Gardnerville, and Carson City. Further north, enjoy year-round camping around Washoe Lake at Washoe Lake Campground and at Davis Creek Campground. Further east, Dayton State Park and Fort Churchill State Park offer history and year-round camping in the high desert.

Eldorado National Forest

West of Stateline, the Eldorado National Forest offers nearly 600,000 acres of forest, lakes, and fishable rivers and streams, in addition to more than 50 developed campgrounds and plenty of dispersed camping options. Two wilderness areas, Mokelumne and Desolation, in particular, offer excellent backcountry camping options.

When to go

Like most towns around Lake Tahoe, Stateline is busiest over the summer, the most popular time for water recreation on the lake. Winter is also a busy period, with visitors flocking to Heavenly, Kirkwood, and other area ski resorts. Most campgrounds are closed over the winter, though plenty of cabin options are available. Spring and fall offer ideal weather for outdoor recreation and smaller crowds.
