Tarantula Ranch is located in the Mojave Desert surrounded by BLM land and nearby Death Valley National Park. One of the first vineyards in Nevada, we grow 5 varietals of grapes and make wine on-site. We offer guests camping, glamping, and an RV site.
Camping and Glamping sites are located next to the vines and include picnic tables, shared bathhouse with toilets and shower, outdoor kitchen (bbq, gas cooktop). We also have a community area "The Wine Hall" with ping-pong, shuffleboard, refrigerator, and microwave.
Outside our gates, enjoy biking, hiking, scrambling, and exploring the Amargosa Desert and nearby Skeleton Hills.
Nearby attractions include Ash Meadows Wildlife Refuge (30-minutes) and Death Valley National Park (45-minutes). We have spent a lot of time in the park and are happy to answer questions, make suggestions, or even take you on a tour.

It was overall a great site. Civilization is close enough if you need it (20-30 minutes), yet far enough away to provide seclusion and spectacular views of the night sky.
The ground is soft enough to make it easy to sink tent stakes, but strong enough to hold them in place when the wind kicks up. This made setup and breakdown particularly easy.
The roads are primitive, but can be traversed by a 2WD vehicle with a little care.
Best of all, it was close to a lot of scenic sites, including Big Dune and Ash Meadows, and just a pleasant 45 minute drive from Death Valley. It serves as a great base for exploring a beautiful part of the country.

Spent the night here while visiting Death Valley in Feb. This was an amazingly clean campground! The amenities were beyond my expectations and I would stay at Tarantula ranch again!

I love this Hipcamp. It is absolutely beautiful and serene, close to bathrooms, with coffee and a common area down the way a 2 min walk. I’ll be back for sure!

This spot is incredible!! I didn’t want to leave. Welcoming, clean, easy to find and away from the noise! It has all the amenities you could need, outdoor sink and cooking spaces, quaint and clean bathroom/showers. We will definitely be back and give this place a 5-Star!

Brandon was super friendly and welcoming! The site was nice, hookups were easy. Very clean & well kept. Great signage and decorated really nicely & so fun- you can tell they take pride in it. Remote but easy to get to. They are just waiting for their license so they can sell their wine. Would definitely stay again - even bought the T-shirts.

Wonderful place. It is very secluded and you have everything you need. They have gone above and beyond with the look and feel. You will have everything you need. I was in my own van but I walked around and could tell that they pay attention to detail and their accommodations are perfect. You have to use the outdoor shower.

This was my second time visiting, it is kept extremely clean and is a wonderful place to view the stars. We were on our way between Zion and Death Valley so a perfect place to spend the night.

The campsite is very isolated - nearest structure is several hundred meters away, but 15 minutes from services (gas station). The site is gravel and pretty level, and so blissfully quiet. Ane the sky was so dark and clear, all the big constellations were easily viewable - Sagittarius, Scorpio, Cassiopeia, so many. Next time, I'll bring my telescope. Even if for only one night, make this a part of your rotation. On second thought, no body go there- yeah that's it. Leave it all for me - Mwaaahaa it's all mine.

Lovely space carved out of the desert. Beautiful and austere vistas with gorgeous sunsets over the Amargosa Mtns. Amenities are as described and clean. The host was very responsive when I had questions. Would immediately stay here again next time I'm through this area.

We stayed in the RV spot close to the house and it was easy to find. It's a beautiful piece of property and they have many amenities. The only thing I would caution is there's no shade in the heat of the summer when you stay in the RV site. We went for walks down the gravel road and found a shady place to relax just a few miles down the road.

A most excellent camping experience!
The camp host greeted us upon arrival and was friendly, helpful - we're glad to have met her.
If you love the desert southwest, this would be a great home base for exploration. We would stay there again without hesitation.
