Mom's RV Spot

2 sites · RVs1 acre · Las Vegas, NV
Welcoming camp experience in the Las Vegas area. Private RV spot tucked away on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood, yet only 15 minutes to the downtown Fremont Street Experience, and about 25 minutes to the large strip properties like Caesars Palace and MGM. Las Vegas has a lot to offer, but we have you covered with the RV spot. We are in the NW valley with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. When the sun goes down over the Spring Mountains and Mount Charleston beautiful colors illuminate evening clouds. We are in somewhat of a rural area, so you might see bats in the evening, and bunnies in the morning. We have even seen coyote, owl, and of course lots of geese flying between golf courses in the morning during many months of the year. We are away from the city lights, so nighttime can be quite dark, but the moon can be a spectacular site in the night sky. Red Rock Canyon is 16 miles away. Many of our guests enjoy the scenic beauty or climbing opportunities in Red Rock. Nevada's newest state park, Ice Age Fossils State Park, is just a few miles away and offers a glimpse into prehistoric time in the region. If you enjoy ziplining then check out Slotzilla at Fremont Street or on the Las Vegas strip at the LINQ. Our Hipcamp comes equipped with water, electrical service (both 30amp and 50amp), and a sewer connection.

Havens Ranch is a 154 acres in the Humboldt river valley just 10 minutes outside of Winnemucca, NV. We have a small outdoor wedding venue, and only rent our spaces when we are not hosting an event. You are welcome to utilize the grounds and facilities, which include a beautifully landscaped lawn, historic buildings and modern plumed bathrooms. We also provide access to fresh well water and use of our large fire pits! **Please note that our bathrooms are not insulated and so we winterize the plumbing the in the colder months and will instead be providing a porta-john. There will still be potable running water available at the spigot. ** The river is a short walk away, and our longhorn cattle will most likely be grazing in the adjacent field. We have incredible sunsets and a variety of wildlife living on the property. This is a great space to get away from the city for a weekend, or camp for a night on your way through town. We have both a guest suite and several camping spaces available. It's a large property and we love to share it! If you are looking for outdoor activities, we are just minutes away from the Winnemucca Dunes OHV area (also great for hiking!), Water Canyon rec site, the Bloody Shins mountain biking trail system, and about an hour away from the Paradise Valley rock climbing area. #1 Night Skies, UFOs, & Jets

1 site · RV, Tent7 acres · Rachel, NV
Wide open desert with history. In the 1800s the area was prospected for lead and silver. It was also used as farmland decades ago, and now is infamous for it's world class night skies and Area 51 air force installation. Although you can see planes taking off towards the Nellis Bombing Range, or see jetfighter training exercises or even test flights, the US Government still hasn't acknowledged the existence of the facility... that you are not allowed to enter. This is also a UFO hotspot and required visiting for those that believe Earth may have visitors. This land means a lot to a lot of different people. For some, it means peace from city life. For others, it is the perfect setting for reflection on your life. Many find it to be the kind of adventurous or challenging tent camping they've sought. You'd be foolish not to count yourself among those the photographers, amateur astronomers, or souls that enjoy the continental United States' "darkest skies" with the least amount of light pollution in this part of the world.  Some simply like camping and getting free air shows. Finally, if you enjoy UFO stories or stories of our men in black, there is an itinerary for you here that nowhere else can provide. This area is on many "independent researchers" must-visit list. If all that weren't enough, there is an indescribable feeling of bedding down for the night in this valley. Maybe 100% of people don't feel it, but so many past visitors who have spent the night near the Extraterrestrial Highway (the real name of Nevada State Route 395 that this land is accessible from) can vouch for it.

Antelope Run Ranch

16 sites · RVs, Tents41 acres · Valmy, NV
Okay, April '24 has gotten a lot added already with more on the way. The first of many Hitching Posts (by request from guests) has been added to Site B02 along with a grill. Site B03 now has a Park Bench with more additions coming. Better signage. Approximate distances (again suggested by guests) with pictures will be sent once booked. I hope everyone is ready for a CampTastic 2024 🤠 WOW, what a turn out for the Annular Solar Eclipse. All my guests were extremely wonderful people. We had a blast talking story. The great vibes we all put out actually gave us a perfect window to view the main event unfettered. The clouds parted and gave us the entire 5 plus minutes to view the full RING OF FIRE. I'm hopeful our guests will post some of their gorgeous photos captured. Antelope Run Ranch spans over 40 acres and currently offers four different sites for accommodation. There are three operational campsites that receive regular monthly improvements. The cabin site is currently unavailable for rent, as a composting outhouse and shower room are in the planning stages. The property features an old dry river bed running through the center of the property. A potable water system is pending installation on-site; guests are advised to bring their own water until then. Waste disposal services are not yet available, so guests are requested to make alternative arrangements for their waste. Each of our Camp Sites alone provide you with so much space, not including the vastness of the Ranch itself, but also the multitude of BLM land to explore. Eventually every "Dispersed" Site will have a central location for all guests or groups of friends to congregate...Get together and cook, eat and just relax and enjoy each others company, while allowing those in the party to be able to slink away to the comfort and quiet of their own Travel Trailer or RV. The Antelope Run Ranch is a gateway to adventure, catering to those with an adventurous spirit. Whether you enjoy star gazing, rock hounding, hiking, hunting, or simply exploring the sandy landscape, the ranch offers a range of experiences. The Pumpernickel Valley's vast openness provides a serene environment. Any 4x4 vehicle is welcome and required, as the sand can be soft. Feel free to bring your sand toys and embrace the countless opportunities for exploration in the valley. During the day, you can bask under the clear skies and remember to apply sunblock. At night, bring firewood and warm blankets to appreciate the experience fully. Guests can reach the nearby Humboldt River via UTV, ATV, or other desert-running vehicles to the south and west of the property. While mountains surround the area, the immediate surroundings are perfect for exploration. If you forget something, the city of Battle Mountain can be found to the east on I-80. Pack your adventurous spirit and escape from it all at Antelope Run Ranch. A small cabin labeled A01 (currently on pause for upgrades with others on the drawing board) is situated on the northeast corner of the property, offering accommodation for two people. The cabin includes a small wood burner and a skylight, primarily serving as a base camp for hunting. On the southwest corner, site B01 is equipped with a picnic table, bench, fire pit, and BBQ, providing a comfortable, relaxing spot. This site is located adjacent to 1,292 acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land on the west side, and the entire valley is filled with BLM land for exploration. Access to the property involves traveling dirt roads and soft sand, so no matter what type of vehicle, or RV you have, it needs to be four wheel drive. Once past the power plant, you'll leave the black top, which ends around six miles away from the property (detailed pictures for waypoints will be provided a day or two before your arrival date). If you plan on bringing trailers or camping equipment, be prepared for soft sand throughout the area, again 4x4 is a must. Once you've made your reservation and received the coordinates, get ready for an authentic getaway experience. Embrace the isolation and admire the clear night skies of Pumpernickel Valley, a genuine escape nestled between Battle Mountain and Winnemucca, Nevada, north of the I-80. Signage has been installed to provide a much easier path to the Antelope Run Ranch as of 23 July 2023 As of May 22, 2023, a solar-powered cellular security camera has been installed on the northeast corner, providing a view looking southwest, approximately 300 feet behind Cabin A01. Upon booking, you'll be provided access to check it out if requested. The first few trees (tiny for now) have been planted on the property, with more to come. The establishment of potable water for guests and tree watering is in progress. At Antelope Run Ranch, you can set up your tent, RV, camper trailer, overland rig, or stay in a cabin for an additional fee. Get ready, our next addition will be Hitching Posts, we've had a few requests, so we will position at least one at each Site, and multiple throughout the area. So ready the Horses, let the exploration begin. Please note that the ranch is located in a high desert environment, and temperature swings between day and night can be significant. Guests are advised to be mindful of the surrounding nature, including snakes, scorpions, mosquitoes, coyotes, and other wildlife that roam the land. If the need arises and I am unable to assist you in any way, I do have a few buddies in the area that may be of assistance. Please reach out for directions from me once booked, Google and Apple maps have been unreliable as of recent. I have directions and pictures to share once booked. Signage has been set up, navigation to Antelope Run Ranch will be that much simpler now! Closest Hospital: Battle Mountain General Hospital 535 S. Desert camping in Nevada with campfires guide

Overview

When most people think of Nevada, one of two things come to mind: either Las Vegas or desert landscapes. It's an understandable assessment; after all, most of the state's population is concentrated in the Las Vegas area, and much of the state is, indeed, rugged desert land. In fact, it’s the driest state in the union. That said, Nevada offers plenty more than casinos and barren expanses and is a fantastic place if you want to get out in nature without crowds. Here you’ll find massive mountain peaks, ancient rock formations, Wild West towns, oddball roadside attractions, and plenty of opportunities to commune with nature in near silence.

Where to go

Northern Nevada

Nevada's northernmost stretch is characterized by Wild West nostalgia and quiet communities, many heavily influenced by the descendants of the Basque immigrants who settled the region in the 19th century. The western part is home to both the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge and the Black Rock Desert, where Burning Man is held every year. Continue further east and you'll find yourself in the remote Ruby Mountains, an amazing place to hike, camp, and birdwatch.

North-Central Nevada

This quiet swathe of Nevada has some of the best outdoor attractions in the state, from the Lehman Caves system in Great Basin National Park to the massive sand dunes appropriately known as Sand Mountain. If you really want to get a feel for the region, take a long drive down desolate Highway 50, which follows the old Pony Express route. Drive far enough west and you'll end up in Lake Tahoe, offering year-round recreation and easy access to the largest alpine lake on the continent.

Central Nevada

Vast central Nevada offers a mix of quirky roadside attractions and rocky scenery. Cathedral Gorge State Park is particularly fantastic, with otherworldly caves, towering hoodoos, and more than its fair share of jackrabbits. Fans of the supernatural won't want to miss a trip along the so-called Extraterrestrial Highway, which passes Area 51 along with all sorts of UFO-themed oddities.

Southern Nevada

Although Las Vegas is southern Nevada's undisputed star, there's plenty to see and do in the region beyond Sin City, from immersing yourself in Wild West history at the Pioneer Saloon in Jean to learning about the history of hydroelectric energy at the massive Hoover Dam. If you want to take a hike, head to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, where you'll find over 30 miles of red sandstone-flanked trails.
